"Mom?". She whispered and she turned with Cindy.
"What's she doing here?". Cindy asked and they disengaged.
Kapella cleaned her tears and sniffed.
"Mom what are you doing here?". She asked.
"We need to talk, Cindy excuse us". Mrs. Elijah told her and dragged Kapella to an empty classroom.
She closed the door behind and turned to her.
"Mom what's going on?".
"Now tell me what's going on with your face all over the papers as a rising celebrity with the charming voice". She screamed.
"Don't scream at me Mom, it ain't a crime to sing, right?".
"It is for you, you're attracting trouble to yourself".
"Then just tell me what the hell I am and the reason behind all the fvcking restrictions cos right now I'm ready to break them, every single one, I'm gonna sing and you ain't gonna stop me".
"Did that come out from your mouth?".
"Yes it did, why can't you just tell me!". She cried bitterly.
"It'll change you, I'm not ready for that".
"I'm ready, I'm ready to know the mysteries about me, how I can breathe in water, how I can hear in water, how I can see clearly, how I don't get affected by a damn tranquilizer". She mentioned and Mrs. Elijah gasped.
"Did you swim?".
"I fell into a pool, now are you gonna tell me huh? ". She asked.
" I can't ".
" Damn it, Maybe you should tell me why my bracelet glowed like there was danger ".
" No, No No No, how long did you stay in the water? ".
" Long enough, it just kept glowing brightly and I felt my legs trying to glue together but it stopped as soon as I left the water ".
" It glowed, No you've exhausted its potency". Mrs. Elijah explained and tears formed in her eyes.
"Mom, you need to tell me, what's all this about?".
"Promise me you won't go evil, Promise me you won't hate or leave me ".
She held her face firmly.
"You're scaring me, Mom, you know I'll never hate you, I Love You". She whispered and held her hand tightly.
Mrs. Elijah raised her head and tears dropped from her eyes.
"I'm not your birth Mother, You were never our daughter".
"Is that it?".
"There's more, You're not completely human, you're a Mermaid, The last of your kind".

"Ma'am we've deleted the footage, everything is sealed, what happened at the pool can never leak". The CCTV operator told Ashley who was at the Library.
"You know I'll kill all of you if it leaks, My Family will make sure your family and generation to come feed on crumb". She threatened and he looked down.
"Where's the last of it?". She asked and he handed a disk to her.
"Careful Ma'am, it's the last of footage that has your brother's criminal act".
"Shut up!". She cursed and he remained mute.
"You said you're sure no students had a camera up".
"Check for yourself ma'am, they were afraid of your family I think, it's trouble if it's tracked to them".
"Good, Disappear". She commanded and insert the disk into the laptop in front of her.
She played the video and it began with Diaz covering Nancy's nose with a handkerchief as she entered the room.
She fast forward to the time the students came in and paid attention to be sure there was no one with a camera up.
There was non except a boy who held his phone to the chest, it was Francis.
"Bitch". She cursed and paused the video before she screenshot it.
She minimized the background and moved her Whatsapp Window where she sent the screenshot to a contact 'Finn' and then typed a message.
'Find and Deal With'
She moved back to the video window and continued playing.
That was when she saw something no one saw before.
When Kapella dived into the water there was a kind of illumination from it like something was glowing in the water.
The camera only caught it because it was up and only little light was reflecting.
"What the hell is that?".

Kapella and Mrs. Elijah walked out of the room and closed the door behind.
"I hope all is well". Cindy asked.
"Yeah, I'll be taking my leave, make sure to behave well". Mrs. Elijah said and left with her bag.
Kapella sniffed and Cindy puts her hand around her neck.
"Did Mom spank you that hard?". She asked and they chuckled.
"I'm fine, don't act like you didn't eavesdrop".
"Of course I tried to but with all fvcking walls in the classroom now soundproof, nothing goes in or out, yes I eavesdropped and will be glad if I had heard cos with this look, you ain't gonna tell me".
"Cindy, you must understand that.....".
"There are strange things about you and if you wish not to discuss it, Fine, it's fine by me, don't just get into a big problem because of it cause I'll kill myself".
Cindy smiled and put her hand around her neck.
"A good reason I'm never gonna break up with you Girlfriend".
"Like you wouldn't abandon me for some dude". She said.
"Nay you come first baby Girl, can we go to class now? ".

"It's so funny you get to find out at the end, after years of friendship, a friendship full of lies ". The Mermaid who turned out to be Mrs. Elijah's friend, Anita said.
"I knew there was always something fishy about you Anita, you always covered your hair, avoided the pool like a plague, and eat only fish meal, I blend into that feeding part and even prepared some for you because I thought you were born that way I didn't even think.... ".
"I was a Mermaid or they even exist". Anita said and the baby's cry intensify.
"Can you help her with the child?". Elijah asked.
"What? What if she tries to eat me?".
"Mermaids don't eat people". He told her.
"How can you be so sure, Are you one?".She asked and took the child from Anita.
"What's a male Mermaid called?". She asked.
"Merman". She replied.
"Merman....".She stressed and cuddled the baby.
"She's so beautiful, her face is literally glowing out beauty like you".
"We're always beautiful". Anita said.
"But Dangerous, isn't that right?".
"No, It isn't right, Humans made mermaids this, we were once fun-loving creatures who wanted to be their friends and help them hunt Sea creatures like whales, helped them fight underwater battles but humans will always be humans, they can't be trusted ". She said and paused.
" It isn't in my power to tell you this, we've taken an oath never to reveal it to anyone ".
" You all were responsible for the wreck, weren't you, the music and the storm weren't a coincidence at all ". Mrs. Elijah guessed and the baby had stopped crying.
" We can't be sure who are hunters or humans so we use our voice to call out to the storm and destroy although part of revenge on the human factor ".
" Who were those people in the Red ship". He inquired.
"Mermaid Hunters, they don't often kill, just turn us into slaves that cry pearls for them".
"Cry pearl?".
"You hardly cried and when you do, you don't let anyone see it". She added.
"I'm different, I cry molten diamond that solidifies to diamond". She said.
"What?". She exclaimed.
"I guess that explains my riches now".
"You could literally buy anything you want back then".
Mrs. Elijah reminded and the child resumed crying.
"Shhhh".
"Of course I could and things might probably have not been like this if I told you what I was?".
"What happened?". Mr. Elijah asked and she exhaled.
"Do you remember Danny?". Anita asked.
"Danny... the god of handsomeness?". Mrs. Elijah asked and cuddled the baby again.
"Yes... The one who taught us Italian ". Anita said.
"How can I forget Danny, the one we fought over, after promising to be girlfriends for life, I can never forget".
"I'm sorry Jane that I chose him over you". She said.
"I knew you would always choose him, he fought his siblings and family for you, that love was out of the world". She sang and the infant resumed crying.
"Do you breastfeed or something like that, she sounds hungry".
"She isn't hungry, it's the sun, it's burning her skin".
"I guess I'll have to move to a shady place?". Mrs. Elijah asked.
"Did you say our love was out of the world?".
"Everyone knew you and Danny were together, you were the best couple at High School, haven't you guys got married? is this his child? ". Mr. Elijah asked.
" Danny was a Romantic Son of the Devil ". She cursed angrily.
