Chapter 34: Chapter 34

RYAN POV

I smiled, reminiscing the event that happened the previous night, the thought of sleeping on Ariel, bringing me to chuckle. It was even weird that I saw the stain of her lips stick on my lips this morning. She must have kissed me.

That naughty lady.

Taking one final look at myself, I decided to leave the room for the dining. My eyes met with Ariel the moment I stepped into the dining room, as she quickly looked away.

My lips curled into a small smile, as I sat looking at her intently. With a flirtatious smile, I winked at her, as her cheeks turned crimson.

“What are we eating today?” I asked, as she began dishing out my breakfast.

“Something light. Just toasted English muffins and coffee. I hope you love it.” I nodded, as she prepared to leave.

My hand held her wrist, preventing her from moving further. She stopped, as I felt her tensed up a bit.

“Ariel, can you sit with me?” I wasn't sure that came out, but I'm glad it did.

She sat gently, as she still didn't meet my gaze.

“Don't tell me you are avoiding my gaze because you kissed me last night.” That seemed to do the trick, as she gasped, looking at me for a while before looking away again.

She bit her lips gently, prompting to gaze at her, lost again. There was something that turned me on in how she bit her lips. How she gets nervous, and the ways her cheeks heat up, at my words.

I cleared my throat, trying to brush away my improper thought that early morning.

“I'm not good at this, you know.” She raised her eyes to look at me, confusion on her face.

“What is that?” She whispered…

“At being married. "I rasped out, raising her chin to make her look at me.

She held my hands, the warmness of her hands intercepting my thoughts again. I could not help but conclude that everything about this woman was simply spectacular.

“We are both strangers, before getting married. It is normal to feel that way. We are both newly married.” I sighed, as she moved a bit on her chair.

“I believe you are doing a good job, Ryan.” My face lit up a bit, and at that moment, I wanted more assurance from her, just the way she did yesterday.

Her words are golden when given at the right time.

“For us to be good at being married, we need to communicate. Learn to trust each other and be more open. It is a gradual process.” She stated, as I nodded in agreement, taking a sip of the warm coffee.

“Interesting. You are always good with your words.” I complimented as she smiled widely.

Her smile, yet lovely.

“Thank you. I guess it is just a thing for writers to be good with words.” I nodded once again, taking a taste of the toasted muffin, as I moaned.

Yummy. She always amazes me.

“I like your food as usual. But I hope you do not feel too bored at home here.”

“Bored'' is an understatement. I've started working on sending my Résumé for work in some Business company here in the U.S.A. I would like to work for some time.” She explained.

“Seriously? You should have informed me then. I will have myself or Nick fix you one up at any of the companies.” She raised her hand to complain.

“I really do not want to have you intervene. I want to have a job at a fair point. That way, I won't have to prove to anybody that my husband helped me to get the job. I hope you understand.” I nodded, listening to her terms, but definitely not accepting.

That will undoubtedly be unreasonable from my endnote to help her get a job. I want her close to me even if she were to work. I promised in my heart to pull a string, no matter what.

“What if you work as my Personal Assistant?”

ARIEL POV

Personal Assistant? At Ryan's words, I felt the whole room still, my body feeling warm. The thought of being his assistant reminded me of how that will strengthen our relationship. We will be quite close. We can even make love in the office.

I felt my cheeks heat up at my thought.

“Aww.” Ryan swooned, as my stare cut to his.

He took a sip of coffee, as he stared deeply at me.

“Don't tell me you are thinking of something dirty, Ariel?” He winked, making me blush deeper.

How did he know? Gosh! So embarrassing. I darted my eyes away.

His left hand gently turned my face to meet his.

“We are a couple. Don't feel embarrassed for thinking of something like that, as long as it is about me. Fantasize about me.” I pushed his hand away, as he laughed, finishing the remaining toasted muffin on his plate.

"You are unbelievable." I kept blushing.

I can't believe Ryan said that. Did he get hit by something?

“My offer is still open, though.” I cleared my throat as he spoke.

“I am not interested.” I simply declined, due to some reasons best known to me.

“Okay. You can still think about it, twinkle toes.” He stood up to leave, but I felt like teasing him a bit.

“Don't think you can leave the house Scot free. What if I poisoned you.” I felt him stop, as he turned instantly.

His face turned Stoic, and the thought of laughing almost came through.

“You are joking, right?” His eyebrows drew together.

“Well, I don't know. The antidote to the poison is a kiss from me.” I saw as his arm lowered. He let out a sigh.

“Come on. I'm all yours.” He replied, a mischievous smile on his lips.

I felt more confident this time as I stopped in front of him. His handsome face, his pointed nose, his chiseled jawline, his brows, his full pink lips calling on to me.

I threw every thought to wind as I inched closer to his face, our nose meeting before taking his lips. His lips moved on mine.

His lips seemed to taste unusually sweet, as I savored it for a while. I released my lips from his, as I breathed out gently. My first or second time of initiating a kiss between us? I thought.

“Goodbye Ariel”He blew me a kiss, as he left.

I felt dazed and at a loss for words. My eyes followed him, until I knew he was out of sight.

My phone beeped, jolting me out of my reverie, as I shook my head. I walked to the dining table, as I picked my phone. I opened it to read a message.

A shudder passed through me, as I felt my body trembling.
