Chapter 29: Chapter 29

●Nuri's P.O.V.●

"You don't have-" Daniel again cut off my sentence in the middle.

"I was brought up in an orphanage." He uttered the words slowly.

"Or-Orphanage?" I repeated his words.

"I was abandoned by my parents,"

Daniel uttered without any emotion.

"I am sorry." I couldn't understand what I should say here.

"It's fine.

It had happened a long time ago.

After my parents abandoned me, I faced many things on the streets alone until my father found me." Daniel was calm like a dark forest yet deep.

"How old were you then?" I asked.

"7, I think, or 6---" Daniel tried to remember.

"I think I was 7."

"That's really sad."

"Okay. Let's not talk about this.

I feel weird." Daniel started eating again.

"Oh…okay.

But if you want to talk about this, I am always ready to listen." I assured him.

Daniel paused for a second before concentrating on eating again.

"Okay, let's talk about music. My favorite hobby is listening to music." I said to change the gloomy mood.

"I can't say I love music, but the music keeps life entertaining," Daniel replied.

"So k-drama or k-pop ?" I asked, being excited.

"If I say none of them?" Daniel said casually.

"Then I'll say you're lying." I rolled my eyes.

I couldn't believe in any way that Daniel didn't like K-pop or K-dramas even though he lived in South Korea. How could he not like K-drama or K-pop? He glanced up at me then smirked.

"Well, maybe I like the k-pop songs." Daniel again concentrated on food.

"I like ABT !!!!!!!!!!" I almost screamed. 【A fictionalised boy band in South Korea】

"Fine, fine, Miss India. Hold your horses for a second.

Don't disturb our neighbors." Daniel sighed.

"Yaaahhh!! You're the most boring person I have seen in South Korea!" I yelled.

"Yah! Keep your voice low." Daniel yelled back.

"I won't, you boring person!" I protested.

"Fine! Then who is interesting in your eyes?

You can go live with that person and leave my house immediately!" Daniel said calmly.

"Did you just say to leave your house ?" I gasped.

"Wow! Your ears are working perfectly fine.

Congratulations!" Daniel kept eating his food casually as if nothing happened.

"Okay! Fine.

I am leaving." I said with a pout.

Daniel didn't even bother to look at me.

"Ahem ahem!

I said I'll leave right now!" I said again.

This time Daniel pointed his chopsticks towards the exit and said, "Exit is in that way!"

I gasped.

"You didn't just say that!" I crossed my hands over my chest.

Daniel didn't look up and concentrated on eating. I didn't get any attention from him, so I moved towards the door. After opening the door, I glanced back at Daniel, who was still not bothered by anything. Then I exited through the door.

I stood there for a few minutes but heard nothing. But then I heard footsteps approaching the door, and I ran upstairs and hid, pretending as if I really left. From the 6th floor, it was hard to find out where the footsteps were going, but after some minutes, I heard nothing.

I came down to the stairs of the 5th floor and tried to peek at his apartment door. Daniel wasn't there.

"He must've gone downstairs to find me." I giggled.

I stood in front of his apartment door to surprise him. In reality, I wanted to joke about how I pranked him and make fun of him.

*************

Almost 1 hour passed, but he never came back. I was not sure now if he really went to find me or just checked his surroundings and went back inside.

I sat in front of this door, feeling sad and ignored.

"How could he not care that I left all of a sudden and wasn't back after so much time had passed?

Is he really inside?" I asked myself.

"Maybe I shouldn't have left in that dramatic way?" I mumbled.

I felt guilty for expecting so much from a guy I knew only for a couple of days.

I stood up and decided to ring the doorbell. But just as I reached the doorbell, my hand stopped on its own.

I was mad, feeling betrayed. If it were Daniel, I would've looked for him at least. A little part of me wanted him to find me, to care for me. To be worried about me. But.

But why couldn't he even come out of his apartment and call my name and say that "Miss India, I'm not in the mood."

Maybe I would have been happy seeing it.

I was thinking all of it when someone called my name.

"Nuri?"

I jumped, being scared.

*************

●Daniel's P.O.V.●

Nuri gasped.

"You didn't just say that!" She crossed her hands over her chest.

I didn't look up and concentrated on eating. I heard Nuri moving towards the exit because she didn't get any attention from me. I peeked a little to see what she was doing. As soon as she looked back at me, I acted as if I wasn't bothered at all.

Suddenly I heard the door opening. I glanced at the door and saw Nuri exited through the door, closing it behind.

I stared at the door for a minute.

"Have she really left?"

Getting no answer, I stood up.

I thought for a few seconds. Then I moved near the door and placed my left ear on it, trying to hear anything from Nuri.

But I couldn't hear anything.

" She wouldn't have….."

I started thinking if she had left being mad.

"What if she really-"

I became scared, thinking she left. I opened the door with the speed of light and ran out of my apartment.

As I came outside, I saw there was no sign of Nuri. I searched left and right. Then I decided to go downstairs. Maintaining a fast speed, I stepped down to the downstairs floor. It was empty.

I paused for a second. Then I kept going to the next floors through the stairs as I felt panic building up inside my stomach.

I stood on the ground floor alone, not having any traces of Nuri. I pulled out my phone from the pocket and dialled her number. It rang, but no one received it. Now I was sweating.

"Has she really left? No…I.."

I scratched my head, thinking about what possibly she had done or where she had gone. Sweat slid down on my neck from my temple. I called her name loudly enough for her to listen but got no answers.

Finally, taking a deep, long breath, I got up in the elevator and reached the 5th floor where my apartment was.

I was thinking of going upstairs to find her this time. The building had 25 floors. But it was Nuri I was looking for. Even 250 floors didn't matter.

The elevator beeped and the door opened with a metallic sound. I exited the elevator in a rush and almost approached the stairs. But I stopped when I saw a figure in front of my apartment door.

A woman figure was sitting in front of my apartment door, staring at the ground.

It was Nuri.

I sighed in relief finally, watching her.

I felt my legs had no power all of a sudden, so I grabbed the sidewall to stand properly. Watching Nuri safe and sound made me feel awfully relieved.

I didn't understand until now that she had the power to make me wince, only because she was out of my sight for some minutes.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds before opening them again to notice what she was doing. Nuri looked somewhat guilty.

Suddenly, she stood up and reached for my doorbell, but then she stopped midway.

I smiled stupidly.

I knew her belongings were here at my house. She couldn't leave without her things. But still, I ran behind her to stop her.

"This is what you had made me, Miss India," I murmured as I walked to the little guilty figure.

My steps were quiet. So Nuri couldn't understand that I was approaching her until I called her name.

"Nuri ?"

She jumped a little being called by her name and spun around. As soon as our eyes met, her eyes widened.

I wasted no time and took her into my tight embrace.

"Thank you for not leaving Miss India," I whispered into her ears. My nostrils filled with the smell of roses. My heartbeats again increased by her touch.

She stood there like a statue for a few seconds, but then she started crying while hugging me back.

"I thought you were not going to find me," Nuri said in between her sniffing.

"I can never do that to you." I patted her back as I tried to comfort her.
