Chapter 54: Chapter 54
Two days. It's been two days since that incident. What was supposed to be a very beautiful night turned out to be the crappiest of all and Farhan had no one but his father to blame. He parked in front of the Rehman villa and locked his car whilst taking long-deep breaths.
You got this! Mumbling to himself, he nervously walked into the porch and rang their doorbell. A small girl of around sixteen years opened it for him. Flashing her a warm smile, he looked behind her. Hoping to get a glimpse of her. But as far as his eyes could go, he only saw her mother. Who was surprised to see him, "Assalam Alaikum, Farhan beta. Come inside."
"Walaikum Assalam."
Giving her a small smile, he came in and handed her the sweet box which he brought as a formality," there's no need for this." his mother in law shook her head politely whilst taking the sweet box and ushers him to sit on the sofa.
" How is uncle, auntie?" Farhan asked while his eyes roamed around the living room hoping to see her, but was distracted by his mother in law again," he is okay. He'd be glad to see you here, he just slept but I can wake him up if you want."
He shook his head in no, "of course not! Let him rest." Fathima smiled in return and called out the maid, "prepare tea for the guest and inform Natasha to come downstairs."
Farhan's head snapped at that, as he glanced at the way of the maid. Fathima had a sad smile on her face, "she's been awful in these two days."
"I am sorry." he replied genuinely, who shook her head, "fights are common in marriages, Farhan beta. How you work it out is what matters. It's alright."
Scratching his chin nervously, Farhan asked, "can I go and meet her?" His mother in law smiled at him knowingly, "of course you can. You know where her room is right?" he nodded in positive, eagerly.
"I know." grinning happily Farhan sprinted upstairs. Hoping for solving everything and taking her back home. At any cost. Willingly or unwillingly. He won't go back without her today, that's what he vowed to himself and was determined to take her back with him.
Farhan's heart was thumping at an uneven rate as he took slow steps towards her room, but was stopped abruptly as he heard her talking with someone.
"He shouldn't know that, Fawad." Natasha rolled her eyes, who gave her an amused look.
"Are you going to hide it forever or what?" Fawad, her cousin asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I am. It took me a lot of courage to tell you and no. I'm not going to tell him. It's going to be a secret between us. Only us." Natasha huffed, whilst looking at herself in the mirror. She has been nervous ever since the maid told her about her husband's sudden arrival and wanted to look her best as she'd go and meet him.
"Don't you think he should be knowing about the love of your life? He has all rights to know." Fawad raised his brows at her. She only shrugged in response, "you're impossible." he mouthed to her in disbelief.
"I know." Natasha grinned slightly but the grin disappears as soon as she saw Farhan at her door's entrance through the mirror, "what are you doing here?"
"Weren't you supposed to be downstairs?" she had the nerve to yell at him. Farhan was fuming in rage from inside. But he controlled himself.
"I thought I'd surprise you, but was surprised instead." stepping into her room as though he owned it, Farhan took a seat on her bed. Natasha had her mouth agape as she eyed her cousin and then at her husband.
"I'll be downstairs." Fawad left the room to give the couple some privacy.
"Who is he?"
"My cousin," Natasha replied coldly whilst playing with the hem of her shawl. Farhan crossed his legs and folded his arms against his chest as he looked at her.
"How much did you hear?" without beating around the bushes, Natasha asked him bluntly, who raised his brows with an amused look on his face.
"Everything I wanted to hear? There's nothing new anyway. I already know everything."
The sigh of relief on her face only provoked him further.
"Can I ask you something?" Natasha nodded slowly whilst walking to her closet and rummaged through it to distract herself. A sudden shiver ran down her spine when his breath fanned over her neck and the next thing she knew, he was standing behind her.
How the heck?
"Look at me; when I'm talking with you." he subtly made her face him, whilst pressing her against the closet door and placed his hands on either side, making sure she doesn't escape. Her eyes widened at that as she gave him a look of disbelief.
"Do you still love that guy?" she opened her mouth to speak but was cut off rudely by him, "please tell me only the truth."
"Which guy are you talking about?" she feigned innocence. Not wanting to lie. She didn't want him to know that it was him who she loved like a madwoman but at the same time, she cannot exactly lie about unloving him. Because that can never happen.
"I'm sure we both know who I'm talking about." Farhan looked down into her green eyes as he stated that in amusement.
"I-I." not hearing a straight no only proved that she still loved him but he couldn't care less. She was his wife and he will not leave her for some random guy.
"You promised me, remember? You promised me that you won't break my heart. I'm not letting you go, even if you still love that guy." Farhan frowned in anger.
