The girls were amazed by what Lucy's mother said. They couldn't help the surprised look on their face.

" Girls the reason why I told you this story is just to share you guys little about my live. I didn't grow up in a rich home and I made sure i strive to reach where I am today"

Lucy cleared her throat " I have a question mom"

"  shoot".

" Who is Lucretia in the story?"

Her mother chuckles " To you who do you think Lucretia was amongst us?"

" Abby's mom?" Answered Lucy but she wasn't sure.

" Wrong" her mother chuckled

The two girls stared at her in shock " you're Lucretia?"

She nodded her head " yes I am Lucretia"

" I can't believe this. So grandma susan isn't your mom?" Lucy asked in confusion.

" Nope she isn't. She is my second family. We are not related by blood. Infact let me burst your bubble. She is the woman I worked for. She loved me like her own and that was how we became family "

" This is totally shocking mom. I never saw this coming "

" I know you'll be shocked "

" I really am mom. So grandma susan isn't your mom! God that woman is an angel. She has never even showed any sign that she isn't. So you mean uncle Gabriel is her only child ?"

She nodded " uncle Gabriel is her only child."

" This is really surprising. God I love that woman "

" She loves you too dear"

" I know mom"

Sarah stared at the duo she wiped a tears that drops down her face . Seeing this mother and daughters love always reminds her about her own abusive parents. Not once have she ever mentioned it to Lucy. She always keep it to herself. This is the reason why she prefers to stay in school than to go home.

The funniest of all is that her parents don't even care. They never called unless she calls them to ask for some things she need most especially money. Sarah sighed , life can be what it is at time.

" Sarah? Are you okay?" Lucy's mom asked as she stared at the sad girl.

Sarah  forced a smile on her face " I'm ok mom"

" Then come over for the group hug"

She stood up with a wide smile on her face. This is what she calls family. She join the hug and they all hugged tightly.

" Meeting you guys is just the best " Lucy's mom said.

" I'm the lucky one here. You two showed me   this true family love that one can always wish for. I'm so so lucky to meet you guys. Thanks for everything Lucy and mom" she stared at Lucy's mom in admiration.

" Oh dear, you're also family so never count yourself out. Meeting you is also the best and I don't mind having two daughters. It's a blessing" Lucy's mom said.

" So girls I think it's time I leave. I've already overstayed my welcome" she chuckled

" Mom.." Lucy drawled out

" What? I'm saying the truth now"

" God! Mom why are you saying it as if we don't want you here. Please spend the night here. We really want you to stay here mom" Lucy pleaded

Sarah also sat upright. She too want her to spend the night here. She really loves her company, it gives her this content feel in her. Something her mother can never do for anyone not even her own children.

" Please don't go. Stay till tomorrow please " Sarah begged " I've found home in you"

What Sarah said touches Lucy mom's heart. She smiled at the young lady " why do you say it as if you don't have a home?" She wonders. The pain look Sarah wore is something to be concerned about. The girl was full of life few seconds earlier and now she looks down. She was so concerned for Sarah, even Lucy too wonders what could be happening to Sarah that she isn't telling anyone.

" Sarah?" Lucy called as she noticed that her eyes were filled with unshed tears.

Sarah couldn't hold it anymore she allowed the tears to pour down freely. She tried getting up but Lucy wouldn't allow her .

" I'm sorry, please don't mind me" Sarah tried smiling it off but she failed miserably.

Lucy's mom went forward to hug her tightly. She rubbed her back gently " it's ok dear. Everything will be alright"

" I'm _ so_r_rry" she stuttered in-between her cries

" You don't need to say anything dear. Just pull yourself together"

" No I want you two to know. I'm tired of hiding what I feel inside "

" Oh Sarah!" Lucy pitied her.

" I've been going through alot that I'm  letting on. I come from a abusive home. My dad is a psychopath and my mom she doesn't gives a damn about anything. Infact both my parents lives as if they don't have children to look after. They don't even have our time not to even talk of our welfare. What they care about most is their job and whatever money they receive from it"

Sarah paused then stared at the two. They encouraged her to continue.

" We're three in my family. I have a elder brother who is a teacher. He isn't living with us, he rented a house somewhere far away from my house. I'm the second child and then the last born is also a girl. At time i fear that she might follow the wrong part because there is no one at home to put her through the right part"

" What about your parents? Don't they look after her as she is the last born and still young?" Lucy's mom asked

Sarah sighed " I wish it was as simple as you said. My parents don't care whether we are small or not. Most time she does call me to tell me all she's been going through at home. Sometimes, they leave only her at home to spend the night  while they both go to a all night party or somewhere to have fun. Susan sleeps home most of the time."

