Chapter 69: Chapter 69
Zachary’s P.O.V.
Trudging through the lush bushes, I somehow succeeded in entering the mansion. Jasmine did a fantastic job in distracting those bunch of idiots. Though it was our plan, Theodore’s reaction caught me off guard. I haven’t anticipated that jerk to be head over heels for my sister. But what for? Didn’t he push her away from his life then what is he trying to prove by acting all lovey-dovey with her? I can’t understand this man.
But whatever it is, this act won’t last long. Once I rescue my Princess, I will take my family away with me back to my dynasty. I need to be watchful, and make sure not to ruin everything in hastiness. My anger is my worst enemy and I am trying my best to stay calm but I swear on my Princess’s happiness, I won’t ever let my wifey or my sister visit this horrendous land ever.
Snooping around, I made my way to the third floor as per Jasmine’s words that my Princess had been locked there. The guards were lined up at every corner. That fucker was determined not to let Diana escape by any means but he doesn’t know with whom he was messing with. Hurting Diana is equivalent to torturing me. And the person who dares harm me, I make sure to crush them between my fingers. He had himself knocked at the gates of Lucifer so how would I not grant his wish?
A very painful death is eagerly waiting for your bastard. Just wait till I get the situation in my control, then I will deal with you.
One of the guards that were guarding the Princess’ room suddenly made eye contact with me. His pupils instantly dilated in fear which gave a tremendous fillip to my bloodthirst. I also dropped my facade and pulled out my golden sword. Those miniatures immediately covered their eyes as the glittering beam of my sword blinded them.
I looked at my sword and smiled cynically.
“Get ready to bathe in a pool of blood, sweetheart. Your Queen has arranged a grand meal for you.” I snickered and without thinking twice pounced on those bastards.
The monster within me was relentless today. Plunging the sword deep into his neck, I grabbed the neck of one guard who tried to attack me from behind. Choking him, I snap his neck in two like a twig before throwing him to the ground.
Some of the guards tried to run for their dear life but I make sure to abolish every soul. It was necessary because I didn’t want to know Theodore about me before I escort Diana to a safe place.
Kicking the dead body, I sailed through the blood pool beneath my legs and reached the humongous mahogany door. Princess is definitely here. I can feel her. I quickly scanned my surroundings to make sure that there was no danger. There wasn’t any member of Theo’s family around which means they are still downstairs.
Without delaying further, I mustered all my power and gave a harsh kick on the door. All the pent-up rage and frustration surged through me like molten lava and struck the door with full force. The heavy door immediately got broken as if it was made of paper.
“PRINCESS!!!”
Screaming at the top of my lungs, I entered the room and ran inside. My eyes turned glassy. A gush of happiness, excitement and sorrow washed over me as I helplessly searched for my beautiful wife.
“Princess, where are-”
My voice died midway when my gaze fell on the small figure that was balled in one corner looking so innocent, so delicate. I rushed to her and fell to my knees in front of her. Clad in a lacy pink gown, Diana was sitting beside the window with the remnants of the wedding dress scattered around her fragile figure like white lilies. I know it was all her doing. She must have vented out her anger on that wedding gown and torn it down into shreds. But the thing that got me worried was her lack of response.
“Princess, look your Zac is here,” I said and tried to cup her cheek when my eyes landed on her tear-stained face. Her eyes were closed. She was sleeping. I quickly cupped her face but as soon as my hand came in contact with her body, my eyes widened.
Her skin was cold as ice.
“N-No.”
What’s happening? I pulled her to my chest and her almost lifeless figure surrendered in my arms with no resistance.
Why is she not responding to me?
“Princess, wake up,” I said softly and patted her face but still no response. Cupping her chin between my fingers, I placed my lips on her and sucked them. Maybe my touch would break her trance.
Detaching my mouth from her, I again looked at her but she was still as death.
“W-What? WHAT’S GOING ON? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? WHY AREN’T YOU RESPONDING TO MY TOUCHES??” I growled and shook her violently. Diana wasn’t responding to my touches nor can she feel the bond. I had marked her then why the hell she can’t sense my presence?
“Cal, I need to bring her to Cal this instant.” Muttering under my breath, I immediately scooped Diana in my arms. He knows how to break such deleterious spells. Turning to the exit, I dashed to the door but my steps froze midway when I found Calix standing in front of me.
“Cal, come here. See, Diana isn’t responding.” I spoke anxiously but my brows furrowed when he didn’t give any response. He remained rooted on spot with his hands crossed over his chest. Suddenly my eyes met with his icy cold ones that were dead set on my face.
My temper flared as he continued staring at me like a creep and made no move to help me, “THE FUCK YOU’RE STANDING THERE LIKE A MUTE?? DIDN’T YOU HEAR WHAT I SAY??” I shouted but I flinch in shock when his pupils abruptly turned golden.
WHAT THE HELL? WHY HIS EYES TURNED GOLDEN INSTEAD OF SAPPHIRE??
“Cal, what’s wrong?” I inquired but my heart jarred in shock when his features turned dark. His brows got joined together and his jaw got clenched.
He had been hypnotized.
‘Shit. I need to handle Diana first.’
Luckily there was a couch. I glanced at Calix who was still glaring at me like a predator. He is for sure under a spell.
I think we got caught. Damn.
Letting out a low growl of frustration, I again looked back at Calix. We both kept staring at each other in silence when suddenly it dawned on me.
He is waiting for my move. Once I act, he will attack me.
But I can’t do anything as Diana is in my arms. I tried to take a step back but I froze when he also took a step in my direction.
Shit, shit, what should I do?
I again diverted my attention to Calix. Apart from me, Zagan, Cal, and Jasmine none of them knows black magic. Angels don’t know anything about hypnosis then who cast a spell on Cal?
Calix was blocking the entrance, the person who hypnotized him wanted to cage me that’s why he turned Calix against me.
I need someone for help as I can’t fight with him alone. Diana and my child, I need to protect them both.
Where the fuck is Zagan? Did he betray me?
There’s only one option left now. I tried to mind link Jasmine but before I could do that, Calix pounced on me and slammed me on the wall. I immediately wrapped an arm around Diana protectively and with another, I grabbed the hand that was strangling me.
“CAL!! IT’S ME ZAC!! WAKE UP, BUDDY!!!” I shouted but he looked possessed. He tightened my hold on my neck. I don’t want to hurt him so I kept trying to pry his hands off but he had acquired more power than me. His body turned like steel. I looked into his golden hues that were piercing holes in my face.
I started feeling lightheaded. My lungs begged for oxygen but this jerk didn’t leave me.
“Enough Cal. Leave him.”
That voice.
Something snapped in Calix as he immediately loosened his hold and moved back from me. I leaned my back on the wall while coughing violently. Pulling Diana closer to my chest, I lifted my head and looked at the entrance.
“So, it was all your doing?” I somehow forced myself to speak only to earn a chuckle.
“Of course, my love. How can I allow my Zachary to leave me?”
The girl whom I hated the most replied in her sickening voice.
She was none other than Kiora.
How come I forgot about this snag?
