Inside the Palace

"HOW DARE YOU? WHO EVEN GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHOM WILL YOU MARRY? WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, HOW DARE YOU EVEN GO TO HEAVEN AND ASK THE HANDS OF THE PRINCESS OF THE MOON??"

Orkus yelled fiercely at the young lad who was standing with his arms crossed over his chest while he stared at him with no trace of remorse on his face.

"I don't need to give you any explanations as now I am the King of Hell and I can do whatever I want to do", Zachary spoke gruffly.

"ZACHARY!!!!", Delphyne shouted at him feeling completely offended by his harsh words.

"Enough, I have announced my decision. And you all can't change it, when I said I will marry Diana that means I will marry her only and no one has the power to change the decision of the King... Not even his parents", Zachary growled.

His parents looked at him in shock after hearing his cruel words. Tears got filled in their eyes as it was heart-breaking to witness their son insulting them in front of everyone whom they had raised with so much love and care.

"Wow!!! After giving you the responsibility of my life, after cherishing you like a flower, after fulfilling your every wish and dream, this is what we get in return. HUH??? DON'T YOU HAVE ANY SHAME?? YOU'RE INSULATING US THAT TOO IN FRONT OF YOUR FRIEND AND FOR WHO?? FOR THAT ANGEL WHO HADN'T EVEN BECAME A PART OF YOUR LIFE??? ANSWER ME JEON ZACHARY!!!!", Orkus shouted furiously. His eyes started turning pitch black as his chest heaved rhythmically in anger. Zachary chuckled.

"Don't worry Dad, she'll become soon. And besides, I have already talked about this with her parents, and guess what? They agreed."

Their eyes widened in shock while he just smirked in return making them more furious.

"BULLSHIT!!! HOW CAN THEY?? I MEAN- AREN'T THEY SCARED FOR THEIR DAUGHTER?? HOW WILL SHE'LL BE ABLE TO SURVIVE HERE?", Orkus yelled and then looked at Calix. An expression of sincere concern and worry was being reflected in his eyes. Calix looked down as he also didn't have the answer to this question but he couldn't go against this also as Zachary was hard-headed. The stubborn young King had made up his mind and there was no way that he would back away from his decision.

"Don't worry. My Princess will survive. I will take care of it", Zachary spoke with determination. Delphyne scoffed at his words making him narrow his eyes at her.

"Take care? Of a girl? Since when did you start taking care of a girl? Since when did my valiant son become interested in girls? What's the reason for this oddity?", she spoke while mocking him. But Zachary tugged his hands in the pockets of his trousers and smirked at her.

"Diana"

"WHAT?" Delphyne yelled while Zachary just smirked in return.

"You asked the reason for my quirkiness and I gave you an answer.", he replied while smirking at her. Delphyne immediately marched towards him angrily and gripped his arm tightly.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?? WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND?? YOU ARE TRYING TO PLAY WITH FIRE ZACHARY!!! YOU ARE NOT ONLY DESTROYING YOUR LIFE BUT EVEN PUSHING THAT LITTLE GIRL INTO DANGER!!! DOES SHE EVEN KNOWS ABOUT YOUR BLOODY OBSESSION?? DON'T TELL ME YOU ARE FORCING HER INTO THIS MARRIAGE?"

Zachary yanked away from his arms harshly while his eyes started turning blood-red.

"I have enough of this. I have already made my decision. I LOVE HER, I LOVE HER AND I LOVE HER!!! THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE AND THIS IS MY FINAL ANSWER TO RESOLVE ALL THIS CONFLICT!!"

"ZACHARY!!! TRY TO UNDERSTAND-"

"ENOUGH!!!"

He blared in a loud raucous voice shaking the entire mansion. His large heavy wings started burning as dark clouds started rising drowning the entire court in the gigantic dark fog. The shimmering white ceilings got covered with thick dark smoke ruining them. Calix looked at Zachary in fear as his aura turned deadly. He immediately tried to calm him down. But as soon as he took a step forward, his mother's next words made him stop.

