At Jordan high school
As usual the class is as noisy as always. The girls were sat on their usually desk all engaged In a conversation among themselves. The guys also weren't left out in the gist, they were all as loud as whatever you could think of. All these isn't my scene, I hate it when the class is noisy. I'm someone you could refer to as rude, and arrogant.
I do keep to myself. It isn't like I don't have friends, I do have a friend actually. He is someone I trusted so much ,his name is Xavier. He is also like me, we just don't love mingling with the rest maybe that's why they usually call us the two rude students. Some girls even refer us as homosexual just because we don't welcome their advances. Well thats all you need to know for now.
I took my seat at the back as usual. I didn't miss the look the ladies shot at me and the battling of eyelashes . I don't know why they don't just get it that I'm not interested. I look away from them and my eye land on a girl who usually sit alone . She is always quiet ,she doesn't flinch when she is being bullied by the cheerleaders . I really commend her for that, she is brave.
" hey man" Xavier greeted as he reach our seat. He loves coming late to school and whenever I ask him it always turnout that he went on an errand for his mum. I decided not to ask again since then .
I nodded in reply
" I saw you staring at the mute girl again. " he said wiggling his brow in a teasing way. That's the name he love referring to the quiet girl at the front.
" stop it man, I don't like her if that's what you're trying to say"
" who said something about you liking her" he said trying to act innocent
" just forget it man"
He laughed at me " I know you, Ivan. If you like the girl, then go straight up to her and ask her out. It isn't a big deal"
" whatever " I muttered
" don't say I didn't tell you"
Our class teacher walk into the class and that's how the matter was forgotten.
I myself don't know whether I like the girl or it just a friction . Quite alright she is pretty but she is too quiet for her own good. I decided to stop my thoughts and listen attentively to our teacher.

Our first class ended and it now time for break.
" I need to meet someone, see you at our table" Xavier said as he left. The table he refer to was our usually table at the cafeteria. I pack my books into my bag and walk towards the door.
" ouch" a tiny voice winced. I was about to go out and this person I bumped into was about to come in.
" I'm so sorry" I quickly apologize to the girl who was still on the floor rubbing her head. She rose up and it turn out to be the quiet girl in class.
" I should have been careful before coming in, it's not your fault" said the quiet girl.
" what! No I'm the one who should be blame. " I quickly pack her books which were all spluttered on the floor when she fell down.
" I'm so sorry. " I said as I hand her the books
" I already told you that I'm the one at fault, you don't need to bother" said the girl with a smile. I also smile back at her, she looks so beautiful when she smile.
She was shy as I look at her. " so, what's the name? "
" I'm Linda "
" Ivan is the name" I said out stretching my hand for a shake
" I already know who you are" I look at her in surprise.
how did she know my name.
" how? "
" who didn't know the two rude guys " she said in a teasing way. We both laughed at that.
" oh that" I said scratching my head lightly
she nodded.
" nice meeting you linda" she smiled shyly " nice meeting you too"
That's how the both of them became friends and from that it turn to something more than that. Ivan asked Linda out to which she accept happily. Their love for each other grew day by day not until Ivan started to notice some changed behavior about Linda which he never knew of.
It came to a point when Linda started to party alot, smoke, drink and so many other things you could think of. It first started with the partying, Ivan decided to over look that. He thought she was only trying to mingle with their mate since she was know as the mute girl who doesn't like to talk. But it never stops at that, she became so wild that Ivan began to have a second thought about their relationship.
Ivan had had enough about all these wayward act of hers but still yet his love for her was still there, he cared so much for her which was why he decided to have a talk with her,not just normal talk like hello and hi that we all know but something that had to do with the heart. Heart to heart talk.
He set a date for their meeting and she came at the right time. She even came before Ivan.
" you came early" said Ivan as he sat close to her and peck her lips.
She nodded with a innocent smile. He wish she can stop all her wild way, he wish she can turn back to the innocent quiet girl she was the first time he knew her. Unknown to Ivan that all was just an act.
He started by querying her why she change all of a sudden and the only reply she could give him was that...
" I want to be social, I want to be popular in school"
" why do you need popular? I like you just the way you are" Ivan had said.
" you don't understand Ivan, I want to be superior, I wanna know how it feels to be that. " she dreamly muttered
He look at her in surprise " Linda, I really don't know what has come over you but please don't let all this silly fantasies of yours rule you. Don't be miss guarded by them. I love you Linda just the way you are"
She move forward to pull me in for a hug " I love you too, Ivan. I promise to change from now henceforth. "
Ivan felt so happy at what she said . They decision to enjoy the moment in each others arms.

