Chapter 18: Chapter 18

Tobias met me in a terminal at our town with a smile that could flutter any girl's heart. I heard that he was chased by girls, I never doubted that, Tobias is handsome and that's obvious. He is also very manly and could catch anyone's attention.

He was not able to go home that summer which is why he decided to just fetch me. I refused him but he was really stubborn so I had no other choice.

Throughout the whole trip, I only fell asleep on the bus probably because of the exhaustion from not sleeping all night. When I woke up, we were already near the university and I was leaning on Tobias' shoulder. I blushed when I realized it and looked down, unable to look at his eyes.

"Hungry?" He asked which made me bite my lip in embarrassment.

I nodded, pouting and he just chuckled as he ruffled my hair.

After some minutes, we stepped out of the bus and headed to the dormitory where I will be staying. Tobias carried my bag containing most of my clothes and other necessities. The dormitory was found inside the university and it is exclusive for the students who have been granted a scholarship.

Tobias is also staying in a dormitory. However, their building is different from mine since the dormitory for girls and boys were made separately.

The school year will start in a week. I still have to learn so many things especially since I am new here.

When I looked around my room, I found it pretty good. The room is big in my opinion of course since I have been living in a small house, for me this room seems so big. All the necessities were provided, there is a refrigerator, a comfort room and a kitchen sink, all in just one room. There is also a window where I could see the surroundings outside. The bright place and the swaying leaves through the wind. I could say that I would be comfortable staying here, however, a part of me is nervous of what I would face in the Astrid University.

"The things were all set, let's go have lunch?" Tobias asked as he showed up behind me.

I turned around to face him and nodded.

After leaving my things at the dormitory, together with Tobias, we went to a restaurant for lunch. I could see some youth at our age, probably students of Astrid University. Some were eyeing us while the others didn't care.

When we reached the restaurant, I was at awe with the designs and modernized exterior. This restaurant is part of the Astrid University which I concluded that the owner of Astrid University is damn rich.

We sat on one of the tables, right at the side where we could see the outside through the transparent window glass.

"What would you like?" Tobias asked, which caught my attention and made me look at him.

I smiled, "Anything, you order it."

Tobias nodded and looked at the Menu once again.

I let him order for me since I don't know much about the food that they offer. After a moment, Tobias called a waiter and told him some foods I am not familiar with and in just a few minutes, the food was served already. I immediately ate because of the hunger from traveling far.

I could feel Tobias gaze at me while I was eating. It was only after I finished eating that I said, "What, Tobias?"

He shook his head but when I looked at his plate, the food was almost not eaten.

"Nothing," After he said the word, he continued eating. And with just a few bites, he already invited me to leave. I snorted at him for not finishing his food.

I wonder why Tobias changed his mood for just a sudden, as if he knew or saw something which made him bothered and moody.

I sighed, Tobias now is really different from Tobias before but he is still my friend, he just got more manly.

I actually don't know where we are going after, I just followed him.

"You sure you wanted to be here?" Tobias asked and I could feel that he was serious.

There is also a hint of fear and nervousness in his voice which is not the usual him.

I smiled and wrapped my hands around his arm, "I don't know other universities... and it's nice to be here because you're here."

Suddenly, I felt someone's eyes on me which made me confused and so I roamed my eyes around, but there was no one watching me or our direction, however, I could see some students walking here and there.

I shook my head, feeling that there's something wrong but I kept setting it aside. It was probably just because I am new here. Maybe.

Tobias stopped and faced me, "You'll be hurt here," He said and I could see the worry in his eyes.

I pouted. "Don't you believe in my strength?" I asked jokingly which made Tobias sigh.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he continued walking again. His actions are disturbing me as if he knew something I didn't.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

Was it bad to be here in this school? This school seemed to be more safe since the security is high and the school is better than any other University I heard of.

Tobias shook his head as a response but didn't say a word so I just let him be but still followed his lead.

While we were walking in the hallway towards my dormitory, I stopped when I saw a werewolf in the open field through my peripheral vision. My heart rumbled insanely but when I looked again, there was no one there. I probably mistake it for something.

Damn, why am I feeling this? Something is really off.

The sight earlier made me want to ask Tobias but I had never asked him this before.

"Do you believe in werewolves?" I asked out of nowhere.

That made him stop walking. He looked at me seriously then smiled.

He, then, messed up my hair. "You are still clueless with everything, Maive."

I pouted at him... not understanding what he meant by his words. His answer was probably yes.

I did not speak again after that.

When we reached the dormitory, Tobias immediately hugged me.

"You, being here... scares me. Shall we go back to our village?"
