Chapter 44: Chapter 44

Life is just a hustle. One only strive to survive. Today is the day. The day of the match and unfortunately for Ivan he can't make it because his sickness worsen earlier this morning. He had to be rushed to the hospital if not he might collapsed.

Ivan was sad that he couldn't be in the Match. His fellow team mate assured him not to be worried because they know his condition and they also know how he has always wanted to participate in this game today.

Ivan was still sad no matter what people said to make him feel better. Nothing hurt more than this. He put his all into this coming game  and the worse is he infact didn't even have Lucy's time all because of this game and then here he was laying on a hospital bed looking at the ceiling with no one to keep him company. Williams is a player too so he needs to be at the field since the game is about to begin.

He groaned loudly that infact, he even got the attention of his fellow colleagues who are a patient too.

" Man you're too loud" the guy whose bed was beside ivan's said.

Ivan only glared at him then sat upright " it's non of your business"

The guys raised a brow " You're here groaning loudly when we're trying to sleep and you call that not my business? You must be crazy then. Do you think you're the only one with a problem? We all have our problems but first we just want to get better then look for ways to solve this problems we're also having outside the world "

" Just leave me alone man. I don't need your advice"

The guy shrugged " it's your business but please don't be too loud cos I'm trying my best to sleep"

" Whatever"

The man shrugged then closed his eyes so as to allow sleep to take over.

Ivan tried to reason what the man's said. What he actually said really made sense. It's best he try and get better first then he can solve his pending problems. That is exactly what he plan on doing .

He decided to just take a nap and sleep things through.

Since Lucy's mom left yesterday, the girl wouldn't stop saying how they missed her already. How they missed her delicious meal and the motherly feel she gave their apartment.

" God I miss your mom and it's crazy" Sarah groaned as she collapsed beside Lucy on the couch

" I miss her too. Well you heard her already, she said she'll come visit one of this two days and I sure hope she'll stay much more longer next time " Lucy said

" But we can still go visiting, right ?"

Lucy nodded with a smile " why not. We can go maybe after tomorrow's lecture hopefully"

" That will be nice "

" Yeah"

Lucy looked at her weirdly and Abby raised a brow at her " what? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Lucy sat upright to come face to face with Sarah " why have you been hiding alot of things from me? I thought we were best friends"

Sarah put her head down in shame " I'm sorry"

" Sarah I understood where you're coming from but you still don't have the right to hide things from me . We're even more like a sister and we both help ourselves with daily advice. You know that I'll always stand by you "

" I know but you know I hate to always burden people with my problems and moreover I just wanted to forget that part of my life it's something I hate to talk about. It always gives me this cool that I don't like at all"

" But you still should have told me. I look stupid not knowing anything about you and it's crazy"

" I'm sorry " she picked on her nails.

Lucy held Sarah's hand " I understand where you're coming from and I'm not blaming you at all. Just please all I ask from you is your trust , trust me with your problems whether big or small. I'll always be here for you "

" I know and thanks for that . I won't lie to you, telling you guys my problems actually release a burden in me . I feel light and good and it  feels surreal because I'm always conscious of what I say when it comes to family matters. I don't trust people with my problems that easily. You and your mom feels like home, it's as if I found home in you and I'm loving every bit of it" Sarah said with a happy smile.

Lucy pulled her in for a tight hug " I've also found a sister in you so never pull back when you want to talk about things that bothers you. You're just like family to us and mom also loves you so much"

Sarah smiled " I know "

" So my dear let's get up and prepare lunch . I'm hungry and mom wouldn't like that if she finds out"

They both chuckled and decided to get something to eat.

James visited the hospital frequently now base on his doctor's order. He became close with the doctor and things actually have fall in place for him. The constant pain has reduce and he is so glad about that. Abby has been supportive of him. She actually took everything calmly and in a more mature manner who would have thought.

Infact he always gives her updates about how things have been going at the hospital.

" Welcome James" said the doctor

" Thank you"

" Have your seat please " the doctor told him and he did as he was told.

" After going through your second result, I'm glad to let you know that there is an improvement, a far far improvement"

James face broke into a smile " Really Doctor?"

" Yes and I'm so happy that I'm the giver of this perfect news" the doctor couldn't hide his happiness.

" Thanks alot doctor. You don't know how helpful you've been to me and I'm forever grateful for that" James told him.

" So the result shows that you have just 20% to be free from the disease"

" That's a great news. I'll keep on pushing and I know I can do this till the end" a determine James said.

" Yes you can. Congratulations ones again"

James stood up and stretch out his hand for a hand shake.

