Chapter 31: Chapter 31
"Class dismissed." The professor stated.
The class had ended and it felt like the time moves fast while I was so busy staring at Daxton Astrid. I couldn't believe myself either that I was so lost at him.
The 3K's stood up and left the room while my eyes didn't leave him until they were gone. I did not realize that I was suppressing my breath, just when they were out of my sight. After that, the room began to fill with noises because the students here in the room have for sure felt the tension that the 3K's has given.
I took a deep breath after that, feeling a little at ease now than earlier.
Not long after the 3K's were gone, Gabriella elbowed me.
"Care to repeat again your viewpoint about the 3K's?" Gabriela said, mocking me as she laughed.
She, then, also tapped Anne's back.
"Going crazy about those guys?" Gabriella asked, now mocking the two of us.
I shook my head, "O-Of course not! I would never worship someone!" I exclaimed, sounding more defensive than I actually do.
"You looked really smitten by their leader, Maive. I can't blame you, though. That's how it goes for every girl here." Gabriella said as she looked in space, probably thinking about them because the smile she was wearing was full of admiration.
"I totally agree." Anne, still looking not herself, also added.
"They looked dangerous," I stated, remembering the feeling I felt when my eyes landed on their leader's deep black eyes... His cold aura was very intimidating. Just the thought of it makes me feel agitated.
"They are the kings of this university, after all." Anne agreed.
That was my last class for today. I cannot believe that my day would end full of different thoughts and feelings all at once. My heart is at a normal pace now. However, the thoughts of that Astrid could easily make it beat faster again.
I was fixing my things before we left the room when the envelope containing my father's pictures slipped out of my hand. Its contents were scattered on the floor which I picked one by one.
My brows crossed when my eyes landed on the paper that I had skipped earlier. I immediately picked it up and read its content. It was a university document containing my father's basic information. I was not able to see this earlier; his works together with pictures were the only ones that I saw.
It was basically a paper containing his information. My eyes landed on the name of my father's parents... my grandparents. I bit my lip.
Anastacia Underwood & Ridor Underwood
Even my grandparent's name feels so foreign. My father never mentioned anything about them. That makes me wonder if they are still alive...
"What's the matter?" Anne asked worriedly.
I stood up. "Do you really not know where the Underwood family resides?" I asked, with the hope that somewhere here, my father's family is living.
Anne and Gabriella both shook their heads. Curiosity is evident in their eyes. "I thought you live far from here?" Gabriella asked.
I shook my head. "Yeah, but I just recently found out that my father might be around here," I answered.
When I said those words, they all looked confused.
I hurriedly placed my things inside my bag and bid my goodbye, "See you tomorrow!"
They still hadn't replied when I ran hurriedly out of the room. There is a little hope within me that says that I should find my father's family.
I ran towards the administrator's office in order for me to ask about it. She might have knowledge about my father's home or something that would bring me closer to his family... to my family.
"Ouch!"
I was about to enter the room when I bumped into something hard and because of that, I fell out of balance, making me fall on my butt. Was that a wall?
When I looked up, I found Daxton Astrid standing in front of me with his hands in his pocket as he showed no emotions.
My heart began to pound crazily again. I bit my lip. Damn, I bumped into him of all people in this University, I bumped into the owner. He was leaving the office and I was entering, making us collide with each other. Unlike me who has fallen on my butt, he looked fine and still in posture.
When I looked straight into his eyes, our eyes met and at that moment, I felt the pain in my neck once again as if it was burning. I couldn't help but bite my lip and immediately hold my neck using my right hand.
He must have seen my reaction that his eyes changed for a second, was it curiosity? Damn, I really couldn't read him, I couldn't decipher him as his face turned emotionless and the pain in my neck disappeared.
Fuck, his deep black eyes is turning my body into foreign feelings once again. I immediately looked away from those eyes after some seconds because it felt like it was a sin to do so. He is just too high to reach.
Suddenly, I realized that I was sitting on the ground and so I immediately stood up. "I-I apologize," I stated, stuttering out of nervousness. Damn it, why do I feel at a loss when he is around?
I have to apologize because his presence seems like saying that I need to apologize. His stance screams dominance and authority which I cannot disobey.
"Watch your way, Underwood." His voice was undeniably cold and it almost made me shiver out of fear. It was manly but cold at the same time.
I was too shocked to hear my name from him, which made my eyes look back at him. He was still staring at me coldly and I felt like I'm going to fall on my knees as they were weakened by his presence.
"H-How do you know... my name?" I tried my best to ask, but still, I stuttered and trembled.
Fuck, I shouldn't be this weak in front of a man. Damn it, how could he be so handsome and still shine in the afternoon. He is like a diamond that is very rare to find and very expensive to hold.
Hold... I... I wanted to hold him, I wanted to touch him, I could do anything just to touch him. I shook my thoughts away after realizing it, what was happening to me!? Agh! Maiveline, stop it! This is absolutely not me!
My heart was beating crazier than earlier and my body feels so weak right at this moment. I couldn't understand why my body is reacting this way... but I know for sure that this is not good. This is really not good.
I stared at him, waiting for his answer to my question. How was he able to know my name? He remained cold, looking at the paper that I was holding. It was the same paper containing my father's information.
Fuck. He knew my name because of the paper I was holding. I was stupid to get easily excited knowing that he knew me... but it was just because of the paper.
He did not answer. His cold stare remains. He, then, started to walk away from me.
Before getting far from me, I turned around to face his silhouette and mustered my courage to ask him a question that was bothering me even earlier, "H-Have we met before?"
He continued walking even after that which made me think that he was not able to hear my questions.
However, with his back facing me, he stated, "You would have never forgotten me, if we had already met."
His coldness made me shiver.
