Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Astrid University. A prestigious school which I only heard about from my classmates and Tobias. Almost every classmate of mine in high school dreamed of studying at this university. I was different from them... I knew from the start that we couldn't afford a prestigious university like this. I am glad that they have given me a scholarship.

That was a bit confusing because receiving a scholarship in this prestigious school is very rare and only given to special and genius students. But I... I'm just an average girl, I could say that I am not stupid but also not genius. I even knew no one here except Tobias, and if I look at it, Tobias is not that influential to help me with my scholarship. Did my exam last time really go well?

I sighed.

After a week of being in the dormitory, I still haven't adjusted to everything here in the Astrid. I don't know if I am just known in this place because people in this place tend to stare at me as if I have something that took their interest or whether there is something with the ambiance. I have to also add up the remark made by Tobias when he hugged me.

I was taken aback when he did that knowing that he was never a touchy kind of man. He seemed to be against me studying at this university. I wonder why...

Today is my first day to attend class and I'm a bit nervous. The dormitory, although present inside the university, is somehow far from the buildings where classrooms are situated. For that reason, I still needed to walk far. I am used to it, though, especially since the school that I attended previously is kind of far from our home and in order to save money, I used to walk early.

I looked at my registration card containing all my schedule and the building where each subject will be taught. Valerian Building... I read the building that my first subject will be taught and even the name of the building seemed to be prestigious. I looked around at the university but I was just surprised that it was incredibly large. It is probably the whole town or the entire village of ours.

Damn, how could I find my building in this large place?

Suddenly, I remembered that in front of the university, there was a directory map showing where to find the buildings inside. And so I went to look at it and immediately searched the Valerian Building and I sighed in relief to see that it was found in the west.

I continued walking after that. Looking at the students walking around, they seemed to have expensive clothes and gadgets. I looked at myself through the mirror glass of one of the buildings I passed by, I was wearing a pair of jeans and a shirt, my hair was wavy that cascaded to my back up to my waist. My eyes were hazel, my brows were simply lined and my lips were pinkish. I must have probably adored my looks but my style of clothes, I preferred simple. The world of these students is really different from mine and that kind of scares me.

I proceeded to walk towards the building where my first class will be held. Because of the large place with numerous buildings, I found myself being lost on my first day.

Damn. I should have asked Tobias for a tour for this purpose. I was thinking about that ever since the day I came to this place but I don't want Tobias getting sentimental again as he did last week. He's like Aunt Vera and Uncle Silas when getting sentimental and overprotective.

I looked around to see a girl close to mine and so I walked closer to her, "Could I ask for some directions? I'm heading to the Valerian Building," I asked.

I bit my lip when she just looked at me from head to toe and then immediately left without saying a thing.

"You need help?" A voice from behind stated.

I immediately looked behind and smiled, "Yes, please!"

The man with a piercing in his lip smiled. He's as tall as Tobias with fair skin, somehow I felt something odd.

"Valerian building, right?" He asked as he looked through me.

I nodded... feeling a little uneasy with the way he looked at me. Damn, am I doing the right thing?

"Follow me." He simply said as he passed by me. Nonetheless, the guy headed to walk and I followed him... desperately wanting to get to the building because I might get late on my first day.

After minutes of walking behind him, I had a bad feeling given that he seemed to be walking toward a secluded area. Or is it the easiest way to get through the building?

"Are you...s-sure that we are heading to Valerian?" I asked when I realized that there were no other people walking with us nor walking around.

He did not answer as he remained walking. I stopped following him and was about to turn around and go back to the place where I started earlier when I felt someone's hand gripping my arm.

To my surprise, there were about five men surrounding me together with the man who had walked me through here. They were smirking at me while maliciously looking at me.

"Excuse me," I said as I tried to get past one of them.

However, with only having a step, one of them pulled me once again which made me taken aback.

"You're a bit late to get away from us, miss." One of them stated. I am sure that they are students here.

"You brought a good lady here, Jake." Stated by another man as he smirked at me. He had this blonde ash hair and a piercing on his lower lip. He looked at me from head to toe as he bit his lip, my heart was beating fast as I could see lust on their eyes.

"Yeah, a great first day indeed."

"Undressed her," ordered by someone whom I don't know, which scares the hell out of me.