Two months later
Linda changed has she has already promised Ivan, she was now the quiet girl he know her as or maybe not.
He plan for them to have a date as they have no time to do that all this while. He had prepared all that is needed for the date, what was remaining was for him to call Linda and pick her up for this surprise date he has planned for them. He gave her a call on this faithful night.
" hey ,love"
" erm Ivan? "
" yes love, are you surprised that I called or where you expecting someone elses call"
" what! No no, how can you say that. Of course I'm happy you called, I was only surprise, that's all. We met not two hour ago and now that you called I thought something was wrong" she had said and he noticed that she was acting suspicious but overlooked it nevertheless.
" oh OK. I was thinking about coming to pick you up"
" what? why? "
" don't I have the right to spend sometime with my girlfriend? "
" no no it isn't that. You just took me off-guard "
" OK then, so are you free right now? "
" erm erm, you see erm"
" why are you stuttering, Linda? or don't you want me to come? "
" no" she quickly answered " the thing is, I'm not feelings too well to go out,I'm sorry Ivan . Just leave it for next time"
Ivan felt bad for that but he was happy that she didn't disagree for some flimzy excuses although he had hope and wished she had said yes to him.
" OK, I guess next week then? "
" yeah sure, that's OK with me" she had said.
They ended their call. Ivan called the restaurant to cancel his reservation. He wasn't happy at the turn of events, he had plant the date to go smoothly, he wanted to show Linda how much she mean to him and how thankful he was to her for heeding to his advice of not becoming wild. He shrugged it off, "there is a next time", he had thought
Since his surprised date didn't go well, he decided to attend the party one of his school mate had organize. His friend Xavier should he there since he is a party guy, he had thought.
He was hit by the smell of sweat and alcohol as he entered the party house . Everyone was enjoying his or herself and he also surrendered to loosen up for once. He grab a bottle of alcohol drink and went to join some of his guys at school. They were playing ' Truth or dare ' , he did a bro hug with them and the game continued. He only watch them as they play as he was not a fan of the game.
" hey man, your babe is here" one of the guys said. He look at the guy like he was crazy. How can he say Linda was here when they had talk not long ago and she told him she was at home, Ivan thought
The guy noticed the look and said " you don't believe me? " Ivan snob him and continue enjoying his drink
" go up stairs and see for yourself " the guy had said again. This was when Ivan starts to have a second thought whether to believe him or not. He decided to end this internal battle he was having by going up stairs as the guy had said to feel in his now developing doubt.
Ivan was 100% sure that Linda would never lie to him. He trust her with everything in him. He jogged upstairs to confirm. He opened from door to doors, when he reached the last door he stood still coz that's when he heard two familiar voice which belong to Linda and his best friend Xavier.
" You're the best Xavier. You have all it takes to be a man ,that Ivan you called your friend isn't as good in bed as you are"
" I have told you to just end things with him and be with me instead "
" soon. We would be together soon. I'm only using him to be popular and when I get the satisfaction from it, I'm going to toast him aside and show everyone that it's you I want" Linda said and roughly kissed Xavier
" why do you pretend to be a good girl since the first time you came to this school" Xavier asked in wonder
" I was only trying to attract my target and he fell right for it. "
" you really are a bad girl. " Xavier teased
" and you're also a bad boy. My bad boy "
Ivan couldn't take the betrayal anymore he barge him on them
" you're dead you piss of shit" he move on a long stride and landed a punch at a startled Xavier. " you dimwit, I trusted you like a brother. I thought you can be trusted but I now know that you were a two faced ass hole" he yell in anger while landind Xavier several punch at the he face. He left an unconscious Xavier on the floor and turn to look at Linda in disgust
" I should have known all along"
" I should have know that you were a prostitute, you bitch. We are over" he was about to go out but Linda ran to hold shirt
" please Ivan I'm sorry. We were only joking. I love you Ivan, please forgive me"
" let me go" he pushed her away from him in anger and left the room with broken heart.
Since then he promised not to ever let a girl rule his heart ever again.
" That's how it all happened " Ivan said and turn to a sad Lucy.
" I'm sorry you had to go through all that betrayals from my cousin sister and your friend"
" it isn't your fault. If that didn't happen I wouldn't have met you"
" you're too cheesy for your own good" said Lucy with a beaming smile
" we better go inside and continue the party. Don't let this sad story of mine stop you from enjoying your first school party of all time" Ivan wiggled his brow
" yeah, right. Let go enjoy ourselves, the night is still young " she said in a singing voice and they went in to enjoy the rest of the night
