Chapter 16: Chapter 16

As time goes by, my curiosity about werewolves has arisen after my encounter with the two werewolves in the forest. A part of me wanted to know about them, to find them. I just wonder if my mother is in the tribe of wolves or was she a normal person like me. I wonder... I wonder if I am truly a normal person.

There were too many questions in my head that remained unanswered. I can't do anything but let it remain unanswered. I hope one day, I can find the truth.

"You are spacing out once again," Tobias interrupted my thoughts which made me out of daze.

Suddenly, realization hit me that my eyes lit up, "Tobias!" I jumped out of joy seeing him.

Oh how I missed this man.

Last year, he graduated from high school and entered an academy for college. He was living in a dormitory there and he's only coming here in our village during vacation. I did not even realize that time flew too fast.

His figures were more masculine than before, his hair was 3 inches messy but it suits him, his pointed nose, blue eyes and tanned skin perfectly defines him as a handsome man. Now, I could say that he is a man and not the boy that I first met.

"Missed me?" He asked, teasing me a bit.

"Well, I don't have friends so... probably?" I answered, retaliating him.

He chuckled. "You've grown taller than the last time I saw you."

Smiling, "We have grown a lot older, are we?" I answered feeling sentimental.

Almost Four years have passed and here I am living a life that was taken away from me.

We decided to go to the town just to roam around and bond for all the days we have lost because of our responsibilities. I definitely missed him knowing that he was the only friend I have because after he left for college, I became alone in the school. Bullies started to emerge which confirms that he's the reason why I was never bullied before at school.

But those bullies were bearable... or I just went through so much that I found them not that scary anymore. I think a lot of things in my life made me stronger and braver than before. I rarely crumble now... I have aged pretty strong.

"What do you want? It's all on me..." Tobias said as he smiled at me.

A big smile crept into my face, "Really? Hmm.. then I want this... this and this." I enthusiastically pointed to the food on the menu which seemed to be delicious.

He chuckled at me. "You must really be that hungry, huh?"

I winked at him. "It's your first time treating me so... who am I to refuse?"

He shook his head with a hint of a smile on his lips. He then looked at the menu and ordered.

I roamed my eyes around the place. It is a newly built restaurant here in the town and it is my first time being here. I rarely visit the town ever since Tobias has left for college. I just occasionally came here when I was helping Aunt Vera buy groceries for us.

The restaurant is pretty crowded but the people here seemed to enjoy the food being served to them.

"Wait for me, I'll just buy something," Tobias said while we were waiting for the food to be served.

Just as when we were here inside the restaurant, he thought of buying something. "You should have bought it earlier," I snorted but nodded regardless.

He left after that with a grin, leaving me inside while waiting for our food.

I was playing with my fingers, trying to be patient because I could feel that I was already hungry from the smell of food around. But suddenly, I felt my hair being pulled which made me gasp and immediately stood up. To my surprise, a man was already behind me with a sharp metal pointed at my abdomen.

"Give all your money! Or I'll kill this woman!" His arm which was around my neck tightened.

The people inside the place started to panic from the sight of a man pointing a knife at me. I guess I looked like the easiest target in this place, that's why he decided to pick me as a hostage.

Everyone started taking their wallet and placed them near the counter with shivering hands. The others were even crying.

"You've picked the wrong target, you see..." I said wearing no emotions, which made the man a little surprised. He tightened his arm around my neck even more, almost choking me.

"I've been in a worse situation than this," I stated calmly before biting his arm. I, then, elbowed his abdomen which made him lose grip on the knife that he was holding.

I kicked his abdomen after that which made him fall to his knees. Good thing, I was wearing my boots today. Must have been a bad day for this man.

I was about to kick him once more when Tobias entered the scene in fury, "You moron!" With speed, he gripped the man's collar.

"Die, fucking asshole!" Tobias started punching him; he is so angry that he looks like a monster and if I will not stop him, he could kill the man from punching him.

"Tobias... Let's go," I ordered him as I held his arm but he did not move even a bit, he was breathing heavily which tells how mad he was.

I gripped on his arm tighter and pulled him out of the restaurant. Good thing the olicemen entered the place as soon as we got out.

"You've done too much," I stated in a serious tone, not liking what he did.

He sighed, and I could sense that he was already calm. "You could have ended up being hurt."

"I'm fine, Tobias. I am not the same girl you always protected," I assured him as I looked at his fist bleeding.

I decided to pull him near a clinic. "Excuse me, do you have a first aid kit with you?" I asked politely to the sales lady.

The woman in the white coat who I refer to as the sales lady looked at me then at Tobias who's still quiet.

"I'll treat him. Please take a seat, sir." Said the woman.

Tobias still did not move, ignoring the woman, he still looked ruthless as if he could kill but I knew that he was trying to control his anger from what happened earlier. Though I'm not sure if he was being stubborn or he just did not hear it.

I awkwardly smiled at the woman, "I'll do it... I apologized for the stubbornness."

I then sighed as I looked at the ruthless looking Tobias, he really changed a lot. I cannot deny the truth that even I, was scared of him.
