Lucy

I lazily came down from bed and walk to the bathroom to shower. It two days already since what happened. Linda and I avoid each other like a plague . whenever we make eye contact, we end up glaring at each other. I wish I can slap the shit out of her.

When mom came back that day, she knew something went wrong with the date. She asked me about it and I told her all that happened. She felt sad for me and told me not to worry coz she is going to have a talk with litnda. She wants to know the reason why Linda would do something like that. Since then, mom haven't told me anything about what she talked about with Linda. I also didn't want to ask, I want Ivan to tell me himself but not now.

Today is monday,school day. I later came out from shower , I wore something comfy before going downstairs to have breakfast. The sight I was met with was Linda talking and smiling to someone on the phone with a cup of coffee in hand. I guess mom is still sleeping, she isn't going to work. They were given a free day today.

I walk into the kitchen to serve myself . I ate in silence . Only God knows who Linda was talking to, I'm sure is one of her evil friends .

" Good morning ladies" mom greeted as she came down the stairs. I answered and Linda end the call to also answer

" how was your night? " mom asked with a smile that brightens the day.

" it was fine " we answered

Mom saw how tense the air was, she gave us a scrutinizing gaze and then walk to the kitchen to have a coffee.

I immediately drank up my tea and took my bag. " mum Abby is taking me to school, bye" I quickly gave her a kiss on her cheeks and was about to leave but mum called me back.

" Sit down " she said in a firm voice. I rolled my eye at a smirking Linda before sitting down.

" I'm tired of all these nonsense, you girls are behaving like enemies. For God's sake you are cousins and you linda" she turn to look at Linda " just because Ivan was your ex doesn't mean that he still love you. He is with Lucy now and please respect that. I'm sure my sister, your mother thought you how to be a respectable lady. Don't go around chasing other people's boyfriend " mum lectured, Linda was about to talk but mum beat her to it

So Linda was Ivan's ex?

" I don't want to hear anything from you. Just because I didn't say anything doesn't mean that what you did was right. You acted selfishly, you were only thinking about yourself. " mum sigh " I'm sure you wouldn't want your mum to know about all these? If you know what's good for you, leave Ivan alone. The poor guy has been feeling disturb all these time and you lucy" mum turn to me

" why haven't you been picking his calls? The boy has been calling my phone begging me to please talk to you,please pick up your phone when he calls. At least listen to him. "

" just forgive the young man already " mum said " I can't " I silently mumbled

" what did you say? " mum asked

" nothing " I quickly reply.

She sigh and gave Linda and I a stern look " you two should better set your differences . I'm taking you two to school from now henceforth, whether you like it or not" I knew she was talking to me in particular, I coherently mumbled out in anger.

Mum went upstairs to get her keys. I turn to look at Linda " you can smirk all you want but let me make this clear to you, Ivan love me not you. Only God knows what happened in your previous relationship and I'm going to find out. If it something worth spreading, " I tutted " I will tell the whole school your hideous secret " she look mad at me already.

" you think you can threaten me? I will make sure to end you before you do that. " she threatened back. I'm not afraid of her, if she think she is smart then I'm more smarter. I'll make sure she goes down.

I gave her a mockery smile " don't forget that I'm more likeable, even your birth mother likes me more than she likes you" I didn't intend to sound harsh but I wanted to see a hurt reaction from her, especially how she made me feel when I saw her kissing Ivan. She really look hurt with what I said now. I was harsh, I know.

She was seething " you bitch" she attacked me by dragging my hair " I hate you. I regret the day I met you" she kept saying in rage as she pull on my hair, I was also struggling to pull her's but she over powered me because of the strength she is using to pull my hair since it's long.

" what's going on here? " mum shouted but Linda refused to stop

" Linda stop" mum shouted at her and she immediately let me go.

" I only left to get my car keys only to come back to see you too fighting like cat and dog. What is wrong with you two. I'm tired of all these nonsense. Linda I think it's best you go back to your mother"

I felt like jumping in joy when mom mentioned taking Linda back to her mother. She knew how Linda's mom was a no nonsense woman.

" please aunty, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I swear I'll behave " Linda begged my mom . I always wonder why she is always scared of her mother.

Mum turn to glare at me" and you, you're grounded for one week and your phone is also seize. Give it to me right now "

" but mom" I drawled out " don't taste my patience Lucy, give it to me" she stretched out her hand to me.

I brought out my phone and place it on her out stretched hand. " good, you too" she said to Linda, she also gave mom her phone.

" Now let's get moving if not you're going to be late for school" we trail behind mom and walkout of the house.

AT SCHOOL

Mom drop us and left immediately. I glared at Linda and she was already doing same to me. I left her standing there. If she like she should know her way to her class, I don't give a damn. I'm not helping her to find her way around classes

I walk to my class in full speed coz classes was about to start.

" lucy" Ivan shouted my name. I turn to look at him " what do you want? "

He look so disheveled, my poor baby. " please Lucy listen to me" so he now call me Lucy?

" Lucy? " I asked, he noticed what he said and was about to correct himself but I raise my hand to shut him up

" so we are now on name basis, I thought I was your sweetheart. I can see that you really enjoyed your kiss with Linda your ex that is why you've forgotten your endearment for me" I don't like the hurt look I was seeing on him, I wish I can take it away. I only want him to see and know my worth, which is why I'm prolonging to take him back.

" please love, I'm sorry. I-i didn't cheat on you, she came at me I promise " I know, I wanted saying.

" That is what you guys love saying. When you cheat on a girl you always love looking for something else to say" I was to harsh, I know

He look tired and broken already. I wish I can wrap my arm around him.

" look Ivan, it time for class. Let's leave this conversation till after class" he wanted objecting but nevertheless agreed with me. He sadly nod his head at me and I entered the class, he followed behind.

As if on cue, our math teacher entered the class . We were in the middle of having lecture when a knock interrupted.

Oh heavens! ,it our charming Linda, note the sarcasm.

She entered with a bright smile and announce herself as the new student. Our math teacher nodded at her to come in. The whole class turn to look at me and then back at Linda.

Surprise!

They were all surprised at how Linda and I look alike. I know right

" Mr David, please adjust for miss " out teacher turn to Linda in question for her name " linda" she said like a good person.

Why does she have to sit with ivan. Why not the lonely guy with running nose.

Linda turn to smirk at me and walk to sit with ivan.

I turn to look at them and Ivan was already looking at me, I was seething on my seat. I wish I can wipe off that smirk off Linda's face with a slap. She is enjoying this.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turn to look at Abby " she is trying to rile you up so don't fall for her. Don't mind her" I nodded at her and turn to listen to the teacher as he continues the class.

BREAK TIME

" why is she looking at you like that? " Laila asked. I gave her a questioning look asking who. She pointed at the direction and behold it was linda. She was showing off that she's sitting with the popular students . She was sitting with Natalia and her crew, she has no shame. Anyway they are both birds of the same feathers, they both love to steal people's boyfriend.

" that's her cousin Linda, her worse nemesis " Abby answered Laila. Laila came late to school today, so she doesn't know about Linda.

" No wonder, you two look alike. You both have the same facial features " Laila pointed out and Abby also agreed with her.

We continue having our lunch. We talk about knew things and the up coming party one of the student is going to host. It's going to be my first time going to a party.