Natasha opened her mouth and closed it again as she fell short of words. Why was he so dumb?
"I won't leave you." she huffed in anger. Why does he keep thinking that all the time?
"I won't let you go in the first place." his one hand goes to tuck her silky hair strands behind her ears, as she frowned at him in return.
"Did you eat?" she looked away in anger, he tilted her head and made her face him.
"Look at me when I'm talking with you." this new side of him was kind of annoying but she finds him hot nevertheless. His usual chocolate cologne was such a big distraction to her, like always.
"Why do you care? Where were you for the past two days?" Natasha snapped at him angrily, making him gape at her.
"Seriously? It was you who texted me saying that you needed space and that you want to stay here. You did not even answer my calls and then throw the blames on me?" the audacity though.
"So? You should have tried harder. I text you to leave me alone means you leave me alone, huh? What type of husband are you?" Natasha muttered angrily and he didn't know if he should laugh at her or be mad. He chose the latter and kept a straight face even though from inside he had this sudden urge to pull her cheeks. She is so cute when she is mad.
"Sorry. I know, I should have tried harder." Farhan replied whilst fighting off a smile. Natasha widened her eyes again. Did he just apologize for no fault of his?
"Do you forgive me?" he asked so cutely that her heart skipped a beat. First of all, staying so close to him like this was doing weird things to her stomach and then he behaves like this. Natasha was a goner already. She nodded her head in a daze which made him grin happily, but then the grin was replaced with a worried look as he realized why they had to stay away in the first place.
"Uh, Natasha. The other night, about that. Look, I'm sorry." she stomped on his foot making him wince in pain, "I don't want to talk about that night." by saying so, she ducked from below his hands and heaved an inner sigh. Staying so close to him is very dangerous.
Farhan turned to look at her, who was staring at him weirdly.
"I won't marry her." he began to speak but was stopped midway by her furious glare, "please Farhan. I do not want to talk about that night. I know you will not marry that stupid Alisha." rolling her eyes, she continued, "but don't ever talk about that night again."
He nodded his head cluelessly, but a smirk formed on his lips, "you seriously don't want to talk about that night?"
"I didn't speak french, did I?" she snapped at him, angrily.
"Not even this?" pulling her waist towards him, he smashed his lips on hers. Standing so close to her and having to stare at her talk angrily has tempted him to kiss her again. Nothing stopped him this time. He kissed her with all his might.
Natasha's heart skipped a beat, her cheeks turned in the deepest shade of red as she responded to his sudden kiss. His hands cupped her face as he deepened the kiss, she was still in a daze as her lips moved in sync with his. He was so good at this.
They both wanted to do this for a while now and were extremely happy with this new found comfort and progress in their relationship. Which gave them the courage to kiss whenever they wanted.
He pulled back quickly with a teasing smile on his face, "you still don't want to talk, I mean not even this?"
She blushed crimson whilst shaking her head in negative. The blush on her face deepens as she saw the room door wide open; anyone could have seen that. Which made her shut the door in horror, her cheeks still as red.
"I don't want to talk about that night, ever again. Please." Natasha said meekly as she fidgeted with her fingers, he pulled her into an unexpected hug this time, breathing in her fragrance. God, he missed her so much.
"Fine. But you should know, I'd never marry anyone else. Trust me." she nodded her head hesitantly. Her heart thumping so damn fast as she placed her head against his chest.
"I know you wouldn't."
"Then why didn't you come back home? I missed you, like crazy." a sad smile formed on her lips as she hugged him back. She missed him too. More than he can imagine.
"I just wanted some space to clear my mind. I'd be coming back home today anyway. My mother would have made sure to kick me out of here." he grinned at that.
"I like your mother." Natasha tried to pull back from the hug but he held her tighter.
"Don't. Let me just hug you." her already red face was now on fire. Why the hell does he have such an impact on her?
"I missed you, Natasha." he whispered against her hair, she became slightly teary-eyed whilst humming in yes," I missed you too, Farhan." So much.
"Please don't leave me like this again. Not even for two days," he muttered firmly whilst staring at her slightly moist eyes, who nodded her head in yes.
"I won't."
Placing a soft kiss on her forehead, he tightened the hug again. Natasha shuts her eyes pure in bliss; absorbing these little moments one by one. It was nothing compared to how she has imagined her day to be, but she isn't complaining anyway. She could remain like this all day without getting tired. His embrace was that comfortable.
Farhan on the other hand was scared.
He was scared at the realization of what if he is falling in love with his wife?
What terrified him more was the fact that she was still in love with someone else. If only he knew.
