It wasn't something she was going to accept. In a haste, she ran out of the house to get a pregnancy kit but stopped panting heavily.

She palmed herself thinking she was making a mistake. She was on pills. Not when she was planning to divorce him.

" Damn you Alvin" she cussed trailing out of the house to get it.

She decided to see Dante after learning about it. Dante gave her his home address. She was there shortly.

" I got your message. I'm preparing for it already. No need for photos." He tells her sitting beside her.

" You look worried. Are you okay? Kate, you're shaking. Did he hurt you? Just a little time left" he coaxed

" No Dante. I can't do it. Just get me out of here. It's not right" she stuttered fiddling with her palms

" What are you talking about Kate? We've been planning this for months now. You can't back down now" he snapped

" Just hear me out okay?" She urged scooting closer to him then continued ' I was raised and brought up by my mom. She had me when she was in college. I never met my dad. Mom said he wasn't ready. She said he left town when she was three months pregnant. Growing was hard without a father Dante. Other women mocked us, children called me a bastard. Mom said my Dad returned when I was seven. She accepted him because she wanted a complete family for me. But he lied. He got her pregnant again and went away with her valuables leaving me to clean after his mess. That didn't break mom till the day my brother Louis needed a bone marrow transplant. That man didn't show up either. I was in high school then. Louis spent most of his life in the hospital bed. Mom sold all she had to find a donor. Luckily my granduncle was a match. Dante, I lost my mom that day. She became a shell of her former self" she sniffled while he gave her pitiful glances trying to say something.

" I don't want my children to go through all that. I don't want to deprive them of their right to have a father. I can't" she stated pacing.

Dante lowered his head in realization. He rubbed his palm together and exhale.

" You're pregnant" it wasn't a question but she answered.

" Yes, I am " she admitted

" I'm sorry I can't go on with it. I know he's a beast. I can't make that choice for my unborn baby. "

" You never wanted a baby. He'll see you in him. He'll maltreat him the way he maltreats you. Kate, get rid of it. Save the poor baby from a lifetime of suffering" he tells her.

"That's why I was extra careful. Those pills cost me a fortune. I can't believe they failed me. " She puzzled still pacing while Dante raised his head with his mind made up.

" Fine, then I'll be his father. Just leave that beast, please. We can get married too. Anything to get you away from him. Please Kate" he coaxed as she halt staring at him Lost for words.

" You'll do that for me?

" I'll do anything for you princess. Let's get this over with" he stated pulling her into a hug.

" That's possible. I... I don't know how to thank you enough" she stated holding him tight.' I can't wait to be free again. Thanks, Dante" she appreciated him happily.

Dante saw her off and sighed. She'll belong to him soon then his phone rang.

" Hello, who is this?

" Someone who is going to fulfill your dreams of being with her. Don't be in a haste lover boy" Dante removed the phone from his ears to check the number and pressed record placed it back.

" What are you talking about?

" A few photos or videos won't convict Alvin Reagan. You don't know him as I do. But with my help, it'll be possible. All you have to do is listen" he spoke piquing Dante's interest. Like they say good things don't come easy.

Dante listened to the instructions and smiled. He was ready to do anything to help her.