"When you easily get triggered over such a small issue then how come you gonna keep that little Angel safe from your wrath?"

Calix immediately stepped back. Zachary's gaze flickered as if he got struck by a lightning bolt. His eyes immediately turned back to normal while the blazing fire slowly cooled down. The thick dark clouds immediately got disappeared clearing the view. Her words left everyone shook. A dead silence got filled in the whole room while Zachary stared at his mother in shock.

Now it was her time to smirk as this question caught him off guard. Well, it was right though.

Zachary was a Demon of Wrath. There was no doubt that the Demon Prince was doughty and stalwart, and possesses all the qualities of being the King as he was remarkably adroit and a true warrior but still, the Demon Prince had only one weakness.

And that was his anger.

The Demon of Zachary was Asmodeus, the Demon of Wrath. No matter Zachary was born to be the King but also possesses the power to reduce anyone to ashes. He can't control his anger. The kingdom was well aware of it as many formidable and spooky incidents had taken place in the past leaving every single soul in Hell in fear. Although the kingdom respected their king they also feared them as Zachary's anger was something they never wanted to face.

And this was where his mother caught him.

Zachary's P.O.V.

No, this is all a trap. They just want me to separate from her. All this is planned to get me married to that Kiora. No, I can't let her go. Never, ever!!!

I looked at my mother who was smirking at me continuously. But her smirk immediately got dropped off as she saw me smiling.

"I will marry her."

Her jaw got dropped while I smirked in victory.

"WHAT???"

" You heard me", I gritted out.

"Calix, why don't you try to explain your pig-headed friend?? Will you still take his side even though you know the results can be catastrophic? Are you willing to destroy that girl's life just to fulfill his obstinateness? Are you sure you are fulfilling your responsibility of being a true friend?", Dad shouted while staring at Calix in disappointment. I looked back at him only to find him standing there lost in a deluge of thoughts.

End of Zachary's P.O.V.

Calix didn't reply. Zachary's parent's words left him in turmoil. He doesn't know what to say. It was clear that his parents were more concerned about Diana rather than being angry at their stubborn son. Calix had told them about Diana and that she was a very kind-hearted and bubbly Princess. She was like a child. Zachary was a Demon while she was an Angel, two opposite persons from two different worlds, this was a serious matter which needed to be contemplated wisely. Moreover, this was one-sided love as Zachary got tempted by her not the other way around, and now has become crazily obsessed with her.

But what if this is a psychotic obsession and not love??

Calix has seen how much Zachary became furious with himself only when he talked with Diana, so what will he do to other men if they tried interacting with her??

Thousands of questions were running inside his mind. He then looked up at Zachary only to find him already staring at him. His eyes were waiting patiently for his answer. But Calix finally decided to get clear answers from him before jumping to a conclusion.

"We need to talk", Calix rasped.

As soon as those words left his mouth Zachary clenched his jaw in anger. He got infuriated to see Calix's trust wavering. He too started doubting his love for her. He immediately gripped his arm and stormed off from there without looking back at Delphyne who kept yelling behind.

Zachary brought Calix outside the mansion. He jerked off his hands harshly and snarled in anger, "WHAT?? SO NOW YOU ALSO HAVE STARTED DOUBTING MY LOVE FOR HER?? AFTER YELLING LIKE A MANIAC, EXPLAINING LIKE A FOOL STILL YOU ALL DON'T GET IT?"

Calix looked at him calmly and spoke in his deep voice. "Zachary, we don't doubt your love. But the point does you doubt your love?"

"WHAT??", Zachary looked at him confused. Calix sighed.

"See Zachary, we all have watched you since childhood. You have anger issues but we never blamed you as it's not your fault even. You were born with this but now you are trying to make someone a part of your life who doesn't even know about all this. Diana, she is an Angel while you're a Demon. You're thinking that your marriage is just a piece of cake but it's hell not. Have you ever heard about an Angel and Demon's love story? No, right?", he spoke in his deep voice.

