Chapter 59: Chapter 59

●Daniel's P.O.V.●

When Nuri said, "I love you." all of a sudden, I didn't realise, She was going to save that little girl, risking her own life in danger.

" Oh No! ν•˜μ§€λ§ˆ !!!!!!!!" Nuri screamed, glancing at a distance, and I followed her gaze in confusion, but there was no one.

The kidnapper too, fell for her trick as I saw her rushing towards the kidnapper. My heartbeat fastened. I ran behind her.

Nuri kicked on that kidnapper's leg, and he fell to the floor while the gun dropped far from that kidnapper's hand.

Nuri was busy freeing that girl from Kidnapper's grip when he tried to reach for that gun again. I jumped between and snatched the gun out of his reach.

I threw it to an officer. Officer Jung rushed towards the kidnapper, and everything seemed to resolve finally.

But the kidnapper grabbed Nuri before she could run away.

He pushed her down from the first floor and tried to escape from the staircase.

Officer Jung shot that kidnapper on his leg, and he fell from the staircase, losing his balance, and ended up hitting his head on the end wall of the first staircase.

I knew it was not much height to get killed by falling from the first floor, but the building was filled with broken things and wreckage. If someone hit their head in that wreckage, they could die.

I felt my heartbeat stopping as I almost jumped to hold Nuri's hand.

Everything was going smoothly. How the hell did the situation change into life or death? I tried to keep my calm to get through the situation, but I couldn't.

My life was slipping away from me. After trying so much, I couldn't lose her. I couldn't.

I couldn't hold her hand, and Nuri fell on the ground floor as a scream came out of her mouth. And after that, I saw blood spreading around her. I froze there while staring at her face carrying a scared expression.

She stared at me for a long second before closing her eyes slowly. Time stopped.

I couldn't feel or hear anything around me. I kept staring at Nuri, who was now lying on the floor with blood spreading around her. The flashback of Nuri coming here to the moments I spent with her until now flashed before my eyes.

"I couldn't save her," I murmured as talking felt like a large load of work to me.

My hands and legs felt lifeless as I fell on my knees.

Suddenly Ray's face appeared before my eyes. He was saying something while I felt a little jerk on my body.

"D---ni---- ng---"

"Da--n-------"

"Da--ni--el Hy--ung--" I heard a faint whisper.

"DANIEL HYUNG!!!! WE NEED TO SAVE NURI!!! COME BACK TO YOUR SENSES!!!!"

Finally, Ray's screaming reached my ears as I felt the jerk on my body. I came back to reality as I realised I needed to take her to the hospital. I needed to save her. Ray rushed downstairs, and I tried to run, but I couldn't feel the power inside me as I noticed Nuri's blood-stained face from time to time.

Arriving on the ground floor, I saw Nuri's body was pierced by glasses in many places. I pulled out the glasses from her elbow, cuff, wrist, and shoulder. Every time I removed one glass piece from her body, I felt pain running through my own body.

I lifted Nuri from the ground as I ran towards a police Car. Ray followed me to the car and took the front seat beside the driver seat. Her blood was dripping down on my shirt from the wound with every second.

As soon as we got inside the Police car, the driver started the engine, and we moved towards the hospital.

I couldn't speak a word as Nuri was lying on my lap, and my body was filling up with her blood. I tried to touch her face with my trembling hand, but I stopped.

I couldn't gather the courage to touch her. Ray glanced behind from the front seat.

"Don't worry, Daniel Hyung. Nuri will be fine. Please don't lose hope. She will be fine." Ray said, but a teardrop escaped his eyes too. And he turned his head back again, wiping the teardrop.

The most disturbing thing was Nuri's lifeless face which was forcing me to think about every possible bad outcome. Suddenly my hand touched something sharp as I touched Nuri's head.

I tried to see what it was, and I found out a large piece of glass was pierced inside her head.

"There's a gl- glass pie-ce pierced in---side h-e-r head." I stuttered.

Ray glanced behind again, "What ?" His voice filled with disbelief.

"Should I pu-pull it out?" I asked with a timid voice.

"No! Don't do it. It will only increase the blood loss." Ray warned.

"Please speed up! She is dying here!" Ray screamed at the Police car driver.

"I'm trying my best!" the driver replied.

I glanced back at Nuri's face. My mind felt empty inside as I did so. I didn't know what was happening.

*************

"How did she get injured like this?" The doctor asked with disbelief.

I didn't know how to explain. Moreover, I was in a daze to answer anything. I kept staring at Nuri's blood-stained face.

"It is a complicated doctor. Please treat her as soon as possible." Ray requested.

"Fine. But if it is domestic violence. Her husband is going to jail." The doctor eyed me as he took the charge and ordered other nurses to prepare the ICU.

The nurses started pulling the wheeled stretcher where Nuri was lying unconsciously. And I kept following it. At the end of the hallway, the wheeled stretcher entered the ICU.

And the nurses closed the door from inside.

"Let me stay beside her!" I screamed as I felt I could never see her again.

"Let me!!" I yelled.

I banged on the ICU door.

Soon two hands stopped me from banging further on the ICU door.

"Daniel Hyung! Please! It's an ICU. Let them handle it. You can't go inside." Ray was crying while holding me back.

"She will be fine, right?" I asked Ray.

"She will be. " Ray assured me while wiping his tears.

I took a seat at a distance from the ICU as I kept staring at the room door.
