Chapter 75: Chapter 75
Zagan was still in a daze as he stared at the Princess of Moonland who took the bayonet from his hand and threw it to the ground.
Rose blinked her eyes multiple times while Calix and Zachary stared at Diana in disbelief. Shock was written all over their faces.
“P-Princess?”
Zachary whispered; his eyes welled up with tears of joy.
Diana also shifted her gaze to him after hearing his voice. Her face was void of any emotion as she watched him coming towards her with staggering steps. A painful smile was stretched on his face.
Zachary then stood in front of her, gazing at her with adoration and love. He extended his trembling hands and grabbed her face making her close her eyes.
“I-it’s you, it’s really you,” Zachary said and chucked while tears continued leaving his eyes. Diana unwillingly leaned onto his touch. She tried to maintain her cold façade but failed helplessly when fat dollops of tears started rolling down her eyes. The pain inside her indisposed her from uttering a single word so she said nothing and wept silently in his hold.
Caressing her cheeks, Zachary cleared the stains of tears smeared on her face and joined their foreheads.
“F-Forgive me, Princess.” Zachary finally removed the burden off his shoulders and admitted his mistake.
Cupping her face in his palms, he planted a soft kiss on her chapped lips and quickly pulled away.
“I-I know you hate me for what I had made you go through but trust me, Princess, I am truly guilty and ashamed for my deeds. I can’t tell you how much the separation from you tore me apart. I was completely devastated. It felt like my whole world was ravaged. The house which you had decorated with your soft hands started to haunt me, mocking me for my relentless and reckless behavior. My insecurities turned me over possessive and I agree that I had no right to snatch your liberty but-”
He cried and grabbed her hands. Pulling them close to his face, he leaned his forehead on her joined hands and implored, “I promise that I would never force you ever. You can live the way you want to; I would never pressurize you for anything. Hit me, punish me the way you want to. I wouldn’t say a word to you even if you bring a dagger down my throat for hurting you but please don’t hate me. Don’t abandon me, Princess. After so many years, I finally got a reason to live, don’t snatch that hope from me. I won’t be able to live in a world that doesn’t have you in it. I can bear your rage but not your hatred. Death sounds more convincing to me than to live a life like this-”
He continued to blabber but was cut off by Diana who tiptoed to his level and quickly placed her lips on his.
Fireworks exploded as soon as their lips were connected. Zachary closed his eyes freeing some tears. His chest heaved a deep sigh of relief and without wasting a second, he coiled his hands around her waist, pulling him closer.
Tears of happiness washed down their eyes while their lips molded perfectly as if they also yearned for each other’s touch. Zachary’s passionate kiss soon turned aggressive and that’s when Diana woke up. She quickly tried to break the kiss but Zachary didn’t let her. Grabbing her nape, he pulled her again for a deep kiss. She mewled and started struggling hard when he started to suck her cherry lips like a beast.
After kissing her to his heart’s content, Zachary finally pulled away. Diana looked at him while breathing hard.
Zachary tilted his head and leaned to suck her lower lip. Nibbling on it, he moved back and threw her a smirk when he saw her red face.
“I missed your taste, babe.”
His blunt comment turned her eyes to the size of saucers. Slapping his chest, she weakly pushed him. Zachary snorted and continued teasing her but a hiss escaped his mouth after earning a punch that landed straight in his jaw.
Caressing it, he glared at Diana who was already scowling at him.
“If you ever did this to me, I swear on my brother, I would not only slap you but-”
“Kick your ass too.” Calix completed her sentence. Rose and Diana burst into laughter while Zachary shot him a death glare.
He then reverted his eyes to Diana and cupped her right cheek in his palm.
“I am truly sorry for my misconduct. I shouldn’t have done that.” His expression turned austere. Diana looked down which made him heartbroken but soon a smile crept on his face when she slowly nodded.
“All right but only after I settle the scores.”
Zachary raised his brows but his soul almost left his body when Diana grabbed a chunk of his hair and pulled them hard.
“AHH!! WHAT THE FUCK PRINCESS!!” He yelled in pain but Diana smiled mischievously.
“Now it’s even. I forgive you.” She chuckled and started caressing his head while the room boomed with their laughter.
Zagan who was watching everything silently also couldn’t resist smiling at Diana’s childish acts. He shook his head and moved his eyes to the door.
His smile instantly dropped.
A horrifying expression appeared on his face as there stood Theodore at the door along with George and Christian but all the blood got drained off his face when he found a crying Jasmine in George’s arms.
They were trapped.
Calix noticed him so he followed his gaze only to still on spot. Soon the room that was echoing with giggles turned dead silent.
Diana flinched back in shock. Her fingers automatically fisted Zachary’s shirt. Zachary quickly wrapped his arms around her protectively and pulled her closer to his chest while glaring at Theodore who was staring at him with amusement. On the other hand, Rose cowered in fear when her eyes met with George’s burning ones. She huddled closer to Calix who sensed her fear. He grabbed her hand and pulled her behind him.
A deep chuckle resonated in the room followed by the sound of claps as Theodore stepped inside while his eyes were trained on a furious Zachary.
