Chapter 60: Chapter 60

- Cyrus' POV -

I wonder what I am doing again, I just found myself, once again heading to the South. I just couldn't handle wondering about the situation of the Southern Border without doing anything at my Pack that my own body pushed me to go here.

My pack is not in a werewolf border which is safer than any other packs. In the middle of the werewolf land is Daxton's Territory, where the central authority is coming from.

Since early this morning, all the Alphas and werewolf leaders gathered for a meeting and the topic is about a vampire who gets inside the Werewolf land. One of the Citizens of the Werewolf Land was found dead and unfortunately near the border of Polaris, just in between the Heartily Pack and Polaris. According to an autopsy, the body was bitten by a vampire until it died. Which only meant that an enemy had entered the land without us noticing and this shouldn't come out to the citizens or the people would panic.

This is already chaos, that vampire is still lurking around the werewolf land and we do not know if it was alone or in a group. We also do not know how they get inside the land without noticing, there is really behind it... someone is behind it.

Who? Well I don't know and that is what Daxton should find out. There is a rat inside the Werewolf Land and we do not even know yet who it is, which is very dangerous for all the werewolves.

That is why, I couldn't just sit down and sleep peacefully because the Slytherin Pack is weak in people and that fucking nerd is in danger. Damn, why should I concern myself with that nerd?

I even told her this afternoon that she shouldn't attend the Gala Night. But why did I even tell her? She didn't even fucking listen to me. Dammit!

She's getting on my nerves.

That fucking Gala Night is a threat, with the chaos situation on the land, the enemies might take that event as a chance because that is the time where Werewolves and other creatures gather at one place.

I punched the speeding wheel out of frustration, this situation is fucking getting worse. Daxton should work fast, but he's damn too smitten with that girl. Shit, I knew he's not that stupid, he must have surely planned something.

I reached the Southern Border and was surprised to see that it was so peaceful, no fighting, battles or war... just a peaceful night where the guards and patrollers are standing on their position on guard.

Suddenly, someone came to me and bowed his head. It was Felix, the head guard I assigned to help protect the Southern Border. "Alpha, you're here. How can I help you?"

"How's the situation here?" I coldly asked.

"Surprisingly Alpha, this night seems peaceful but I had a bad feeling over this. It's kind of... strange." He said as he seemed to be thinking deeply.

"Why do you say so?" I asked.

"Every night, at this time of hour... they attacked this area, however, tonight they did not. It is strange because a saying says, once an enemy turns silent... it's where they prepared for the greatest battle." He stated as if he was concluding for any possibilities that would happen due to this silent event.

I nodded my head, "You should prepare then. Now, go back to your position and stay alive until this is over." I said and he bowed his head as he proceeded to his position.

I just stood in my place and looked around the plain forested area. This night is truly silent... so peaceful that it is getting scarier than the previous nights.

Suddenly, I saw one of the Patrollers from Slytherin Pack, he was guarding near where I was standing.

"You." I called.

He pointed to himself, clarifying if I was calling him and I nodded. He walked closer to me and bowed his head to pay respect. "Alpha Cyrus, how may I help you?"

"I have some questions to ask." I said.

"Anything Alpha as long as it reaches my knowledge." He stated.

"Have you ever seen a girl with a mask in this area?" I asked which made his forehead creased.

He must have no idea from what I was talking about, damn, this is fucking useless. "Don't mind-"

"The mysterious lady, have you seen her too Alpha?" He asked full of curiosity but his eyes held something... excitement.

When I heard him say those words, as if a life was enlightened inside of me, I couldn't help but ask, "Mysterious Lady?"

He nodded, "We have seen her many times, especially during night time, sometimes she could be seen in daylight, but that rarely happens only when there's a worse situation. We thought at first that she's an enemy because her strength is not from this pack, she's undeniably fast and strong, however, she never fails to save the people and especially the pack, that is why we considered her not a threat."

"When did she start showing up?" I suddenly got so curious that I wanted to ask so many questions.

So this pack has a hero and surprisingly it was a girl. Why choose this pack to protect then? Is she really not from this pack?

"Approximately, 2 years ago Alpha, however, we do not rely on her because not all the time that she shows up. Although her strength is a big help if there is a war or battles within this pack, especially, enemies from the other packs." He answered with admiration on his face.

2 years? Why didn't I know about this? Oh well, I really never cared too much about the other packs unless it is mine.

I nodded, "Have you even recognized her?"

He shook his head, "No Alpha. She always wears these black suits and a mask that makes it difficult to recognize her face."

"I see, thank you. You may now go back to your position." He nodded and bowed his head before he walked back to his guard.

Why would she hide her face then?

I turned around and walked back to my car, heading to the Leidea Mansion.
