Chapter 56: Chapter 56

As they drove back towards the mansion, Kingsley's mind raced with thoughts of what was going to happen when they got there. He knew that Greg was ruthless, and he had no doubt that he would hurt Madison to get what he wanted.

When they arrived, Greg was waiting for them in the main hall. His expression was cold and calculating, and Kingsley felt a shiver run down his spine.

Madison had woken up few minutes ago in the car but was held tightly by Kevin. Her jaw clenched tightly at the sight of Greg.

“You bastard,” she said, gritting her teeth

“I see being with Zach has given you some guts to insult me.” He said to her, his eyes cold.

“I wasn’t insulting you but describing you.” She replied and tried to pull her hands off Kevin’s grip but all her efforts were useless.

"Good work, Kingsley," Greg said, his voice dripping with condescension. "You've done well."

Kingsley felt a flush of anger, but he kept his mouth shut. He had to play along if he wanted to keep both himself and Madison alive.

Greg turned to Madison, a sneer on his face. "You're a brave little girl, aren't you?" he said. "Standing up to Kingsley like that. But I'm afraid your bravery won't save you now."

Madison stood her ground, her eyes blazing with defiance. "What do you want?" she asked. "Why did you bring me here?"

Greg's expression turned sinister. "I want your boyfriend," he said. "And I know that if I have you, he'll come for you. And when he does, I'll be waiting."

Madison's face paled. "I won't let you hurt him," she said. "I'll never let you hurt him."

“What do you think you can do? You are just a little nerdy doctor.” He laughs at her. She angrily pulled her hands away from Kevin's and pushed him backwards after she pulled the gun in his pocket away as she points it at Greg.

“Whoa whoa whoa. What are you doing with that? Put the gun down now.” Greg said to her

“Madison, put it down.” Kingsley added

“She can’t even shoot a gun,” Kevin said and she pointed it at Greg’s flower vase on his table and pulled the trigger.

They were all surprised, she held the gun firm in her hands with a warning glare, “Don’t test me. My father used to be in the military” she said and Greg stood up from his seat, slowly clapping his hands.

Zach sat in his office, scrolling through his emails on his laptop when his phone rang. It was Adrian, his right hand man.

"Zach, we have a problem. Madison has been kidnapped," Adrian said, a sense of urgency in his voice.

“I think she also drugged herself.” He added

Zach's heart sunk. Madison was his everything. He couldn't imagine a life without her. Maybe he made a great mistake by letting her go, instead of keeping her.

"Who took her?" Zach asked, trying to control his breathing.

"It's Greg and his men. They have her held captive in an abandoned warehouse in the outskirts of town," Adrian replied.

"I'm on my way. Get the others and meet me there," Zach ordered, grabbing his gun and heading out the door.

He called Liam and Zane, his brothers, and instructed them to meet him at the warehouse. As they raced towards the destination, Zach could feel his heart pounding in his chest.

When they arrived, they found the door to the warehouse unlocked. They cautiously made their way in, guns drawn, ready for an ambush.

Greg was surprised at Madison’s action and chuckled. "You're a sweet kid," he said. "But you don't know anything about the world you're living in. You're just a pawn in this game. And when it's over, you'll be discarded like the trash that you are."

Kingsley felt his anger boil over. He couldn't let Greg hurt her like this. He lunged towards Greg, his fist connecting with the boss's jaw. Greg stumbled backwards, clearly taken off guard.

“Kingsley??” Kevin exclaimed

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Greg roared, anger flashing in his eyes.

But Kingsley didn't care. He couldn't stand to see Madison being threatened like this. "I won't let you hurt her," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

Greg's expression turned from anger to amusement. "You have spirit, Kingsley," he said. "I like that. But you need to learn your place."

Before Kingsley could react, one of Greg's men tackled him to the ground. Kingsley fought back, punching and kicking with all his might. But it was no use. The man was stronger than he was, and he soon had Kingsley pinned to the ground.

Greg approached them, a sinister expression on his face. "You've made a mistake, Kingsley," he said. "And now you'll pay for it."

Kingsley knew what was coming next. He had seen it happen to others, and he knew that it was the worst possible fate. He pleaded for mercy, but all he got was a brutal beating from Greg's men.

“Stop it!!” Madison cried out and she was held from behind by two hefty men.

“What is it princess? You saw what he did and that is not tolerated.” He said to her. The gun was taken away from her hands and she glared bitterly at Greg.

“Consider yourself a dead cow!” she spat at Greg's face. He scoffed and shrugged, “Let’s see who will be the dead meat. Take her away and tie her down.” He ordered

Kingsley was finally left alone, bruised and battered; he knew that he had no choice but to do what Greg wanted.

“You know this is not our deal Greg?” he said to him

“If I can’t have the doctor, no one else will. Not even you as her cousin.” He said to Kingsley and immediately, before the sight of Madison, Kingsley was knocked down and he fell unconscious.

Greg wore this evil smile on his face as he took his seat. “Now, we wait for Zach.”
