LUCY

" I think you should call your mom? What could be keeping the driver late" Abby said thoughtfully

" ok" I brought out my phone to give mom a call

Peep peep peep

We heard a car honk and I ended the call.

" I think the driver is here" said abby

She went to peep through the window and she let out a quiet squeal.

" what is it?"

She wave me over and I didn't waste any time to join her by the curtain. I couldn't believe my eyes.

It freaking Ivan. He is here in his fancy car looking as handsome as always.

What is he doing in my house?

He locked the car door and made his way to my door step.

" what the hell is going on? " I muttered in shock

" what is he doing here" Abby wondered.

We waited for him to knock . I straighten my dress and went back to sit on the chair base on Abby's order. She said she will be the one to open the door.

He finally knock and Abby waited for a seconds before opening the door like she didn't know who was knocking.

That girl can act.

" hey" said Ivan

" Ivan?  What are you doing here?" Abby asked going direct to the point. I couldn't see them since they were outside and I was inside but I can hear there conversation.

" I was told to come pick you up if I'm not mistaken. Are you Mrs Anna's daughter? " he asked

What! ? How did he know my mom?

" oh, actually I'm not her daughter "

" then who is " he asked unsure

" it's lucy" said Abby not wasting anytime.

" what?! "

" yes you heard me right. Come in" she said as she open the door. I quickly went to hide upstairs .

They both work in coz I heard their foot steps. " let me get her for you"

Ivan sat down, I think and Abby climb up the stairs. Immediately she reach where I was hiding I quickly grabbed her by her arm.

" how am I going with that thing" I exaggerated

" calm down. Just act normal, don't over work yourself. Rule one, act as if you're surprise of seeing him here and rule two, show him that you aren't affected by his presence " said Abby with a smile

" OK, ok" I said uneasily

" just breath in and out " she lectures. I did as I was told and together we stroll down the stairs.

He was sitter comfortably on the couch. But when he heard sound of our foot steps, he turn to our direction and like magic I freeze on my spot . we held each others gaze.

His eyes graze me over and over and over in appreciation. He opened and closed his mouth like he wanted saying something. He just couldn't believe that I'm the one.

" you look...." he didn't  finish his sentence coz he came out of his trance and cleared his throat.

" she look? " Abby cock her head one side as she asked him with a teasing smile.

He cleared his throat again and said " I wanted saying she look like a masquerade with the heavy makeup"

My mood immediately dies down at what he said. How dare him

Abby also look shocked at what he said ,she turn to me and mouthed " he is lying, trust me "

Still, my spirit was down. Hasn't he no human feeling, doesn't he know that his words hurt like a gun shot.

He smirked at me and said " meet me outside when you're  done" he left after that.

" I swear, I'll kill him" I gritted out

"please don't . He is only deceiving himself, you and I both saw his reaction and he looks at you like he wants to lavish you. So don't believe anything he says about you looking like a masquerade " said Abby with a smile. I went forward to hug her.

" thank you, what would I do without you" I hugged her From side to side.

" hey, stop getting cheesy. Lift up your spirit and shine at the party, don't listen to anything he might say to you again. Do you understand?"

" yes"

" just shut up and drive. I'm sick and tired of you insulting my way of dressing . What have I done to you, ivan?" I exclaimed

He look at me in surprise and at the same time was driving the car. Since I entered the car he just won't shut up from passing silly comments at me like, you look hideous in that dress or your face is too scary and so on.

I have reached my limit which was why I snapped. I just can't take it anymore. No lady would want to be insulted like that but deep in my heart I knew he was lying, he is just looking for the best opportunity to hurt me. Right now, he needs to tell me what I did to him.

" are you deaf of what? Cat got your tongue? " I asked with raised brows.

The car made a screeching sound indicating that Ivan made a stop on the road. Thank God there wasn't any passing car, we would have gotten hit.

" are you trying to kill us both" I yelled as I calm my beating heart..

" yes, that's what I'm trying to do" he sarcastically let out.

He loosen his seat belt and got out of the car. Where is he going, I thought

I also got down to feel in my thoughts. And behold Ivan was checking the tyres . I just pray it isn't what I'm thinking

I walk to his side " what happened to the tyres? "

" we've got a flat tyre"

" you've got to be kidding me. How did it happen? I mean, didn't you check the tyres before you ride the car? " I yelled ,already scared of the empty road and every where is getting dark already.

He gave me a teasing look " or you're trying to say you're just scared of the empty road. I knew you were a weakling "

" don't call me that" I folded my hand

" yes that's what you are"He stood up and move close to me .

" just shut up . Now what are we going to do? How are we going to the party?"

" I'm on it already " he said as he continue to type on his phone

" what do you mean by you're on it"

" I just texted mom about our situation and she said she'll send the driver. So, we wait for the driver " after saying this, he went to sit on the car.

I stood not knowing where to sit and I'm not sitting close to him,never. My legs are already killing me

Ivan noticed my state and said " you better not punish youself standing. Come sit on the car, I won't bite. "

I sigh and decided to just sit beside him on the car.

We were quiet for few seconds not until Ivan broke the silence

" why are you lying " he said all of a sudden

What does he mean by that? . I looked at him quizzically

" what are you insinuating? "

" what happened at my house , I know what you said was a lie" he said

So now he was talking about the dream

" I don't have time to argue with you right now. I have told you I don't have dreams about you so please let me be"

" you aren't looking into my eyes as you said it. If you know that I'm the one lying, then look me in the eyes and repeat what you just said" he boldly said with a accusing tone.

" I'm doing no such thing "

" then you're a liar "

" I'm not a liar "

" you are"

" I'm not "

" yes, you are"

" I'm not"

" then say it while looking into my eyes"

" fine" I pout

" your time starts now "

I boldly face him and met his eyes " I...dont....

Peeeeep peeeep peeeep

We got interrupted by a loud honk

I didn't know when I shouted bloody murder coz of how scared I was. Before I know it, I was about to fall on the ground but I didn't feel myself on the ground coz of the warm arms wrapped around me.

Ivan saved me from falling

" who would have thought that a dolly face like yours is actually scared of a mere car honk " he tutted " such a shame. Anyway that was the driver mom sent to us"

I finally stood straight and pushed his laughing self away from me.

" you're unbelievable "

" what is unbelievable about me? Oh! let me guess ,my looks" he cockily let out

I frustratedly sigh and move to the waiting driver who unfortunately saved me from lying for the second time. He opened the car door for me. Ivan too came in few seconds later.

And that was how we continue our journey to the party.,

what about Ivan's car which we left behind, I thought

" I can see you're in your deep thoughts again, so what are you thinking about" I wonder how this guy knows me so well

I decided to just tell him" how are you going to pick up your car"

" the mechanic is on his way to the place. after he is done fixing it, he will bring it home for me" he explained while I nodded in understanding.

We finally got to the venue. This is paradise, I awed. The way the venue was so big is just unbelievable  and I haven't even entered inside yet. I'm sure I'm gonna faint when I enter, just kidding

" if you're done drooling, you can follow me inside " came ivan's annoying voice.
