Chapter 13: Chapter 13
A month has passed and I still haven’t been found. No one has come to rescue me , this was my fate and I have clearly accepted my fate.
*******
I woke up to the sound of the alarm blaring in my ear. It was still dark outside, but everyone got up , preparing to start their day, we were all packed up in a small room with several others. There were Lunas, Zetas, and gammas from different clans.
As I got dressed, I thought about the day ahead. I would be working in the Alpha's estate, cleaning and cooking and doing whatever else they wanted me to do. I was now a slave and I had a new mission. My desire is to free everyone from this dark wolf .
I made my way to the kitchen, where the others were already up and working. We didn't talk much, just went about our business in silence. We all knew that any misstep could result in punishment, and none of us wanted to risk it.
As we finished our work and got ready to leave, I noticed someone new standing in the doorway. He was tall and handsome, with piercing blue eyes and dark hair that fell in waves around his face. He looked like he didn't belong here like he was too good for this place.
"Who are you?" I asked, unable to keep the curiosity out of my voice.
"I'm Paxton," he said with a smile. "I'm here to oversee the work for the day."
I nodded, not knowing what else to say. I had never seen any one else here besides the dark werewolf. Everyone here was a slave.
"Are youElena?" he asked, looking at me with interest.
I nodded again, feeling a strange flutter in my stomach. There was something about this person, something that drew me to him despite myself. I heard that this was how we were supposed to feel when we were close to our mate.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Elena," he said, still smiling. "I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of each other."
I didn't know what he meant, but before I could ask, everyone started pushing past me to get out the door. I followed them, feeling like I was leaving something important behind.
As we walked to the Alpha's estate, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was different today. There was a buzz in the air, a sense that something was about to change.was I about to come up with an escape idea to free everyone from this dungeon?
When we arrived at the estate, Paxton, our supervisor was waiting for us. He greeted us with a smile and a nod, and then led us inside. I could feel his eyes on me as we walked, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement.
We worked hard that day, cleaning and cooking and doing whatever else the Alphas wanted us to do. But there was something different about the way Paxton watched us, something that made me feel like he was on our side.
As the day went on, I found myself stealing glances at him whenever I could. He was always watching us, always making sure that we were safe and well cared for. It was a strange feeling, to be looked after by someone, but it was also a comforting one.
"Elena, can I speak with you for a moment?" Paxton voice interrupted my thoughts.
I turned to face him, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. "Sure, what's up?"
He motioned for me to follow him to a quiet corner of the room, away from the others. "I wanted to talk to you about something. I know that life isn't easy for you and everyone here. I know you’re still new here but I wouldn’t want you to keep experiencing this torment. I want to help."
I stared at him in disbelief. "What do you mean? Who are you?and why do you want to help us?”
Paxton sighed, looking down at the ground. “I’m Alpha Caesar’s son, I’m also an Alpha but I’m not like my father, I’m different. My father is power greedy and in his quest for power he has acquired a dark side. I really want to help, it’s not going to be easy but I want to try. I think there's a way for us to work together, to make things better for everyone."
The Dark Alphas son!? I didn't know what to say. It was a dangerous idea, to even think about challenging the power of the Alpha. But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope.
"What do you need me to do?" I asked, determined to do whatever it took to make things better.
Paxton smiled, looking up at me with a sense of pride. "I need you to be brave. I need you to be willing to stand up for what's right, even if it means putting yourself in danger."
I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. "I can do that. I want to help."
We spent the rest of the day working together, planning, and strategizing. Paxton was unlike any Alpha I had ever met before. He was kind and thoughtful, always looking for ways to help others. It was a strange feeling, to be working with an Alpha, but it was also exhilarating.
As the day came to a close, Paxton pulled me aside once again. "I want you to know that I believe in you,Elena. I know that we can make a difference together."
I felt a sense of warmth spread through me, a feeling of belonging that I had never experienced before. "Thank you,Paxton . I believe in you too."
As I walked back to my room that night, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to change. There was a sense of hope in the air, a feeling that we could make a difference if we worked together and I’ll finally be home to my parents.
I didn't know what the future held, but I knew that I was ready to fight for a better world, no matter the cost. With Paxton by my side, I felt like anything was possible.
The next day, Paxton approached me again with a sense of urgency in his eyes.
"Elena, I need your help. There's something you need to see," he said.
Without hesitation, I followed him through the maze of hallways and into a secret room deep within the Alpha headquarters. As he opened the door, I saw something that made my blood run cold.
In the center of the room was a Luna, barely conscious and covered in bruises. She was shackled to the floor, her eyes closed in pain.
"What is this? What have they done to her?" I asked, horrified.
Paxtons voice was filled with anger as he explained. "This is what he does to anyone who disobeys him. He beats them, torture them, and then throw them in here to be sacrificed to the moon goddess”
I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I looked at the helpless girl on the ground. "We have to do something. We can't just leave her here."
Paxton nodded in agreement. "I know. That's why I brought you here. We need to expose the truth about what's happening here. We need to show the world the true face of what the dark Alpha society is all about."
But as we turned to leave, the door suddenly opened and a group of dark Alphas stormed in, led by the ruthless Dark Alpha commander, Marcus.
"What are you doing here, Paxton? And why have you brought a Gamma in here with you?" he sneered, his eyes flashing with anger.
Paxton stood tall, his voice filled with defiance. "We're here to expose the truth. We can't let this cruelty continue."
Marcus laughed, his eyes cold and calculating. "The truth you think you can handle, Paxton? You're nothing but a traitor of your own."
I stood frozen, my heart racing with fear as the Alphas closed in on us. I had known that there would be risks to working with Paxton, but I had never imagined anything like this.
But Paxton was undaunted. "I'm not a traitor.. I'm fighting for what's right, for what's just. And I'm not alone, even those who believe in the power of love and compassion."
For a moment, there was a tense standoff between the two sides. But then, unexpectedly, one of the Alphas stepped forward, his eyes filled with a sense of uncertainty.
"Paxton, I... I believe in you. I want to help," he said, his voice shaking. I was sure, most of them here weren’t killing people at their own will, they were forced or possessed and controlled.
Paxton smiled, a look of gratitude on his face. "Thank you, my friend. We can't do this alone. We need all the help we can get."
And just like that, the standoff was broken. The other Alphas began to waver, some of them stepping forward to join Paxton and me. It was a small victory, but it was a start.
As we left the room, with the battered Luna in our arms, I asked myself if I was going to leave here alive.
