Chapter 46: Chapter 46
Dimitri glared at Rosalie, that one glare making it known to his wife that he wasn't going to talk to his daughter.
"I don't care if I'm being childish. If she thinks Christine would be the better parent then, why should I even bother?" He mind-linked her.
Rosalie frowned at him, but didn't say anything else. She knew that getting through to him when he's hurting was next to impossible.
Sara picked at her pancakes, she felt horrible for what she did. She knew she was wrong and deserved to be grounded, maybe even slapped across the face. But she couldn't change what she said. Not in a million years would she want Christine to be parenting her. She would probably be dead now, considering she's weaker than her sister.
After breakfast she followed Dimitri down the hall and ran up to him.
"Dad, wait-
"Go away." He snapped.
Sara skidded to a halt, "I'm sorry. I know what I did was wrong, I'm just scared."
"I don't care."
"But I'm so-
"Just fuck off!" He snarled before slamming his office door shut.
Sara sighed as she sat against the wall, tears dropped from her eyes. She shook her head, telling herself that she was an idiot and just like Christine.
"Yes, you're an idiot, but not like your mom." Her wolf scolded.
"But Christine, my own biological mother, couldn't even love me! What if Jason leaves me for someone else?"
Her wolf was silent, Sara couldn't blame her, she knew she was a mess. Jason had told her last night that she better spend time with him later on or she'll regret it. She hated having such a controlling mate, but she knew she wouldn't get anyone else. No one else would ever love her like Jason claims to.
She eventually stood up to make her way back to her siblings, but someone grabbed her by the wrist. She spun around to see Jason glaring at her.
"Where do you think you're going?" He snarled.
Sara started to shake, "T-to my siblings. You said I could-
"I don't think so."
Jason dragged her to their room and threw her onto the ground before closing the door. Sara quickly crawled away from him, her body shaking with fear.
"You are to spend time with me." He snarled.
Sara gulped, "B-but you said I could spend time with them today."
"Well, too bad."
He grabbed her by the hair and slapped her across the face. Sara whimpered, knowing she was pathetic. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't force herself to hit her mate. He would leave her, just like he threatened multiple times.
"I'm sorry." She cried.
"You're never sorry, you bitch!"
He slapped her again before punching her. She didn't make any sound though, she instead, fell to the ground. As he kicked her she stayed silent, allowing her tears to run down her cheeks.
"P-please just during the day...I-I'll...have sex with you during the night. I miss my family."
Jason froze at this, he smirked and grabbed her by the jaw.
"Good girl. You know the rules?"
"D-don't tell them anything."
"That's a good little wolf."
Sage watched as Sara walked over to the couch, she narrowed her eyes at the slight limp in her sister's step. She noticed how Sara made sure not to touch anyone, she curled up at the end of the couch and stared at the ground.
"Sara, are you okay?" She asked.
Her sister didn't answer.
She frowned, "Hey, Sara."
Sara slowly looked up, "I-I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Sage. I-I'm sure. Just please leave it alone."
Sage eyed her sister carefully, knowing something was extremely wrong with her sister. She didn't push it though, she didn't want to risk her sister storming out and going to some other place. Where she can't watch over her.
Throughout the movie Sara stayed in the same spot. She would flinch whenever her siblings cheered at some scene in the movie. Sage couldn't stop checking on her sister, she growing more concerned by each passing minute.
She had briefly wondered if Sara and her father got into another fight, but she saw her father go into his office before she had run upstairs. All Sara did was sit in the hallway.
After the movie was over she grabbed her sister and dragged her into an empty hall.
"Sara, what's going on? Are you okay?" She asked, worried.
"I'm fine, I just have a headache." Sara mumbled.
"Are you-
"I'm fine, Sage! Just please, leave it alone! Please!"
Sage frowned, but nodded and let her sister run upstairs. She shook her head, trying to figure out what was causing her sister's sudden mood swings.
"What was with the shouting?" Dimitri asked.
Sage shrugged, "Something is wrong with Sara and she won't tell me. She just...acted weird. Wouldn't let anyone touch her and stayed at the very end of the couch."
"She's probably pmsing or something."
"She's done that before, but not this. Dad, this is different. Trust me, I know. I'm a very observant person."
"I know." He sighed. "Keep an eye on her."
Sage nodded as he walked away.
What is going on, Sara? She wondered.
The next morning Sage walked to her sister's room, worried about her. Even though their parents were angry with her, they were worried too.
She knocked softly on her door, "Sara? Are you okay?"
The door swung open to reveal one angry looking Jason.
"She's fine. Fuck off."
Sage glared at him, she quickly grabbed him by the jaw and dug her nails into his flesh.
"Why don't you fuck off instead? I'm going to go in and speak to my sister while you get your sorry ass out of here." She snarled.
She shoved him aside and made her way into the room, not caring about the fuming wolf behind her. She frowned when she saw some blood on the sheets and a few drops on the floor. She followed them to the bathroom where she found Sara sitting in the corner of the shower.
She frowned and walked forward, "Sara?"
Her sister immediately jumped up, "What the hell Sage?"
"Sorry, it's just...uh...did you guys..."
"Yes, we mated last night. It's pretty obvious. Now, leave." Jason cut in.
Sage sighed, "Jason, shut up for once. You're not the king here."
Sara gulped, "I-I'll talk to you later. I'm just going to shower th-that's all."
Sage nodded slowly, she looked down to see some blood running down her sister's leg. She then looked towards Jason to see him glaring at Sara.
"Alright."
She walked out into the room, followed by Jason. Before she left she spun around and glared at him.
"If I find out you're hurting my sister I'm going to kill you. She shouldn't be bleeding that much after sex unless it was forced." She threatened.
Jason scoffed at her, "She has her period."
"We don't get periods, dumbass."
An hour later Sara walked into the family room, her eyes showing her pain. She quickly sat down and curled up on the end of the couch again. This time, Rosalie and Dimitri were with them. Both of them watched her, frowning at her sudden change.
"Sara, honey, are you feeling okay?" Rosalie asked.
"Yeah, just tired." Sara mumbled.
Rosalie got up and went to feel her head when Sara flinched. Sage looked towards her dad.
"Something is wrong. And I think I know what." She mind-linked him.
"What?" Dimitri asked.
"Jason raped her, I think."
"Sage...if you want me to kill him, I'll need a confession from either him or your sister. I'll have hell from the council if I don't."
"So, you think he did?"
"I don't know, but if he did, I can't wait to kill him."
