Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Calix chased Diana who simply walked ahead lifelessly. He didn’t dare to face her but he felt the need to comfort her. After all, he was equally responsible for the injustice that she had to go through today.
“D-Diana” Calix called her from behind but she didn’t stop. He increased his pace when suddenly he felt her figure fading in the air. Shock entered his sapphire hues. Panicking, he tried to catch her but his shoes were abruptly glued to the floor.
“What the hell?”
Calix growled and again tried but soon his legs were also paralyzed. It was as if someone had tied his legs with an invisible rope.
“What is happening? DIANA!! DIANA, DIANA STOP!!” Calix screamed and struggled violently but Diana disappeared in thin air.
“NO!! DIANA!!!” Calix shouted and burst into heart-wrenching sobs. He knew what he had done with Diana was unforgivable. He knew everything yet chose to betray her. The girl was innocent yet he kept quiet just as he did in the past. He helped Zachary win her when he knew their end wouldn’t be good. He could have stopped this marriage but for his brother’s happiness, he broke the girl who was once full of life.
“What have I done? What will I say to Zac? How will I tell him that I ruined his house despite knowing the truth?” Calix cried and cried; the burden of guilt started to eat him out.
“Don’t worry.”
His ears perked up as soon as he heard that voice. Calix immediately turned his head and threw a murderous glare at the woman who was smiling at him like a creep.
“What have you done to Diana, Delphyne?” He raged, his eyes shooting daggers. Delphyne snorted and moved towards him, her heels clanking against the tiles.
“Nothing much. Just erased her from our lives.” She told him casually.
Calix looked at her in shock. “WHAT?? THAT MEANS YOU REVERTED THE TIMELINE? HOW DARE YOU!! I WILL KILL YOU, YOU SELFISH WOMAN!! JUST TO GET YOUR DAUGHTER BACK, YOU SNATCHED OUR HAPPINESS, DON’T YOU HAVE A CONSCIENCE??” He growled and tried to attack her but Delphyne simply moved back and laughed at his futile efforts.
Calix screamed like a maniac and fisted his hair, pulling them in frustration.
“WHAT HAVE I DONE? AHH!!!” He blared as soon as her dirty games registered in his mind. She tricked them.
Delphyne chuckled as she watched him flailing his arms. She was enjoying her outburst.
“Yes, I did. So what? A mother can do anything to save her children. But you know the best part Cal, Diana possesses the power to revoke this spell but I can guarantee you on my life that she won’t do that. The girl is so depressed and burdened with regret that she would never in her life do that She willingly backed out, Cal.” She said, shocking him more.
Calix couldn’t believe his ears. But soon it hit him. Delphyne’s smile waned when she noticed him smirking.
“You think you had won, huh? Just see once Zac wakes up, I will tell him everything and then he’ll serve your head to Diana on a silver platter. Because we both know he will hate you for snatching his happiness away.” Calix asserted. His hands were itching to kill Delphyne. Diana might back out but Zachary would never let her leave him
“Zachary would definitely get his memories back once he sees Diana. Because if Diana knows the truth, she won’t be able to hide it from him for long.” He continued inciting her.
Delphyne scoffed. She then raised her hand and slapped him hard.
“For that, you need to remember as well.” She spat and removed the flask.
Calix’s eyes widened in horror as he eyed the dark, purple liquid. He quickly flapped his wings and tried to shield him but Delphyne was quick enough. Removing the lid, she threw the liquid on his face.
“NO!!!”
Calix screamed his lungs out before succumbing to darkness. Delphyne watched him drop to the floor with a contented smile.
The sound of heavy steps grabbed her attention. Turning around, she looked at Barbas and Ebras who stopped at an arm’s length from her and then bowed at her respectfully.
Barbas then stepped forward and took the empty flask from her hand, “Congratulations Queen Mother. Finally, everything is in place now.”
Delphyne smiled and nodded. Her gaze then fell on Ebras who had a troubled expression on his face, “What’s wrong?”
Ebras gulped nervously before answering her, “Forgive me Queen Mother but you should have used this potion on the Queen as well. Potion of Senses is successful in erasing the memories of the Queen in our world but the Heaven still considers the Demon King as her husband. What if the Queen’s family tries to approach him and foils our plan?” He finally said his thoughts.
His words even left Barbas tongue-tied. He looked at Delphyne only to find her still smiling, her face showed no signs of queasiness.
“Ebras, your Queen will do the rest.” She said startling both the men.
Barbas swiftly turned his neck at her, stunned by her response, “Y-You gave the potion to the Queen as well?” He asked, still in disbelief.
Delphyne chucked before nodding, “Of course I did. Barbas, your Queen Mother is always one step ahead. I had sprinkled some on her gown when you were trying to cure Zachary. Once she reaches Heaven, that liquid would disperse in the air and the denizens of Heaven would also forget everything just like our world.” She said and flashed them a devious smile.
“Now no one will remember their love story. I will start a new life with my son and my daughter. A life where there will be no angels and I wouldn’t let that woman ever enter my son’s life. What had she thought that I will let her rule my world? She would take my position, a fucking angel.” Spatting, she let out a grunt and then looked at her minions who had helped in executing her evil plans.
“You’re great Queen Mother. But why didn’t you sprinkle the liquid on the Queen? She would have also started a new life. The past wouldn’t let her live peacefully. We have already wronged her by snatching her child when one drop of the Blessed Waters would have easily cured King. Don’t you think so?” Ebras spoke without realizing that his words only aggravated Delphyne who turned red in anger.
Barbas quickly lowered his head when Delphyne smacked Ebras. His concern for Diana scalded her.
“SHE’S NOT YOUR QUEEN!! SHE IS NO ONE TO US, DO YOU UNDERSTAND??” She yelled making both of them quickly nod in fear.
“From the current moment itself, no one is allowed to take her name. I warn you; you won’t utter a single word about Diana to anyone. I don’t want to hear her name ever in this Palace and if you both ever dare double cross me-”
She spoke with clenched teeth but Barbas quickly kneeled in front of her while pulling Ebras along with him.
“Forgive him, Queen Mother. We give you our words. We don’t know any Diana and I assure you that just like her name, I will erase her memories from our world too. No one would ever come to know about her.” He said and bowed her head.
Delphyne smirked in delight, reveling in their fears like a sadist.
“Good. Make him understand as well. I need to see my children now. They must have woken up.” She said while eyeing Ebras who quickly rubbed his nose on her heels.
“Forgive me, Queen. You’re our only Queen, no one else.” He cried.
Delphyne laughed and crossed her arms over her chest as she sized the two men arrogantly who looked ready to faint.
“Now that’s how it is supposed to be.”
