Chapter 117: Chapter 117

Daxton's POV

Vampires slowly walked closer to me and I guess they thought that I couldn't see them. But I ready myself as I hold my knife firmly as if my life is relying on it but I don't fear anything even death itself. Because the power that is awaiting me needs a lot of strength and I have to get the word fear out of me. Learning to be independent has been my chore.

When one of the vampires had the guts to attack me, I didn't think twice as I used my lightning speed and slid the throat of the vampire. Other vampires must have been shocked as they took a step back, afraid to make a move. I knew that they do not like me being here in this place but I don't like them here either so it's just quits.

It seems like after being shocked they got mad that I killed one of them as once again they started advancing, this time, all of them attacked me at once that I have no other choice but to kill them as I dodge the other, I also took the chance of killing them one by one until after I don't know how long or it didn't even last long, I was the only one remaining standing inside the cave while the vampires were slowly disappearing into ashes.

In order to survive this place, I had no choice but to defend myself. In doing so, I have killed them too.

I just didn't realise that I had gained some wounds from them, I didn't even know when and how I got these, maybe because the wounds are bearable and nothing compared to the ones that they have received, and maybe because I'm too numb to feel the pain.

Thinking that I was only thirteen and those vampires were all adults, yet I finished them all. They are just right, I am truly a monster.

That was my father's desire. To train me in my early age in order to defend myself because he always wanted me to think that one day, it is not just myself that I have to defend but the whole kingdom of werewolves.

At the age of 13, the number of creatures that I killed was multiple times greater than my age.

If not a monster, then what am I? I grew up with other creatures thinking I am a monster because they said that I was the Chosen One who will lead them... and who might also kill them.

I have lived my life like this and I guess I will be living like this. I waited inside the cave... waiting for the other vampires to come because I have a feeling that this is their haven especially in the daylight since they are afraid of the heat of the sun that could burn them, they will hide in the darkness which is this cave.

I have to kill all the vampires, I need to finish them all to ensure that they wouldn't harm those humans. Humans are known as innocent because besides having no power, they do not have any idea about the existence of other creatures, yet they only think about us as if they only existed in fairytales.

Not long after, three vampires came in and their eyes were bloody red as if firing in madness and anger. They were showing their fangs to showcase but it did not even cause me fear as I just smirked and ran towards them for a kill.

They did the same as well, three of them attacked me all at once but even though vampires are known for having a fast speed. I am still faster than them because my existence is as light as air, my speed is faster than any other creatures and that is my advantage.

So it was not difficult for me to kill the three using my knife, in a battle it is not just capacity and abilities to rely on but also the mind as well, and that's another one for my advantage.

After finishing the vampires, I decided to take a nap on the darkest side of the cave, not too far from the entrance, yet not too close as well.

I sighed as I took a seat on a big stone, enough for me here to have a nap for a while before facing another battle with a vampire who would dare to enter the cave.

Yet, after a while my attention was caught when I heard lots of human voices coming near. Despite them still in the distance, my hearing it telling me that they are heading here in the cave... at this time of hour? For what then? Didn't they know that it is dangerous? Well, it's not dangerous now since I already killed the vampires, however, I am here... and just my existence is already dangerous.

I decided to wait, however, when I felt that they were getting closer I stood up from where I was sitting and was about to walk away and get out of this cave but... I was glued to my spot when my nose smelled a very alluring scent.

That moment, I felt like my heart stopped and I couldn't move my feet. That scent... I didn't know that I would meet the person I've been dreaming of meeting here in this human village... the most unexpected place.

Wait... is this scent really my mate's scent? My heart started beating fast as my feet started moving on its own while my mind kept on thinking things, especially the owner of that scent.

I cannot deny the fact that for the first time my mind stopped functioning properly. My heart is beating rapidly and I was lost because all I want is to see the owner of that scent and to clarify what's happening to me.

My feet headed towards the exit of the cave, to which the scent was coming from.

I have a hunch that it was... my mate.

That's my mate's scent.