" It was a pleasure knowing you doctor. You really aren't like other doctors. Some don't even try their best to encourage people . They just say what the result is and then that's it." James said

" This is to show you that not all doctors and nurses are wicked as people portray them to be "

" Yes now I know"

" So by the way how is your girlfriend doing . Hope she took it lightly?" The doctor asked

James smiled widely " yeah she truly is an angel. She keeps giving me this advice to never give up. I love that lady so much doctor"

" I know she loves you too"

" Sure. So doc, I think I'll be on my way now"

" Alright then. Will be expecting you tomorrow"

" Sure, thanks ones again"

Sarah and Lucy took a walk down their school premises in hope to kill the boredom for staying indoor too much

They sat on a swing both with their ice cream. They laughed and shared story and it was fun. It's been long they had this girl time together. School has made them forgotten that fun too was needed.

" So Lucy"

Lucy licked the ice-cream off her spoon " yeah? What's the matter?"

" Have you and Ivan had a conversation at all?"

Lucy raised a brow wanting to know what to brought the Ivan topic " why should we?"

"Really? Is that all you can say?"

Lucy groaned " here I thought me saying what I just said would make you drop the topic but it seems you're not ready to drop it at all. You're adamant I swear"

Sarah chuckled " my dear we must talk about it whether you like it or not . I won't let the matter die down at all. You and Ivan are trying to prove that you're stubborn"

Lucy's mood dies down. She let out a tired sigh " I miss him alot Sarah and I'm only trying to put my shit together"

" I know he does to"

" Then why haven't he called at all?

" I'm sure he is giving you your space. You know how guys can be, they just don't like all the drama. He'll call you, just wait and see" Sarah tried saying but Lucy wasn't having it at all.

" I hate you" she pouted

" No you love him dear. You're only sad that he didn't call" Sarah chuckled

They sat in silence for a while then both let out a sigh.

" I hate how things is going this way. He is not even making an attempt anymore and it's annoying" Lucy said sadly

Sarah let out a sigh" I wish I can be of any help. Do you want me to call him for you?"

Lucy raised a brows at her " please don't . I don't want to look stupid calling him first. He is the one that started the fight so he should be the one to end it"

" Relationship issues never ends. This is why at times I'm always self-conscious when getting into a relationship. I don't think I can deal with another problem when I have alot on my plate" Sarah rolled her eyes .

Lucy gave her this look that says " Really?you don't mean it. Life is more than that . It's better you don't delay yourself over something that can be easily solved "

" Whatever "

Lucy chuckled " So how about the guy you met few days ago? Have you guys called or even met at all?"

Sarah smiled " that reminds me , he called yesterday in the night while you were at sleep"

" So you won't even tell me if I didn't ask?"

" No don't say that . You know I'll definitely tell you, it might not be today but I'll still tell you. Don't forget that you're like a sister to me "

" Aww that's so sweet of you"

" Anyways . We talked about things Lucy, you can't imagine the kind of stuffs we talk about "

Lucy's ear perked up, she loves gist ". Please tell me "

Sarah chuckled " Alright tiger , just calm down I'll tell you. "

" Say it already"

" Ok fine, we talked about his life. He is an only child and the shocking of all is that he is an orphan. I was shocked when he told me "

Lucy couldn't believe it " really?"

" Yeah he is. Imagine my expression when he told me too. But anyways, he definitely is an orphan and a rich orphan at that . His parents left him some huge property and since he's the only heir , he's managing the whole business"

" Woooo!This must be nice then. My friend is dating a rich guy, infact I can't wait for the wedding. It's going to be MAD!" an excited Lucy said

Sarah chuckled at what her friend said . Lucy does know how to be a drama queen atimes .

" We're not even dating self . I don't know why you're busy blurting out all this"

" Really girl? Just wait and see how everything will go. You'll definitely come and thank me later and I'll make sure I rub it in your face"

" That would be mean of you. You know that right ?"

" Who cares. Anyways when are you guys meeting again?"

" Tomorrow hopefully"

" But wait Sarah, you said he's a student in our school right?"

" Yes"

" Then how comes he's already running the business when he's yet to finish schooling"

"Well he already knows so much about business before his parents passed away. He is someone we can call a fast learner.

The guy is just too intelligent for his own good.  I'm also surprise too"

Lucy wiggled her brows at her friend " I'm so happy you met him Sarah and I can't wait for him for ask you out "

" Whatever and by the way Miss, you need to give Ivan a call. My instincts is telling me that something is wrong with him"

" Excuse you? What could be wrong with someone that only cares about himself and nothing else and by the way why are you even bothered" Lucy said rudely

Sarah was unfazed by Lucy's words " just call him and find out what the matter is. The ivan I know wouldn't have allowed your phone to rest with his calls. I'm certain that something is going on somewhere just believe me on this"

Lucy's heart began to beat at what Sarah just said. She couldn't stop thinking about whether it was true or not.

She picked up her phone and decided to be the bigger person.
