Chapter 102: Chapter 102

"Mommy are you okay?" my daughter asked innocently.

Daevon quickly helped and supported me. He gently led me towards a chair and let down our daughter by my side. He then picked up the phone and looked at it.

With my trembling hands, I embraced my daughter tightly, trying to gather strength.

"Fuck!" my husband cursed as he quickly checked his phone.

He walked back and forth while holding his phone on his ear.

"Where are you?" he immediately asked, the moment the other answered his call.

I could see how his worried eyes slowly turned surprised and closed it shut.

"Wait for us. We're coming," he added before ending the call. He turned to look at me this time, worried if he should tell me or not until he let out a deep sigh.

My heart started pounding at what he might tell me.

"Cassandra got shot," he said that made me frozen in feet.

"L-Let's go see her," I immediately told him. Tears started building in my eyes while Daevon crept down in front of me. He held my hand gently and squeezed it.

"Calm yourself first, honey," he reminded and looked at me softly. "It's bad for the baby," he added, gently.

I can understand everything completely. I tried to calm myself by breathing properly before looking at my daughter who was staring at me innocently.

She gave me a smile and held my hand, doing the same thing her dad was.

"Everything will be okay, mommy," she assured me even though she doesn't know what's happening.

I slowly calmed down looking at my husband and daughter. I can finally think straight again and thought of calling Azaia.

One ring and she quickly answered the call.

"Cassandra was shot," I immediately said.

"I'll bring Andrian and Auntie to your house. Bring Daeshaia over so we can all go together. We can't bring the kids there," she quickly responded back.

"Okay. Keep safe," I simply answered.

"You too. Don't think too much. It's bad for the baby," she reminded me and I nodded; as if she can see me.

"I will. Thank you," I mumbled and ended the call.

Just like what she said, we went back to the house and waited for them. After a while, we headed straight to the hospital.

Daevon and I were the first to arrive at the place. When we're now there, he quickly went to console his friend while on the other, I tried to calm. There was a lot of fear and nervousness wrecking me on the inside but I can't put my baby at a risk.

Although it was hard, I was able to breathe better now when I heard the news. The doctor informed us that she's now safe and that nothing dangerous happened to her.

When Azaia came to the hospital, rushing. I can see the same thing written on her face; fear, nervousness and worry. She asked us how Cassandra was doing and we responded, she's safe.

Even though, it's bad to think of someone else's misfortune but I couldn't help but feel relieve that Andrei killed Rozz. I feel like finally, no one will be able to hurt my friends anymore.

When the operation ended, Cassandra was quickly transported to a private room by Andrei.

We all talked about what happened and waited for her to wake up. After several hours, she continued to stay unconcious.

"I think we should go home, honey. I know you want to be here for her but in your case it's bad for your health to stay here for too long," Daevon whispered as he embraced me.

I nodded and glanced at my friend who was deeply asleep right now.

"Thank you," he whispered again and kissed my forehead.

I only gave him a small smile. I understand him and I also don't want to reach my limit here, especially when the life inside of ny stomach will be in danger.

Daevon stood up and bid goodbye to Andrei. He promised that we'll be back as soon as we rested and then did the same to Azaia because she was the one taking care of Andrian and Auntie.

Andrei only responded with a weak nod before we walked away.

When we arrived at the car, I only leaned my back across the passenger's seat.

"Are you okay?" he immediately asked worriedly.

"Just tired," I simply said.

He sighed and caressed my face before dropping his hand to my tummy.

He then looked at me in the eyes and gave me a narrow smile.

"She'll wake up soon. Don't worry and get some rest. I'll just carry you when we arrive home," he said. I only nodded and leaned my back on my seat.

I'm really exhausted for no reason.

Daevon pressed something onto my chair so it can lower itself. After that, I slowly felt tiredness creeping my body but I can't seem to sleep.

Even after fifeteen minutes passed by, I still couldn't fall asleep yet. I only heard the phone ringing and so I peeked to see Daevon answering it.

I'm curious bit because I'm too tired, I can't react well at all.

"You can rest now, fvcker," I heard him mumbled and ended the call.

He smiled and leaned on me.

"She's now awake, honey," he whispered and kissed my forehead.

Automatically, I closed my eyes as I fell asleep.

Thank God she's okay.