“What a great surprise, my friend. You didn’t even bother meeting me after visiting my captor. At least you should have informed me about your arrival beforehand so that I could have organized a grand welcome for you.” He spoke in his husky voice. Zachary didn’t reply to him but his fingers curled into a fist as rage started bubbling inside him.
Theodore noticed it. He again let out a chuckle and took steps in his direction.
“You broke into my kingdom, killed my men, destroyed my property, and still, you aren’t willing to talk to me.” He said and faked a pout.
Zachary scoffed, “I don’t talk to fucktards.” He gritted with a clenched jaw.
Theodore placed his palm on his heart pretending to get hurt by his words, “Zac, you broke my heart.”
“He wouldn’t mind breaking your bone either.” Calix snarled making him whip his head in his direction.
“Well hello to you, faithful dog.” He said making George chortle.
Rose who was earlier shivering in fear instantly jumped on to attack him. Pushing Calix’s hands away, she moved forward and retorted.
“And hello to you, unfaithful husband.”
She shouted and marched toward him while Theodore simply smirked at her, enjoying her fuming like a volcano.
“You bloody bastard, you dare to ask Jasmine for a second chance when you were the one who abandoned her in the first place. Shameless manwhore, I can’t believe I respected someone like you who was ashamed to accept his wife in front of the whole world but had no regrets in making a pregnant, married woman captive. Shame on you Theodore, I can’t believe the Angels were planning on making you the successor of Heaven. Thanks to Zachary that he pulled down your mask and help us see the real you who is nothing but a despicable, selfish, and reprobate man.” She screamed while tears of anger rolled down her cheeks.
His actions did hurt Jasmine but Rose was affected the most. After her father, the one whom she respected and idolized the most was Theodore. He truly was the perfect definition of a caring, kind-hearted, down-to-earth, and devoted King. He was the most loved leader amongst the angels. But his behavior defied his personality.
Pouring all her frustration, she looked into his eyes trying to find a tinge of remorse but the only thing she earned was a vacuous stare.
“Are you done?” Theodore said in a boring tone and rolled his eyes at her. Rose gave him an incredulous stare. She then looked at Diana, her eyes shedding rivers of tears.
Diana tsked and shook her head, “Why are you surprised, Rose? What had you expected from him? That he would feel guilty and ashamed? A person who was about to marry a married woman and kill her unborn child, you were expecting him to be guilty of his crimes? At least now wake up. He is nothing but a monster in disguise and so is his youngest brother.” She spat with hatred. Theodore’s expression turned hard at her words.
Calix let out a dry chuckle, “Wow and you were comforting Jasmine downstairs. Does my man need two girls at the same time? I never knew the princes of the Theo Dynasty were so concupiscent?”
“HOW DARE YOU!!” George snarled. Pushing Jasmine away, he withdrew his sword from the sheath and lunged at him like a deranged man.
Calix immediately dodged him and raised his sword. The metals clanked against each other as the two men glared at each other with predatory eyes.
George glanced at Rose who gulped and hid behind Diana before shifting his eyes back to Calix, “You pathetic, low-class demon. You are incomparable to me. You are just a loyal servant while I am of noble blood. Still, you have the balls to look in my eyes?” He said, his teeth chattered due to rage.
Calix threw him a smug smirk before answering, “I not only have the balls to confront you but also hold the power to gauge those eyes out which looked at my beloved and play with them, Your Majesty.”
“YOU BLOODY-”
“Stop it, George.”
Christian scolded him. George instantly sealed his lips but continued glaring at him. Calix scoffed and pushed him back before withdrawing his weapon.
Christian then looked at Zachary whose eyes were already trained on him. Taking a deep breath he spoke, “Listen, Zachary, we don’t want any bloodshed. I know we did wrong by capturing Diana and his family and I fully take responsibility for my brother’s actions. I apologize to Diana but I request you to take her home peacefully.”
He said and looked at Diana who also looked at her with soft eyes. It was because it was only Christian and Christina who were only saviors and helped her from Theodore and the sick, old couple.
He walked to Diana and looked at her ruefully, “I can’t make my brother understand but I am sure you will listen. I know it is difficult for you to forgive us but please leave the grudges behind and return to your house. Diana, you know war is not an option. If the angles caught wind of the news that a Demon is in Theo’s Palace, we all will fall into big trouble. So, please return to Hell safely and I assure you that I will send your family back to Moonland safely.”
His genuine words thawed her heart. She had no qualms in trusting him as she knew that he would definitely fulfill his promise.
Christian smiled when Diana nodded in approval. Diana then turned to Zachary and grabbed his hand making her look at him.
“He is right Zac. You found me. What more can be good than this? I only want my family and my friends safe. Nothing more than that. Let’s go home.” She said softly and squeezed his hands gently.
But to his surprise, he didn’t reply instead lifted his gaze and looked at Theodore who was anxiously waiting for his move.
Diana stared at him perplexed but a smile crept on her face when Zachary smirked and nodded.
“Whatever my Princess wants.” He said and then looked at Jasmine who was watching him with a broken heart. The fear of getting abandoned again crawled inside her heart.
But her eyes lit up after hearing his next words.
“Let’s go, sister.”
