The inmates besides Kate's cell called her out.

" It's your turn to wash the restroom, your highness. You look different from the TV or am I mistaken? " She taunts handing Kate the brush but dropped it instead ' oops sorry, I'm sure you had maids for it. Polish my nails when you're done" she finished giggling while Kate shrugged wincing from bending so low as her full breast was giving her pains. She refused to take medications for it as a reminder of the son she lost.

" Inmate 2458, you have a visitor" the warden announced as everyone looked around for the lucky one excluding Kate who was transfixed in her world.

" Inmate 2458, you have got a visitor" the warden repeated with respect this time pointing at her. Kate gave him a quizzical look.

" I think there's a mistake somewhere, I'm not expecting visitors" she replied uncertainty of David's quick response. Though she hasn't thought about it.

The warden went forward to cuff her then directed her to a private room that was pitch black that she was wondering if her eyes were opened or closed though she wasn't scared.

" How do you like your punishment, Kate? His baritone voice steered the anger inside her as she dashed at him but ended up hitting the desk.

" Where are you bastard. I'm going to kill you. Our son is dead Alvin. You killed him" she accused shedding tears that wouldn't stop escaping from her eyes like a stream.

She waited for him to say something, anything but he didn't. She couldn't help but think he brought her to a dark room to taunt her.

" I don't want to see you either" she sassed in oblivion that she had blurted her thoughts out loud.

Cynthia took the opportunity to cling to him. As Alvin wasn't himself anymore. His stock was diminishing. Shareholders questioned his decisions. Cynthia had a lot to do to make sure he doesn't lose his company to the highest bidder.

Kate finally decided after watching Alvin and Cynthia hand in hand on TV smiling. She was going to do anything to live. She would wait for the right time to strike. Didn't he ruin her life? She was going to prove him wrong by accepting David's offer. He's going to regret locking her up.

David had ulterior motives so does she? She was going to pretend as nothing happened.

Within three days, David post bailed her. It's been four months, Kate had seen the bright sky and the sun. She closed her eyes to feel the gush of the wind then breath in the cool air of freedom.

She was ready to make a difference and Alvin Reagan was going to pay for taking the people she cared about from her.

Logan, David's chief of security opened the door for them then drove off while David smiled coyly rejoicing.

" Would you like to have anything? She shook her head catching a glimpse of her haggard appearance. She looked shabby and thin. Her short hair was longer reaching her shoulder.

The car took a turn which surprised her . ' where are we going?

" Somewhere good. A place where you don't have to worry about running into him. At least let him miss you" he voiced amused.

" What's so funny?

" Nothing. Just imagining his outburst when he finds out you're not in town" she didn't find it funny.

' what about my divorce to him? I'm tired of being his wife"

" Let's take a timeout. We can make a comeback after you're certain of what you want. You need some rest, Kate. " He informed as she shrugged in agreement. It was too late to back out. She was going through with it: to be a better opponent, a better person. Someone he can't easily trample on. Someone more.

The chief of police was fired the moment Alvin found out he released Kate without his permission but that wasn't what had him on the edge but the person that freed her ' David Wilson' then everything began to fall in, the parcel, the footage, the photos, and the recording. David was the only one to do so without a trace.

He massaged his brows frustrated wondering what he tends to gain from ruining his marriage. Finding David was a task for someone else and he wasn't going to stop till he finds her.

" Alvin, you don't look well. We need a doctor" Lisa informed as he sprinted past her to his son's room then sent for the doctor.

He couldn't help but sigh as he wanted a complete family. Should he have forgiven her? Little by little, he noticed how lonely it was without her. She was the one he goes home to. He raised his head and stared at a photo of Kate in the room with a heavy heart.

He sat by the crip with an unwavering gaze oblivious to Bianca's presence.

' she's pretty isn't she? His mom teased as he chuckled facing her.

" She left. She turned to my rival for help. I guess we are too different. I hurt her and she hurt me back crumbling my world. She was indeed special" he uttered as Bianca pulled him into a warm hug placating him.

' you've Simon. He's the fruit of your love. Hang in there son cos he needs you. The whole of you. So get up and fight back. Take back what's yours. Our companies are losing millions because you're unstable. You've got to do something about it" Alvin released himself from the hug sitting with his head low.

" I miss her mom. I miss Kate. I didn't realize how much she meant to me till now. She was my anchor. Someone I wanted to impress. I'll do anything for her yet I let David separate us. He wanted me to lose focus. She completes me, mom. I don't know what to do anymore yes Cynthia is trying to fix things between us but she's nothing like my Kate: confident and selfless. Is she that scared of me? Why can't she tell about my intentions" Bianca sat beside him resting his head on her chest running a hand through his hair.

" Perhaps we need to show her by raising Simon. He's your redemption ticket. I'm sure she left because she was told he died. I understand her pain but believe me she'll reconsider the moment she finds out he's alive believe me" she suggested as he cackled standing up with his hands upwards picking the photo on the wall then smashed it.

" No mom, this is the last time I'll talk about her. She made her choice and I'm not some lovesick puppy to wallow over her. She ceases to exist from this day henceforth. Her name is forbidden in my house. My son won't learn of a treacherous mother. Kate is my past. she's history" he concluded tearing the photo into shreds.

" But she's still your wife" he exhaled taking his wedding ring off.

" We'll see about that" with that said he closed the door walking to his room then met Colton on the way.

" Sir, I found the delivery man. I saw Logan a few meters away also I checked the CCTV footage in Venice and he was there also. David has been playing God in your life. Kate might have fallen into his trap. What do we do next? Alvin glared at him striding past him without a word but Colt wasn't the type to back down so he followed him.

" The Wilson's industries have been increasing in number and inflation is quite low as well I think he targeted you for a reason. He wants to win the competition. You've to do something" he urged but Alvin wasn't worried about his companies at the moment.

" I know. Stay out of it. He'll show up sooner or later as for the competition it's all his. Payment for his smartness. I won't lay low forever" he said dejectedly grabbing a bottle of wine in the cellar gulping some.

" We can't lose and he has Kate. She might be in danger. Please think about it"

" I thought you hated her. Kate hates me. She ruined everything I have worked hard for. I fell for the wrong woman. Don't ever mention her name* he snapped gulping the whole bottle then tossed it away ushering him out of his office.

Naomi took the opportunity to approach Alvin requesting after Kate as though sensing his mood, she made herself a frequent visitor yet he wouldn't look her way.

Alvin didn't want to dwell on Kate's issue thus moved out of the house to another part of the city where he was raising his son deciding to rename him as his name reminded him of Kate.
