Chapter 38: Chapter 38

Olivia's pov:

The alarm went wild early in the morning. I got up lazily from the chair and immediately felt a numbing sensation in my hand and wrist.

I looked at them and realized that they were a bright red colour. I must've rested my head on them while sleeping on the chair.

My head felt heavy and it hurt in a few intervals of time. I didn't get much sleep last night as I was up most of the time, twisting and turning myself on the bed until I eventually sat myself on the chair.

This was because my mind couldn't rest knowing that I was very close to finding the murderer the previous day.

I felt a bit hopeful that I could finally confront the murder during Vidcon day 3 and finally get justice for my family.

I got dressed up and grabbed my bag as usual. The lights of the room turned off as I slid the key up from the card slot.

I opened the door of my room and as the lock clicked, I saw complete darkness as a black cloth was placed over my eyes, blocking my sight.

My hands felt constricted as they were held at my back. I tried to struggle my way out of the person's tight grip, but it was useless.

I wasn't that strong as compared to the person behind me.

"If you scream or do anything to alert someone, I will kill you!" I heard a deep male voice speak in a muffled manner.

He started to make me walk in front of him as he had my hands tied up behind me and had his hand holding my arm to direct me where to walk.

All I could see was darkness and all I could hear was our footsteps against the carpeted floor of the hotel.

I guessed we had approached the back door of the hotel as I heard a hissing of the pipes when the guy opened up a metal door.

We continued to walk until he lowered me into his car and fastened my seat belt for me.

I kept on trying to struggle my way out of his grip but again nothing worked.

My mind was trying to figure out who this guy was and what he wanted from me. Was he the murdered himself or a random kidnapper? Either way, I feared for my life.

Despite the scary circumstances, I had to admit that this kidnap didn't feel too surprising for me as a lot of weird things had happened to me during this entire trip.

My ears were filled with car honks as we made our way through so much traffic. I was able to tell that the kidnapper was very frustrated at the immense traffic that day.

Next thing I suddenly heard from him was a "hello". It sounded as if he was talking to someone on the phone.

"I'm coming!" he added in a breathy voice.

"Where are you taking me?" I demanded an answer.

I was on the verge of screaming but I didn't do so because of his threat to kill me.

"You don't need to know about that!" he yelled, again in a muffled like voice.

His response left me mute, but I was more concerned at trying to pinpoint what his voice sounded like. Whether it was familiar to me or not.

Whenever he would speak, it sounded as if he covered his mouth or nose to try and change his voice to make it unidentifiable.

Next that I heard was the car's tires screeching as the car was put to a stop.

I heard him open and slam the car door shut as he got up from the driver's seat. He then approached me at the passenger's seat and unfastened my seatbelt.

He held both my hands together and dragged me out of the car. I continued to struggle as I heard my voice becoming more and more faint, indicating that we entered some sort of building lined with thin metal sheets.

I heard him drag what sounded like a chair with metal legs towards me. He forced me to sit on the cold hard chair and proceeded to tie my hands to the back of the chair.

And the next thing I knew was my blindfold slowly losing its tightness around my face. It kept on happening until, I was finally able to see the light.

My eyes scanned the entire area quickly. I was in the middle of a rundown building. The walls were filled with holes of varying diameter, loose bricks were scattered around the premises, loose pieces of cloth were getting blown in random places by the wind and the entire place was caked in dust, dirt and grime!

Suddenly what my eyes saw shocked me greatly! My heart started to beat rapidly with sweat dripping down my forehead.

The kidnapper to my shock and horror was Jack!

Why? Why did the person who took care of me the most do this? Why did he kidnap me?

"Jack!" I exclaimed questionably.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I attempted to move hands but forgot that they were tied tight to the chair.

I let out some frustration as Jack looked at me with a neutral face. It felt as if he wasn't present at all.

All I wanted to know was why was he doing this? My mind was scrambling to think of some possible reasons.

Just then, I heard a car screech its way to the rundown building.

Out of the black shiny car, I saw two black boots step out. As the person grew nearer, I did not expect to see what I saw.
