Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Flora had no choice but to go.
When she arrived in Kevin's room, he already appeared visibly impatient and frowned at her, saying disapprovingly, "Is this how you usually serve the guests?"
"No," Flora hurriedly shook her head. Kevin was the owner of the hotel. If she messed up something minor, it would reflect badly on Chloe. After all, she worked under Chloe's leadership, and she was the one who had recommended her for this job.
"I just...," Flora awkwardly chuckled a few times, her empty hands fidgeting at her sides uncomfortably.
Kevin looked at her empty hands and immediately understood what was going on, he smirked mockingly, "What? Forgot to order the dress?"
"Yes... I'm so sorry. You startled me that day, and my mind went blank for half an hour, so I completely forgot about it," Flora bit her tongue, shrugged her shoulders, and looked ashamed, making it hard for anyone to blame her.
"Oh? So it's my fault after all," Kevin looked at her with a mocking smile. He never expected this woman to order the dress for him since she never asked for the size. The dress had already been ordered and delivered yesterday. He just wanted to see how she would explain herself!
"No... that's not what I meant, Mr. Kevin. You misunderstood. It's all my fault, I'm an idiot," Flora hurriedly waved her hands. Although it was indeed his fault in this matter, it was an unchangeable principle that subordinates covered up their leaders' mistakes!
"Tell me, what should we do now?" Kevin crossed his arms, teasing her with interest.
"I... I'll go order it now," Flora said reluctantly. Everyone knew that it was impossible to order a set of formal wear in a day, but what else could she say? What else could she do?
Kevin shook his head helplessly and said, "Forget it. There's no time for you to order the dress now." He then handed her a schedule sheet from the desk.
"Is there anything else I can assist you with, Mr. Kevin?" Flora instinctively took the schedule sheet, but she didn't rush to see what it contained. She still tilted her head and looked at Kevin, asking.
Kevin pointed to the schedule sheet in Flora's hand with his chin, "Can't you read it yourself? At 10 o'clock sharp, we have a meeting in the conference room on the 30th floor for the food and beverage company. In the afternoon, we have a social gathering event at the Alma Hotel for the top 100 domestic companies..."
Kevin became more and more gnashing his teeth as he spoke. These tasks were supposed to be handled by his assistant, who should have reported the schedule to him. Now, it was the other way around, and he was supposed to report the schedule to his little assistant?!
After listening to him, Flora understood and exclaimed, "Oh" before suddenly asking, "So what does this have to do with me?"
Kevin faltered, his face shifting from green to white, as if... it indeed had nothing to do with her. But who said that if it had nothing to do with her, she couldn't be involved? His expression changed, and he said, "You're a server, so you should serve the attendees, right?"
"Oh, well, this is already part of my job. Chloe has already assigned it," Flora breathed a sigh of relief. It was just serving coffee. It wasn't a big deal, and the 30th floor was already within their department's responsibilities.
"That's good then. This is your dress. Wait for me in the lobby at 6 o'clock sharp," Kevin turned his hands and pointed to the evening gown on the sofa, calmly commanding.
"My dress?" Flora was taken aback and looked in astonishment at the dress bag on the sofa, then stared at Kevin and asked, "Do I have to attend the banquet too?" Please, no~~!
"Of course, you're my assistant, and you look pretty. You can go just to make up the numbers. The schedule clearly states 'with a female companion.' I can't go alone, can I?" Kevin said matter-of-factly.
"But as long as you ask, there are plenty of women willing to accompany you," Flora pleaded. As a pregnant woman, she didn't want to attend any banquet!
Wait, what banquet did he just mention? The top 100 domestic companies, and the Davis Family Group was certainly among the top 100. The Smith Family Group must also be on the list. Joshua, Maxwell... Anyway, she didn't want to see anyone from that family!
"Can I not go, please?" Flora was on the verge of tears.
"No —!" Kevin softly spoke, uttering the word that left her in despair. Once he had made up his mind, it wouldn't easily change. He could certainly sense what Flora was afraid of, but he wouldn't alter his plans because of her fears.
"We're about to start the meeting," Kevin interrupted her before she could say anything more and turned to organize the papers on his desk.
Flora glared at his back, frustrated to the point of itching her teeth, but in the end, she could only helplessly turn around and leave.
It seemed that she couldn't escape attending the banquet. Hopefully, Maxwell wouldn't be present at the event, and Joshua... His leg was injured, so he probably wouldn't attend, right?
Before 10 o'clock, all the attendees had already arrived, and no one dared to be late. After pouring a cup of coffee for each person, Flora stepped back into the coffee room to rest.
Linda, on the other hand, leaned against the door crack, glancing around the chairman's seat without looking back and waved at Flora, saying, "Flora, come over here and see, the new CEO looks even more charming working."
"Don't ask me to look at him, I have no appetite lately," Flora replied without looking up, engrossed in her phone.
She had almost developed an aversion towards Kevin and genuinely doubted whether tonight's banquet was another one of his schemes to play tricks on her! So, she didn't want to see him at all, and even tried to avoid him at all costs!
