Chapter 35: Chapter 35

●Daniel's P.O.V.●

"I see...

But why is that?" Nuri asked suspiciously.

"Because-" I wanted to say something funny to tease her when someone interrupted me.

"Oh, Daniel?" I heard a familiar voice.

I turned my head to the left and saw the person I hated to see the most.

She walked closer to us, and soon she stood beside me, making direct eye contact. I was shocked to see her back in Seoul before I expected as the trip was supposed to last for two weeks, and it was barely one week. And I was more confused to see her at the restaurant near my apartment. This restaurant was very far from her actual address.

I asked with confusion, "Yoonah?"

"μ˜€λžœλ§Œμ— λ§Œλ‚˜μ„œ λ°˜κ°€μ›Œ λ‹€λ‹ˆμ—˜."

【Nice to meet you after a long time, Daniel.】 Yoonah said with a sweet tone.

"아직도 이 식당에 μ˜€λ‹ˆ?"

【You're still coming to this restaurant?"】

"아직도 λ‚  κ·Έλ¦¬μ›Œν•˜λŠ”κ΅¬λ‚˜?"

"【You still miss me ..huh?】," She added with a smirk.

"상상은 κ·Έλ§Œλ‘¬."

【Quit imagining.】

"μ€‘μš”ν•œ μ‚¬λžŒκ³Ό ν•¨κ»˜ μ™”μŠ΅λ‹ˆλ‹€."

【I am here with an important person.】 I said, making an annoyed face.

Yoonah's expression changed into confusion as she heard my sentence. She glanced at my opposite seat, where Nuri was staring at us with a confused face. I knew she couldn't understand what we were talking about at all. But I knew she understood it was Yoonah by our conversation.

"μ—¬μžλ“€μ΄ 또 λ„ˆν•œν…Œ λ‹¬λΌλΆ™λŠ”κ±°μ•Ό?"

【Are women clinging on to you again ?】 Yoonah sneered, turning her head back to me.

"κ·Έλ…€λŠ” μ™Έκ΅μΈμ²˜λŸΌ 보인닀."

【She looks like a foreigner..】

"이 μ—¬μžμ• κ°€ μš°λ¦¬κ°€ 무슨 말을 ν•˜λŠ”μ§€ λͺ» μ•Œμ•„λ“€μ—ˆλ‚˜?"

"【Doesn't this girl understand what we're talking about?】" She asked with another smirk.

I rolled my eyes.

"우릴 κ·Έλƒ₯ λ‚΄λ²„λ €λ‘˜ 수 μ—†μ–΄?"

【Can't you just leave us alone?】" I yelled throwing a disgusted look.

Suddenly, she turned to Nuri and said, "Hey...I am Yoonah. Daniel's girlfriend."

My eyes went wide. I started coughing hard, hearing Yoonah's comment. I glanced at Nuri, who was equally shocked.

Nuri glanced at me with confused eyes. I grabbed a glass of water and drank it. Finally feeling better, I replied, "Ex!"

"She is my ex-girlfriend."

Yoonah let out a chuckle as she glanced back at me again and said, "Ohh...Daniel.

Don't be shy! We still feel something for each other."

I started coughing again. This time Nuri passed her glass of water to my side, giving me a suspicious look. Yoonah said those lies so smoothly that it sounded real.

I had a mini heart attack thinking Nuri would believe her and was going to think of me as a liar. But I wasn't.

As soon as I put the glass back on the table after drinking water, I said, "I don't feel the same as you!

And as I said, stop disturbing us. You can leave." I said, making an angry face.

Yoonah chuckled. I hated her behavior. She always tried to keep other girls away from me. But it helped sometimes because I didn't want another girl playing with my life again.

Yoonah thought I didn't protest her behavior until now because I was still in love with her. But I needed to make her understand it wasn't the truth.

Ignoring me, Yoonah turned to Nuri again.

"He is saying all this because I went to Tokyo without him. He is a kind of jealous type, you know. Miss ?" Yoonah said with a smile, "Oh...sorry...

Where are my manners?

What's your name ?"

"Holy crap! What did she just say ??" I felt anger building up inside me as I heard Yoonah making lies. I opened my mouth to give her the piece of my mind, but before that, Nuri replied.

"Hello, Yoonah Eonni!

I am Nuri. Daniel's present girlfriend !" Nuri said, smiling and bowing.

