Chapter 6: Chapter 6
βNuri's P.O.V.β
"With me. In my house." Daniel casually answered.
I choked on my food after hearing his suggestion. Was he crazy or psycho?
Asking a stranger to live in his house? I gasped in fear and shock.
"Are you freaking crazy?" I asked him with disbelief.
I was in shock, but Daniel seemed very calm.
"I am not, " He casually replied.
"You need a guide. Right? For visiting all the places.?" He glanced up at me and said confidently, "And I am a netizen."
"So you want me to live with you ?"
"Yes." He smiled the most adorable smile.
Daniel's smile was so adorable that I couldn't resist the urge to stare at him even when I realised he was a weirdo.
"No! No! Nuri, please, he is crazy. Is he a rapist? Omo!" I thought and stared at Daniel with a weird expression. Daniel smiled sweetly again.
"Ah! His smile... No- No, Nuri, he can be a kidnapper too. But why did he help me? No, he said he didn't want to help me." I started having conflicting thoughts.
"Mom said people sometimes sell girls by trapping them with sweet words. Human trafficking!
Oh, freak!
Am I having a meal with a human trafficker ?!" I was scared to reach that conclusion.
"Nuri, you're fine ?" Daniel leaned closer and studied my face with his golden-brown eyes.
"You're sweating so much!"
I could hear the concern in his voice. But still, he was not a casual guy. I tried to act normal.
" I am feeling a little sick. I should go to my hotel." I tried to give an excuse.
I stood up, giving him my awkward smile, and almost prepared to leave.
"Bye, Daniel. It was nice meeting you." I said with a shaking voice, "See you around."
"Sit down," He ordered with a calm voice.
I turned around and looked at him. He answered while sipping his coffee, "How are you going to survive without your passport ?"
And then he took out a passport from his shirt pocket. I was terrified after noticing the passport in Daniel's hand. I unzipped my backpack in a fraction of a second and couldn't find it there.
"It's yours!" He said while opening the passport only to show me my picture inside, looking like a female Harry potter.
Now my voice was stuck inside my throat. I stared at Daniel with fear in my eyes.
"Will you take a seat now ?" He calmly asked.
I sat down again. I was terrified about what was going on in Daniel's mind and how hazardous he could be.
"When did you take it?" I asked while stuttering.
"What would you do knowing that ?" He kept a straight face.
"Give me back my passport. Do you want me to report you to the police ?" I tried to warne him.
"Of course. Go ahead. I don't think the cops can understand you." He smirked.
"But even if they did, they wouldn't believe you because that would be a change of statement. And you would become doubtful to them." He added.
"Why would I change my statement ?" my voice was shaking, "I didn't give any statement about you."
"You did." Daniel sipped his coffee.
I stared at him with confusion written all over my face.
He understood my situation and explained, "Remember when a Cop asked you, "κ·Έλ λΉμ μ λ¨μμΉκ΅¬μ λκΉ? "
I remembered when Cops were asking me all this in the Korean language, and Daniel asked me to nod.
"Yeah. But what about that ?" I asked curiously.
"It means - Is he your boyfriend?
And you nodded your head. And the cop noted it down."
I felt my heart was going to stop with the shocks Daniel was giving me one by one.
"Why did he ask that to me ?" I still asked with a shaken voice.
"Because I told him that." Daniel gave a little smile.
"Why? Why did you do that ?" I demanded.
"Because I wanted to free you from those formalities as soon as possible. If I hadn't said that, you would've still sat there, waiting for all the formality checks." He explained.
He had good intentions for saying that according to him, or he just said that so he could kidnap me soon and sell me?
"Any more questions ?" Daniel asked politely.
"Can you let me go ?" I tried last time if he could let me go.
"No." He rejected me.
I took a deep breath, and I tried to dial my mom's number hiding from him and tried to make him busy with my talks.
I almost Dialled it when Daniel snatched my phone from my hand.
"That's very rude, Nuri. Being busy on your phone while talking to someone." He scoffed.
"Oh, you were calling your mom ?" He raised an eyebrow while studying my phone screen.
He disconnected the call. And I switched off my phone.
"I am offering you my house for free. And you're paying me like this ?" His face became serious.
"Let's go." He suddenly ordered.
I stared at him with fear and asked in a low tone, " Where?"
"Home." He answered while smiling.
"I am not going," I said.
I didn't know from where all the courage came suddenly, and I refused to go with him. I didn't know what would have happened to me if I'd go with him. I didn't even want to think about the consequences. I only thought about getting rid of him.
"You want to take advantage of a girl who is a foreigner and alone? I thought you were a good man." I said, almost crying.
"I will do something to go back to my country anyhow, but I'm not going with you. Human trafficker!" I yelled.
The people of the cafe started staring at us and whispering.
"Human trafficker ?" This time Daniel's eyes widened in shock.
"Yah! Are you crazy ?" He screamed back.
"What are you then, huh? Forcing me to live with you. You wanna take advantage of a woman who is alone?" I snapped.
Suddenly Daniel placed my passport and my phone on the table, and he stood up.
"Taking advantage of a woman is the least I want to do in my life." He murmured those words and left.
I stared at him as he paid our bill and exited the cafe with his belongings.
