Dante Lorenzo was in turmoil stupefied at the kind of power he held even the lawmakers feared him. He was having second thoughts about crossing him. The law is blind they say. Does that apply to everything?

He was still in a trance when David took a seat across him motioning him to join him with his finger. A glance at him, Dante could tell he was a powerful man with his confidence.

A cough escaped him then he shrugged wondering if it's a good idea to get involved with him. He doesn't even know his name perhaps his sister would.

He sat down nevertheless looking at a stoic David.

" You look scared Mr. Lorenzo. Trust me I'm not your enemy. We both want the same thing just for different reasons" he spoke with diligence lighting a cigar

" What's your name?

"Don't worry about it. Can I have the videos? I'll take it from there" he stated, there was something about him that gave Dante the creeps. His instincts were telling him not to trust him. As a renounced lawyer, he always follow his instincts.

" I didn't bring it. I'll like to know how you can make it happen. I've been trying for days now but nothing. What's your take on this? Dante questioned. David leaned back on the soft chair smoking his cigar.

" Not your concerns lover boy. Do you want to get your girl or not? Stop wasting my time" he uttered running out of patience.

" I don't have them here. Now can I hear it? He demanded as David filled him in. Dante's face darkened then turned to a full smile.

" I'll need the evidence to do so believe me you made the right call. What a poor girl she is" he stated standing up to leave while Dante stayed rooted to his sitting position.

He was certain nothing was stopping him now but was curious to know what David's gain will be from their separation.

He knew better than to trust him but decided to play along.

Kate's bump was getting big. She rubbed it realizing she was really pregnant but was sad. Dante still hasn't sent Alvin the divorce papers.

" Sweet, are you listening? I'm going to shower my love on you. You'll have a daddy too. I can't wait to hold you" she said then kissed her palms and placed them on her stomach smiling.

" Mommy is going to protect you from this evil world. Shield you from chaos and anarchy. I can't wait" rubbing her stomach, she confessed as Lisa entered grinning. She was glad the long wait was over.

" How old is it? She asked startling Kate who covered her stomach with the sweater stepping away from the mirror.

" Have you told sir Alvin? He will be thrilled to hear it. Kate your suffering is over" she said in excitement hugging her.

' I don't want him to know. Please Lisa keep it a secret. I don't want to tell him yet. The timing isn't right" she lied. Lisa was too happy to notice it but proposed to conceal it.

The days went on with the household preparing for Christmas. Kate was looking forward to hearing from Dante but nothing. She feared Alvin will find out sooner or later and she doesn't want that.

She wanted to raise her baby in a serene environment with lots of love and hugs. She didn't know being a mother was that interesting.

Alvin was in the living room helping with the Xmas tree.

" Hi. What are you doing? She asked stunned to see him trying so hard.

He shrugged then walked to her enveloping her a hug.

" Well, our first Christmas together. What do you think? He gestured to the enormous tree back hugging her. She leaned on him with her head on his chest thanks to the heels and squirmed.

" It's beautiful. I didn't know you could decorate trees. You've many sides to you" she commented with her hands on top of his around her waist.

" I guess I want you to see this one. How about you make it up to me later. It's been days since you know" he paused as she frowned stiffening at the memory then released herself from his hold.

" I'll help with the fries. Get on with it" she stated as he drew her bag caressing her hair slowly. She gasped wondering what she did to piss him off again. Can't they have a normal conversation without the sex part? He'd date her without it then again it was shortly before he proposed.

" I want to have beautiful Christmas with you. Be it sex or romance. I want it. Prepare yourself. I'm glad you grew your hair" he stated neither shabby nor calm just enough for her to understand his intentions then kissed her.

Kate raised her brows opening her eyes to meet a smirk plastered on his face.

" Good. Now let's go shopping. We have a lot to do" he finished licking her earlobes then grinned exiting the room.

She puffed out some air taking a step back. She grabbed her long fur jacket waiting for him.

She really see the need for the outing as they shopped for groceries mostly then she saw an Xmas giveaway staring at it which had him looking in the direction.

Couples were playing games to win something for their spouses. Darts were been thrown, balloons and plastic balls and bananas.

" Are you a kid now? What could you possibly want that I can't afford? He snapped dissuading her from thinking about it.

" I do need a fluffy bear. Look at its size. Please Alvin win it for me as a Christmas present? I promise to send Christmas cards to your parents" she pouts wriggling her shoulder.

" Don't go there. I'm not doing that. Sorry, Kate. Not happening' he refused to pay for the groceries.

Kate was awfully quiet during their drive home due to his negligence. He refused to have fun with her, be it the bonfire night or the photoshoot, or the season couple games. He literally refused. She picked the latter watching girls her age laugh and have fun with their partners.

She stared so much that she didn't notice the drop of tears escaping her eyes but he did.

Alvin shrugged watching her sob for something so minor not that he would have gone with her. She has lost that right.

Colton dropped them off at the compound while the maids unpacked the trunk. Kate alighted and walked into the house directly to her room. He successfully ruined her day.

She was still sulking when he entered her room with a gift box handing it to her.

" Do you know how difficult it is to climb down to this floor? Cynthia doesn't live here for now. Go back to your room Kate. I had Lisa make another for you" he stated running a hand through his hair like he was affected by her environment.

" I like it here Alvin. What's this? She asked unwrapping the box

" Something to lighten your mood. I'll see you tomorrow. Good night Kate" with that said he left leaving Kate to unravel the mysterious gift. She rubbed her neck nervously sitting on the bed to see what made the mighty Alvin look so nervous and cranky for.

The box-dropped lid fell from the bed the moment she discovered the big fluffy bear he bought her and it was the same one she wanted him to win for her.

She knew he was trying to make up for forcing himself on her but she couldn't help but melt at his gesture. It was unlike him. She touched its fluffy pink ears smiling then held it to her chest. Now she had a companion.

She had the sweetest dreams since his return while holding the teddy bear to sleep unaware of tomorrow's event.
