Chapter 9: Chapter 9
The next morning Dimitri woke up to a furious Rosalie. He was tempted to let go of her, but with a smirk his grip on her tightened.
"Good morning!" He sang.
She scrunched up her nose, "You reek of alcohol."
"Well, I did go to the bar..."
"Still...gross. Go shower."
Dimitri chuckled as he sat up, stretching out his muscles. "Relax, what did I do? You seem pissed."
"Many things, Dimitri, many things."
She quickly escaped the room once Dimitri was in the shower, feeling insanely bothered. She swallowed, ignoring the fire in her core. She mentally scolded herself, the second she's that close to a man she's horny. She was disgusted with herself.
"Sweetheart, it's called heat. You're due." Her wolf sounded.
She sighed, she could hear the smirk in her wolf's voice. She stormed into the kitchen to see Dimitri sitting at the table. She froze mid-step, furrowing her brow in confusion.
He glanced at her with an equally confused expression, "You okay?"
"You were just...upstairs in the bathroom..." She mumbled, frowning.
"No I wasn't, I just got here." He replied, tilting his head.
She shook her head, "Dimitri, if this some sort of game-
"Oh, you two met. Great!"
She spun around to see Dimitri walking in, a smile on his face. She blinked a few times until it finally registered.
"You're a fucking twin?" She gasped.
Dimitri nodded, "That's my older twin, Damon."
"Nice to meet you."
She turned back around and shook Damon's hand before running her hand through her hair.
"Now I have to deal with two of you? Fan-fucking-tastic!" She fumed.
"Awe, am I really that bad to deal with?" Dimitri chuckled.
Rosalie scowled at him, "Yes."
Damon laughed, "She's a feisty one, I thought those kind of girls weren't your type."
"Well...she sort of grows on you." Dimitri replied, taking a sip of water.
Rosalie swallowed, "Well, it was great meeting Satan's twin, but I have to shower. I smell like alcohol thanks to somebody."
Dimitri grinned, "You're welcome."
She rolled her eyes and turned to leave when Damon uttered out the name, "Cyrus". She faced them again and folded her arms across her chest.
"What about him?" She questioned.
Damon frowned, "His sister walked in to see him on the ground. Attempted suicide. Funny, she's suddenly acting like the hero when she's the villain."
Rosalie completely tensed up, her eyes widened at the news. Dimitri saw the specks of concern and smiled softly at her.
"Would seeing him make you happy?" He asked.
She swallowed and shook her head. "I can't."
"Why? Afraid of the bond?"
Even though he knew he loved her, he also knew that the bond would make her need to see him. Rosalie gave him a grateful look which made him smile more. As she turned and left the kitchen he sighed.
Damon raised an eyebrow, "You're testing her."
Dimitri looked up, "Is it bad?"
"No, but you need to know that Cyrus is her original mate. The bond will either grow stronger or...they'll completely reject each other."
Rosalie nervously clasped her hands together, her mind going a mile a minute. She didn't have a problem checking on Cyrus, after all, they needed to have a talk. It was the pack she didn't want to face, she knew her anger towards them would come back and she would say hurtful words. When they had finally reached the packhouse she hopped out.
The minute her old beta saw her he immediately smiled.
"Luna! You're alive!" He beamed, running up to her.
She shook her head, her anger surfacing. "It's nice to see you're well, Jason, but haven't forgiven you yet."
He frowned, but she could tell he understood. Dimitri held her close as they walked into the packhouse, earning curious looks. Shock washed over her old pack members when they saw Dimitri. She noticed the one girl she loathed, Amelia.
Amelia seemed somewhat relieved when she saw Rosalie. She ran up
to her and sighed.
"I did something horrible." She stated.
Rosalie frowned, "Well, besides existing, what else?"
Amelia nodded, "I deserve that, but I...I forced Cyrus to cheat on you. He didn't want to, but...I had to. The boss told me to. I can explain the whole thing to you, it's very complicated. But he does love you, I just want you to know that."
Anger. That's all Rosalie could feel as she glared at the slightly frightened Amelia.
"You mean...you ruined our relationship because of your own issues?" She snapped.
Amelia shook her head, "My life was at risk!"
"You should have asked us for help instead of ruining us."
"I didn't completely ruin you, now you know the truth, you two can get back together."
Dimitri stiffened when Amelia spoke those words, his heart skipped a beat as well. Rosalie just stared at Amelia with a clenched jaw.
She looked down, "I can't choose."
"What do you mean, you can't choose?" Amelia snapped.
Rosalie swallowed, "I...I..."
"Spit it out!"
With tears pooling in her eyes she grabbed onto Dimitri's hand.
"I'm falling in love with someone else."
Amelia glared at Rosalie, her eyes black with rage. "How could you cheat on my brother like that?" She snarled.
Rosalie laughed, "How could I cheat? Honey, being in love someone else but staying friends isn't cheating. Besides, we're not even dating and never will be. You caused all of this because you're selfish. So, don't get butt hurt and bitchy with me. Now, where is he?"
"Right here."