Zachary huffed in frustration and growled while ogling him, "But also that doesn't mean that a Demon can never fall in love with an Angel? Why are you all so desperate in making me marry a witch instead of an Angel? If I can't control my anger over that Kiora then will you be alright?", Zachary spoke with gritted teeth.

"No, Zachary. But Kiora is herself a witch whereas Diana isn't. She has the power to withstand your rage as she is THE PRINCESS OF DARKNESS WHEREAS DIANA IS A SIMPLE ANGEL. Why can't you understand the difference? Don't you realize how easily you get enraged? You even got furious watching our proximity. What if Diana does something wrong, something which you don't like? You can burn her down to ashes without even knowing it. Why can't you get this, you bullheaded loon?", Calix spat furiously as he was so done with this dickhead. But Zachary immediately gripped his shoulders and started shouting while shaking his shoulders violently.

"BUT WHY DID YOU THEN AGREE TO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?? WHY HELP ME THEN WHEN YOU HAD TO BETRAY ME LATER?? NOW YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THIS AFTER GETTING BRAINWASHED BY MY PARENTS, NOW YOU UNDERSTAND. I CAN'T CONTROL MY ANGER?? TELL ME!!!", he screamed like a madman.

Calix yanked away from his hands off him and pushed him back. Zachary stumbled backward and fell to the floor. But he didn't get up. Calix furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and crouched only to see Zachary staring at the floor sadly.

"Zachary?", he called him and held his shoulder. Zachary slowly lifted his face. Calix became shocked as Zachary was looking at him with pained expressions.

"I have always been alone Cal since childhood, no one ever tried to be friends with me since they were scared of me. But this is not my fault that I can't control my anger. I had no one Cal except you. Don't you think I wanted someone to look after me and care for me? I also wanted to laugh and play like other kids but I was always deprived of all this. Instead, I was trained to be tough and merciless. My parents made me like this and now they are the ones who blame me for my barbarousness. Why blame me? I wasn't born with all this? I didn't ask for all this? I also want to love someone who reads for me and loves me. She is the first person who cared for me though she was just a stranger to me. She could have left me to die but no, she did care for me. Treated me even when I went to visit her, she asked about my health. For the first time in my life, someone truly cared for, me. She showed me what is selfless love. I didn't just get bewitched by her Cal, I love her. Please me. She is the first girl who managed to capture my heart and make my stone heartbeat again. They made my heart skip a beat just by her one smile. I would never hurt her. I will try to control my anger. After so many days I found someone whom I truly love, please don't snatch her away from me. I promise you, I will change but don't do this to me", he begged helplessly while tears brimmed in Calix's eyes as he watched the younger pleading for his life.

Zachary grew in front of him. He had been with him in every stage of his life. But it was the first time the man who people called cold-hearted and truculent was begging for his happiness. His heart got shattered into small pieces. And that time he realized that it was not just a mere obsession but true love. Something which no one has ever experienced.

Maybe Diana is the only one who can change him.

Maybe instead of separating them, it will be more fruitful to unite them.

Maybe they both will pen down a new love story based on selfless love which can become a new history...

He smiled and cupped his face.

"I know you love her but if you do then don't force her into this relationship. If you want to have her, first try to win her heart instead of forcing her to marry you", he tried to explain to him while caressing his dark brown hair.

"What do you mean Cal?", Zachary frowned while staring at him innocently with his doe-eyes. Calix chuckled as after so many years he saw his baby face.

"Make her fall in love with you. Show her your real self. Tell her who really is and why you love her so much. I am sure if you confess your true feelings to her, Angel would accept you. She is a very kind and sweet girl. In this way, you'll be able to build your new relationship based on trust, love, and care. And your relationship would last for eternity", he spoke in his husky voice.

Zachary's eyes sparkled in joy. He hugged him out of happiness as he smiled.

"Thank you so much, Cal. You're the best", he chirped.

Calix chuckled and patted his back.

"Now go get your Angel."