I closed my mouth again and gulped. I was in a daze, thinking if I heard the right thing. Did Nuri just say, "Daniel's present girlfriend?"

I blinked several times, staring at her confident face.

"Mwo?" Yoonah gasped.

"Daniel's girl-Girlfriend .....??" Yoonah looked stunned as she turned her head back to me, looking for confirmation.

I chuckled. Yoonah's facial expression was so funny that I laughed a little.

I nodded my head, confirming Nuri's words with a smile.

"그럴 리가 μ—†λ‹€! 거짓말이라고 λ§ν•΄μ€˜! λ§ν•΄μ€˜!!!!"

"【It can't be true! Tell me you're lying! Tell me !!!】" Yoonah raised her voice.

"μ•„λ‹ˆ, 그것은 사싀이닀."

【No, It is true..】 I said, maintaining my smile.

Yoonah glanced back at Nuri with fire in her eyes, "You !!"

"If you don't want to be more embarrassed, leave us! Alone!" I ordered.

Yoonah glared at me before leaving the place. I heaved a sigh.

"Are you okay ?" I heard a concerned voice.

I shifted my gaze to my opposite seat, where Nuri was staring at me with worry.

"I am fine," I said.

"I am sorry, you asked me to play your girlfriend only in front of the people you would ask me to play.

But I felt like I needed to shut her up." Nuri explained.

Her explanation left me speechless. I remembered when I asked her to play the role of my girlfriend one time. She said the sentence only because she wanted to save me.

My heart broke into a million pieces. I realised I was dreaming without a base for this relationship. I wasn't anything to Nuri except a kind stranger.

Lowering my head sadly, I answered, "Yeah, right... Thank you."

My words came out as a whisper. Nuri seemed not to notice it.

Soon our food appeared, and we concentrated on eating.

"Btw... Thank God you two broke up.

She seemed toxic." Nuri said and then stuffed her mouth with food.

I hummed in response.

"Daniel ?"

"Hmmm," I replied without looking at her.

"I guess you have an image of a girl you want to date for real and get settled down with ?" She asked casually.

I stopped eating. I was thinking about how to confess my feelings to Nuri. I had already pictured her in my future with me. I hummed again.

" Tell me! I want to know what Almighty Daniel's choice is !" Her eyes sparkled.

I smiled bitterly.

"An entertaining girl without even trying.

A short girl so I can tease her with her height. She should have a big pair of eyes so I could forget my worries only by looking into her eyes.

Someone who can take care of me like a mother. And she should be good at arguing because I am going to tease her a lot." I explained staring at her eyes.

Nuri blinked a couple of times.

"That's a lot! But I hope you can find someone like that." Nuri concentrated on eating her food again.

That stupid girl didn't even realise that I described her from the first point to last. I sighed.

"What about you?

What kind of man do you want to get settled with ?" I asked with some hope in my mind.

"Uhm...Someone to get settled with?

I never really thought specifically about a man like that, but...." She stopped.

"But...?" - I asked, being curious.

"I would like to stay with a guy who could be loyal and on whom I can rely on bad days." She explained.

I smiled. At least I had those qualities.

"But it is all a waste of thinking about that man because my parents' decision will be final upon marrying that guy." Nuri sighed.

My eyes went wide.

"So if your parents choose someone for you, you will marry him ???" I asked with fear in my voice.

"You can say that, but I will also talk to him, so I can know if he is the right guy for me or not."

I sighed in relief. I was relieved to know that Nuri would at least test the guy before choosing.

"What do you think about marrying a foreigner ?" I asked, gathering up all my courage.

Nuri was drinking water. But after hearing my question, she choked on the water. I blinked, staring at her. Nuri wiped her mouth.

"Marrying a foreigner? Don't scare me like that.

I could only wait for death if I pronounced any boy's name other than a Hindu.

Foreigners are a big no!!!!!!!!!" Nuri explained with her high-pitched voice.

My last hope was gone. I sighed, glancing at the floor, and kept the fork down at the plate.

"What happened ?"

"Nothing!

Just lost my appetite!!" I said, making an annoyed face.

"Foreigners are not monsters, you know !" I added with a straight face.

"Heh..well...

I know they aren't. But why are you behaving like that?" Nuri said while smiling awkwardly.

"Nothing!

Just eat your food! Don't mind me !" I narrowed my eyes on her.

She gulped then nodded. And soon she started eating her food again. And here I was dealing with the annoyance.