They all turned to see Cyrus weakly lean against the wall, his face pale and his eyes dull. Rosalie felt pity for him as she noticed his horrible state he was in. She walked over and wrapped am around him so she could support him. She gave Dimitri a pleading look, he quickly caught on and went to the other side of Cyrus.
"Cyrus, you're supposed to be resting." Amelia whispered.
He glared at her, "And you care why?"
She didn't say anything else as they walked up the stairs. Once they reached his room Rosalie felt a ache in her chest. They carefully laid him down and wrapped the blanket around him.
"Dimitri, could I talk to him, in private?" Rosalie questioned.
Dimitri nodded before leaving, quietly shutting the door. Rosalie sighed and sat on the edge of the bed, trying to figure out what she should say.
"Rosalie."
She turned to see Cyrus looking at her with sorrowful eyes. "I'm sorry."
As a tear rolled down his cheek she smiled a little. She gently wiped it away.
"I can't choose, Cyrus." She murmured.
He smiled at her, for the first time in a long time, it reached his eyes. "You don't have to."
She stared at him with shock, "Wh-what?"
"I'm not going to make you choose. You're happy with Dimitri."
"Well, yeah, but you're my mate. How do I choose?"
He chuckled and gently stroked her cheek. "Like I said, you don't have to. I can't do that to you, yes, I do love you. I always have loved you, but I had done horrible things to you. I should have told you Amelia's plan instead of being a coward and agreeing with it. I panicked, I didn't want to see her or anybody kill you. I didn't..." He sighed.
"When you turned rogue it scared me. I searched for you, I wasn't going to force you to come back, but at least convince you to join another pack. If you were killed because of me then I don't know what I would of done. Stay with Dimitri, you both need each other. I'll say the words and it'll be done."
Rosalie watched him with sad eyes, "Cyrus..."
"I, Cyrus Jay Blood, reject you, Rosalie Amber Blood as my mate and Luna." He stated, his voice cracking.
Rosalie had tears running down her cheeks, "I, Rosalie Amber Blood accept your rejection."
As the bond broke Cyrus winced, as an attempt to comfort him she wrapped her arms around him.
"Thank you." She whispered.
He chuckled, "You're welcome. I hope we can remain friends after this."
"Of course, but promise me one thing."
"What?"
"You won't ever try to kill yourself again."
He nodded, "I promise."
After her talk with Cyrus Dimitri walked back in and spoke with him. He felt bad as he saw the torn expression on Cyrus' face. He knew he was in debt to him, instead of stealing Rosalie from
him he did what would make her happy.
He let her go.
"Bleach mixed with small silver bits? Cyrus, really? My goddess, how the hell are you still alive?" Rosalie fumed.
Cyrus shrugged, "Got too painful. I'm fine now."
"Actually, the doctor said you're immune system is going to be really weak for a while and the dangerous mixture started an infection in your lungs." Dimitri stated, reading the papers.
Cyrus scowled at him, "You are not helping my case."
Dimitri smirked, "Well, I was always taught to tell the truth."
"Wait, infection in your lungs?" Rosalie asked as the two men glared at each other.
"You're like an annoying little brother." Cyrus grumbled.
"I already have three older brothers who I annoy, what's wrong with annoying someone else? Gets boring after a while." Dimitri taunted.
"Dimitri, stop instigating and Cyrus, how did you get an infection?" Rosalie sounded.
Cyrus turned his attention to her, "I puked and then inhaled at the same time and well..."
"Now it makes sense. Sorry man, but you're an idiot." Dimitri said as he stood up.
"Thank you." Cyrus replied sarcastically.
Rosalie sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "You're sick, I'm in Dimitri's pack now, and Jason doesn't want to be alpha. This pack doesn't have an alpha currently. At least one that's not on bed rest."
Dimitri frowned, "There's always the combining pack thing."
"In all honesty, that would be best for the pack. They're already weak..." Cyrus sighed as he started to become tired.
Rosalie glanced at him, "You need to rest."
"I'm fine." Cyrus replied stubbornly.
She rolled her eyes, "You are the most stubborn asshole I've ever met."
"And you're the most annoying bitch I've ever met." He replied with a grin.
Dimitri chuckled as the two continued to argue, trying their hardest to insult each other. He couldn't help but admit that they seemed like they would make a perfect couple. Jealousy pinched his heart, but he ignored it. He trusted Rosalie and knew she wouldn't cheat on him.
He started to think over the combining packs, this pack wasn't very large and he had a lot of room in his territory. He patiently waited for them to quit arguing before voicing his thoughts.
"Oh, for crying out loud, shut up! You threw that pie and hit that teacher first? And while we're bringing up things from the past, who decided to throw a desk at some guy during class?" Rosalie snapped.
Cyrus smirked, "Rosalie, that was you."
She frowned and sat on the bed, "Asshole."
"Bitch."
"Okay, now that we got that out of the way. Combining the packs would be a smart thing to do. Especially with the rogue number growing." Dimitri voiced.
"He's right, this pack needs help." Cyrus yawned.
Rosalie nodded, "I guess we're combining the packs then."