" That's pure wickedness!" Lucy's mom yelled out.

"That's outrageous!" Lucy growled out

Sarah sighed " this is why most time I feel bad when I thing about it. I wish I have the means to bring my sister here but I don't . Even I myself am also struggling to survive . It's better she keeps pushing till things fall into place"

Lucy rubbed Sarah's back gently " you really are going through alot and not even once have you ever shown it . Most time I even burden you with my problems but you never complained. How are you so good. I really feel bad for not knowing all these and it annoys me the more that all I care about is my love life. I'm deeply sorry Sarah for not being a good friend"

Sarah chuckled " God! lucy, please stop saying that. You really did alot for me that even you yourself don't know."

"How ?" A confused Lucy asked

" Don't you know that me acting like an adviser to you made me forget about my problems. It keeps my mind off things and it really works out well." Sarah explained.

" Who would have thought " Lucy said in bewilderment.

" I have a question dear" Lucy's mom started " what about your brother? Does he go home at all to check up on susan?"

Sarah nodded " yes he does. He is also doing his own part as the elder. He does wish he could take her with him but my parents makes it impossible for him. Whenever he takes her with him, they always go and bring her back"

" This is pure wickedness. How can they treat a minor like this?How dare them!"

" That's the life I've been living in all this while and I don't want to be a burden on anyone. That's why I make sure I keep it to

Myself" Sarah said. She stared at her hand.

" Don't you have any relatives whom you can report to?"

Sarah shook her head " They all left us after what my parents have done to each one of them. My parents downgraded them to the core that even if I was in their shoes, I'll never step foot into that house"

" I wish I knew about all this sooner. I'm deeply sorry Sarah" Lucy apologised.

" Please stop apologizing it's not your fault at all"

" But I should have seen some signs and I never did"

" That's because I hid it well from you. You don't have to blame yourself over something that isn't worth worrying about" Sarah tried assuring her but Lucy wasn't having it.

" I just feel so useless"

" Lucy enough please" her mother said " you heard what Sarah said. It's not your fault and what she need right now from us is solution. She needs that most right now not this cries of yours"

" What do you suggest we do mum?I'm really out of clue right now"

Lucy's mom turn to look at Sarah" Sarah when was the last time you visited home?"

" It's more than two months right now "

" What?!"

" Yes I know it quite long" she felt guilty

" So you mean you haven't seen your sister for more than two months now?" They were shocked

" But dear you know you ought to go check on her all the time. She's a novice and needs to be watched"

" My brother does that. He makes sure he check on her from time to time" Sarah tried defending herself.

" But still you as a sister also need to always go check up on her.i understand that school can be what it is atimes but you still owe her that visit. Your house isn't far from here if I'm not mistaken" Lucy's mom said

" Not at all. It's just a ten minutes ride"

" Please try your best to check up on her. Things will fall into place soon enough, I promise you. As long as you have me here with you dear, we'll all find a way to end this."

Sarah couldn't contain her joy " Thank you so much  ma"

" Please stop thanking me . You're also just like a daughter to me and I don't mind to take a risk for you"

Sarah shed tears of joy. It's just too much to take in for her. This woman sitting right in front of her is just the sweetest thing on earth. They've never met before if not for today and already she called her a family. What more could she ask for. Her life will definitely take a turn to the right way finally. Things would come back to normal and she can't wait for that day.

" So girls. I think it's time I call it a night. I'm feeling sleepy and you know old age is beginning to set in. I need my beauty sleep if I don't want to wrinkle in time"

The girls laughed " mom! "

" What?! Didn't i say the truth?. Oh you guys thought you're the only one that loves to keep fit? Then you must be joking then"

They laughed " no one said you shouldn't have a night rest."

" Then why are you girls looking at me as if I just said something I shouldn't be found saying ?"

" God mom! are we really going to talk about this right now?"

She stared at the girl " ok fine. I'm going to bed"

Sarah laughed at how the whole situation. First they were talking about her and now this. Life is just too short to worry, now she truly understood that saying.

" Night mom" Lucy said then pecked her mom on the cheeks.

Sarah also thought of doing that but was shy to do so. To her it'll look somehow.

Lucy's mom noticed so she pulled her in for a unexpected hug" Night Sarah"

" Night mom"

Lucy loves the view. She felt as if she now has a sister. Sarah have this Abby feel in her that Lucy now wonders where Abby could actually be.

She wonders if she was okay whereever she is right now ...
