Chapter 12: Chapter 12
I blinked my eyes, squinting them instantly at the harsh lighting on my face. When I looked around the room my eyes wide under the unfamiliar walls. It took me a few seconds to get the sleep out of my eyes. I winced as I tried to sit up, my head throbbing.
"Where am I?" I mumbled to myself, my eyes focused on my hands. They were slightly trembling. What was happening to me?
I glanced around the room, trying to figure out where I was. The last thing I remember I was waiting on my couch and grumbling about Mira being late. How did I walk out of my apartment without my knowledge?
As I squinted my eyes at the window a low gasp slipped my lips. There was a huge water body beyond the window, surrounded by trees everywhere. I pushed the covers off my body and trudged towards the gallery, wincing with each step. It was cold everywhere so I wrapped an arm around myself.
A cold gust of wind hit me and I shivered, tightening the grip around my body. The air smelled warm and crisp which was shocking since it was cold.
"Miss Talia" I jumped at the sudden tone, turning around and hitting my head in the process.
There was a woman, slender and tall, bowing her head down. She had a black long gown on her body, fully covering her arms. Her hair was tied in a bun along with a red ribbon on top.
Rubbing my head I pushed the door shut behind me. My eyes watered at the pain but I blinked them back.
"How do you know my name?"
"Your lunch is on the table, Miss. Is there anything specific you want to eat?" I narrowed my eyes at her as she refused to raise her head up.
"I'm asking you something"
She was quiet. For a second I doubted that she might be a robot that's why she was not responding. When I tried to slide closer towards her she seemed on edge so I sighed. The last thing I wanted was to scare someone.
My eyes widened when I noticed chicken tikka with macaroni and diet coke. How did she know my favourite dish? It was impossible to even guess because it was such an absurd combination.
"How did you know about my favourite dish?" I questioned again but there was silence from her side. Frustrated I kicked at the edge of the bed, only injuring my foot in the process. A cry tore out of my throat as I tried to sit down on the bed, my leg throbbing from the impact.
She bought me the first aid box from the drawer, "Do you want me to apply this for you miss?"
I gritted my teeth, pulling the box away from her forcefully. It may not be her fault but I was getting incredibly frustrated to not know about anything. She ducked her head at my action.
"Get out of here"
As she walked out of the room I threw the box on the other side of the bed. The smell of chicken wafted throughout the room but I refused to take another peek at the plate. What if someone poisoned the food? I cannot take a risk not when I could be enjoying my unborn baby.
My hand went towards my stomach and a sob ripped out of me. What was I going to do? If I don't find any way to get out of wherever I was they could kill me. Who were these people? Was it the doing of that creepy man in the bar? The thought terrified me and I cried some more till my tears dried and I let my head fall on the side.

I jerked awake from my sleep at the sound of the knock. Rubbing my eyes I blinked at the entrance of door only to notice another woman. She was dressed in a similar manner as the one who came in to give me food.
"What do you want?" I rasped, my voice still groggy and low. Swallowing the lump down my throat I tried to sit up on the bed.
"My King has requested your presence in the red room"
A shiver ran through my body at her tone. Who was this person? He must be incredibly rich to have so many servants. What kind of person asks others to call him King? I scoffed at the thought.
Whoever he was I did not care because I was going to give him a piece of mind. My hand immediately when towards my jeans pocket but then I noticed I did not have the pepper spray along with me. I frowned at that. There has to be some way to injure the King guy and escape. I thought.
"What is the red room?"
The maid softly said, "Can you please hurry up Miss Talia? My King is not the most patient man"
"Well I don't give a fuck about your King"
The maid just shook her head and approached me. She took a look at the plate on the table and let out a sigh. It was untouched because there was no way I was going to believe them.
"Is the food not to your liking Miss?"
Annoyed at her tone, I twisted my lips, "Can you stop calling me that? My name is Talia"
"And no I don't want to eat this shit food and get killed"
"We assure you miss that's the last thing we want. Please eat something."
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah right like I'm going to believe whatever comes out of your mouth."
She opened her mouth as if to say something but shook her head and clasped her hands together. My eyebrows furrowed at that. What was she playing at?
"Are you ready to go Miss?"
"Go where?" I gritted my teeth, my eyes still searching for something that could do serious harm.
"To meet My King"

I couldn't stop staring at the walls as we walked through a long hallway. There were inscriptions everywhere, mostly it was Latin but as I strode further the language was different. Did it translate to something? The symbols and letters were too tiny and stretched till the ceiling. Even if I was capable of reading Latin there was no way that I could reach that high. Besides who paints their walls in that way? A crazy person that's who.
Also as I trailed behind the maid I couldn't help but notice how dark the hallway was in spite of having light bulbs on both sides of the walls. It's like they were focusing the light on something else.
"What is this place?" I asked, unable to control myself, turning my head towards Kira. That was her name. The only thing she answered.
Kira stared in my direction, long and hard before her eyes shifted towards the front, "You will find out soon enough"
"That's not creepy at all"
Her lips twitched at sides. It was good to know that she was capable of feeling something. As the red door appeared in front of us, Kira motioned for me to stop.
"Is this the room?" I questioned, looking on either side. It was dark everywhere. All the light from the bulbs on the wall was focused on the red door which gives it an eerie look. If the King guy was going for that look then he completely succeeded.
She hummed, "This is where I leave you, Miss."
"What do you mean by that?" I questioned, turning my head towards her but she was gone. Vanished just like that. My eyes widened and I gulped loudly. Was I dreaming again? How can a person vanish just like that?
Taking a deep breath I pushed open the door and stepped inside. It closed automatically behind my back. I blinked my eyes at the bright red light everywhere. No wonder it was called the red room.
"Hello?" I whispered, my voice barely audible as I tried to walk further.
The room was huge, furniture everywhere. I don't know if it was the lighting but even the furniture appeared to be red. This guy was clearly obsessed with the colour and had some issues if he was able to create a room like that. It seemed like something an insane person would do.
I caught a glimpse of a person standing towards the window. His back was towards me.
"Hi, Talia. Miss me?" He questioned, his voice sultry and dark. I knew that voice. As I lifted my head to look at him it felt like my breath was knocked out of my lungs. Lukas.
My eyes were impossibly wide, hands cold and clammy as I was trying to control my erratic breathing. The sound of my blood rushing echoed in my ears.
"Lukas?" I whispered, my eyes digging into him. He inched closer, taking my hand in his.
"Can you please sit down? There's something I need to tell you"
