Chapter 57: Chapter 57

‘BAM!’

A loud crash followed by an ear-splitting scream shook every single brick of the Palace as Zachary killed the last guard that was appointed for Diana’s safety.

“CALM THE FUCK DOWN ZAC!! IT ISN’T THEIR FAULT. NO ONE EVEN CAME TO KNOW WHEN SHE LEFT!!” Calix roared and pushed Zachary back but he paid no heed to his words and continued his destruction.

“She didn’t leave me!! They forced her to escape!! These fucking traitors connived with those two motherfuckers and forced her to leave me.” Zachary gritted referring to Kiora and Zagan.

The moment Zachary returned to his room and found Diana nowhere, he lost his sanity. Like a rabid dog, he started searching for her. Zachary even called Calix who immediately delegated guards to look for their Queen. They both searched every corner of the Binnazun Dynasty but Diana was nowhere to be found.

Calix gripped his shoulders tightly and sneered at his face, “She left you just like Rose. Just accept the fact and move on. We loved them and they betrayed us.”

A tear escaped his eye which he wiped away harshly. Rose’s betrayal shattered his heart.

The night he encountered an intruder in his territory, he immediately prepared a team to probe into the matter. It was finally revealed that the intruder was none other than Kiora who even offered a proposal to Rose which she readily accepted to save her sister.

“Despite my warnings she left. Rose must have contacted Theodore and had fixed a deal with him because her priority had always been Jasmine. And on top of that, your insecurities and rage pushed Diana to an extent and she left for Moonland. Now we can’t do anything as that bastard has again closed the portals. We neither know how to breach them nor we can take the help of Kiora.” Calix told Zachary only to receive a punch that made him see stars.

“STOP YOUR NONSENSE!! MY PRINCESS CAN NEVER LEAVE ME, GOT IT!! OUR LOVE ISN’T WEAKER THAN YOURS!! DON’T YOU DARE COMPARE MY PRINCESS TO THAT SELFISH GIRL!!”

Zachary raged. He couldn’t accept the fact that Diana left him. He knew he crossed his limits and had hurt her but he was planning to make it up to her. But Diana didn’t even give him a chance and took a step that devastated his hopes. He was still not willing to accept that his love and over-possessiveness had become a noose for her. He was failing to see that his rage which was once his biggest strength had now become his greatest enemy.

Delphyne was fuming. She already despised Diana and witnessing his son’s madness for her increased her hatred for her ten folds.

“If she wants to leave you, let it be Zac. I always told you son never to trust an Angel but you didn’t listen. Saw what happened? At least now marry Kiora. She is the perfect match for you.” Leaping the opportunity, she started reproaching her.

Orkus glared at her, “Are you even listening to yourself? We have to calm him down not exasperate him more.” He hissed but Delphyne simply rolled her eyes.

“What? I am just stating the truth besides if this is what happened then Kiora is our only hope.”

Calix shot her a stink eye, “Forgive me Queen but you are forgetting that she is our enemy.”

Delphyne nodded, “Indeed she is but she can only help us. If she can send Rose to Theo Dynasty even when the portals were closed then she can also bring Diana back.”

Zachary stilled on spot. His lips curved in a smile as soon as he heard her suggestion. Turning around he flashed her a smile while Delphyne silently patted her back.

“You are right Mother. Right now, it’s not the time to bemoan but to think about how I should bring my wife back. If liquidating my rivals will bring my Princess back then I am willing to do that.”

Chuckling he snapped his fingers in the air and dissolved into thick, black smoke, wiping the cunning smile off her mother’s lips.

“SHIT!! WHAT THE FUCK YOU DID DELPHYNE!!” Orkus howled and scampered away.

Calix looked at Delphyne who remained rooted on spot. She didn’t have the slightest idea that her plan would backfire on her.

“You do realize that you have simply closed all the ways of bringing Diana back to Hell.”

His raspy voice pulled her out of her daze. Blinking her eyes, she looked at him only to find him smirking at her.

“Zac will kill Kiora, the only person who can take him to Moonland. Once she dies, he will realize his mistakes and in regret, would take his life because he isn’t patient enough to live with memories of Diana. When Diana will come to know about it, she would blame herself for his death. I know you don’t care about her but what about Zachary, are you willing to give up on your son?”

His words were a big reality check. Delphyne broke out in cold sweats.

‘What have I done?’

Vigorously shaking her head, she grabbed his hands and started to supplicate, “I-I am sorry Cal. I was blinded by my hatred for that girl. Please stop Zac. I beg you.”

Calix let out a deep sigh, “I am afraid I can’t. Stopping Zac is equivalent to inviting death. Instead of stopping him, we should seek help from Kiora.”

Delphyne was confounded as he was the one who was earlier bashing her for seeking Kiora’s help and now, he was the one who was suggesting the same. But she didn’t give it much thought as right now it was important to stop Zachary.

“I am willing to. Take me to her. I will do anything to save my son.”

“Then give me your daughter.”

Her heart stopped.

Delphyne slowly turned around only to see Kiora and Zagan standing in front of her with sickening smiles plastered on their faces.

“D-Daughter? What are you talking about?”

She stuttered. Her hands started to tremble so she clenched the hem of her gown tightly and tried to hide behind Calix. To her surprise, he moved away from her but his next words snatched the ground beneath her feet.

“You exactly know what we are talking about, Queen.”

“Cal.”

Delphyne was horrified when Calix stood with Zagan and Kiora and started laughing along with them.

“Jasmine. Does that name ring a bell?” Zagan questioned her. Delphyne gulped, her heart was hammering in her mouth now.

“I-I don’t know her.” She spoke without meeting his eyes. Her heels tripped and she ended up colliding with the wall when Kiora approached her.

“Brother, of course, the Queen would hesitate to recognize the child whom she had left at the doorstep of an Angel.”

She spoke in a mocking tone, draining all the blood from her face. Calix then walked toward Delphyne, maintaining his glare on her.

“Zachary and Jasmine are brother and sister. You separated them because you never wanted a daughter. You only wished for a son so you abandoned her. Because of your fear of getting caught by a Demon, you left her at the door of a poor angel family which happened to be Rose’s. And if you’re shocked as to how come I know about this, it is because I had always been dubious of Jasmine. That girl despite being an Angel is a connoisseur in black magic. She knows demonic spells and can even speak and understand demonic language. There’s no way an Angel can do this so I snooped around and guess what? She came out to be the daughter of the royal family.”

He spat and looked at her in disgust. Delphyne clenched her fists. Her eyes stung with tears. Lifting her head, she shot him a killer glare.

“Yes, I did. So what? I never wanted her anyway. And who are you to question my decision? You even betrayed us, your best friend, and sided with this bitch.” She gritted.

Kiora palmed her mouth, feigning a hurtful expression, “Mother-in-law, how can you swear at me? If I remember right, you were dreaming to make me your daughter-in-law and now when I caught your secret, you started to abuse me. How could you?” She moaned and wiped her imaginary tears.

Zagan who was standing at the corner watching things like an onlooker finally decided to step in.

“Alright, let’s cut to the chase. My sister is willing to help your son but only on one condition-An angel for an angel. I want Jasmine.”

“NEVER!!!” Delphyne shouted all of a sudden, “I would never let you have her.”

“Why? Because she is the rightful owner of Hell instead of Zachary.”
