Chapter 78: Chapter 78

"Damn it! You're such a troublemaker!" Maxwell muttered under his breath as he dragged the terrified Flora towards the nearest exit. He should have let her go and fend for herself, but his grip on her hand remained firm, unable to let go.

Did he not want her to die? He didn't even care that she might drag him down! If something happened to him today, it would be because of her inexplicably complex feelings!

"Where is the emergency exit?" Maxwell asked coldly.

Flora, who had a moment of clarity upon hearing those words, pointed in another direction and said, "Over there, follow me." She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the direction of the emergency exit.

However, instead of leading him to the safety door, Flora led him into the employees' break room. Several lazy employees were startled by their intrusion. Before they could utter a word of complaint, their attention was captivated by the astonishingly handsome Maxwell, their faces filled with both surprise and admiration.

Maxwell's face grew darker as he was stared at, his original intention of finding the safety door completely forgotten. This woman had brought him to this infatuated break room?

Flora forced an awkward laugh and said, "I'm sorry, can you help us out?..." Before she could finish her sentence, hurried footsteps could be heard at the door. In a panic, she was embraced and tucked under a nearby table.

The break room door was suddenly kicked open, and two men in black rushed in. The three infatuated employees, standing in front of the table, stared in horror at the unexpected intruders. Though they couldn't quite comprehend what was happening, they noticed that the handsome man from a moment ago had disappeared, and they realized they were facing these men.

One of the men smiled obsequiously and said, "Gentlemen... do you need any assistance?"

"Did anyone see someone come in?" a man asked in a rough voice.

And the infatuated girls wore a confused expression and shook their heads.

"Hah, sir, did you see it? The person you're looking for is not here anymore, maybe they've already left," the floor manager said with a smile, not wanting the hotel to be in chaos because of these inexplicable people.

The men looked suspiciously at the lounge and reluctantly turned to leave. The floor manager saw a few lazy employees and sternly scolded, "It's you three again, loafing around here. Get back to work!"

"Yes," the girls didn't want to leave the handsome man but dared not play around with their livelihoods, so they left one by one to do their respective tasks. One of them, unwilling to give up, had a clever idea and locked the door to the lounge from the outside during the chaos.

She secretly planned to leave him locked in the lounge and later ask the handsome man for his phone number when the floor manager was not paying attention. With a smug expression on her face, she left carefree!

After all, they were in a hotel, and the men didn't dare to be too audacious. They had to hide their guns back in their pockets and, after searching around, returned to Room 3003.

In the room, Philip held the tampered necklace in his hand and raised his eyebrows when the men entered, coldly saying, "Where is he?"

The men lowered their heads in guilt and fearfully confessed, "We accidentally let him escape."

"You idiots!" Philip angrily stared at the useless group and then took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing his anger, and commanded, "Go find Miss Chiyoko. I want to personally persuade her to go back to Japan."

"Yes," the men quickly responded, secretly relieved that they still had a task to complete. It meant they didn't have to die! It was good to be alive, especially working under Philip. It was a miracle to survive even after failure!

Philip raised his hand again, gazing at the dazzling gold necklace, filled with hatred, and gritting his teeth! Maxwell Smith! How dare he deceive the Yota Gang in this way? He must be tired of living!

That crucial half of the necklace, he would make Maxwell hand it over! Since he committed this act of betrayal, he shouldn't blame the ruthless president of Yota Gang. Even if he is Miss Chiyoko's fiance, his life will be taken without hesitation. That's how Yota Gang operates! Bloodthirsty and ruthless, a group that no one dares to provoke!

In the lounge, due to the small space, Flora had to lean against Maxwell's chest. As she smelled the familiar yet unsettling scent emanating from him, her calm heart was suddenly attacked by a wave of fear.

She was lying in his arms, and his hands were wrapped around her waist... Oh my god!

When she heard the silence outside the door, Flora hurriedly struggled out of his embrace, but her head banged hard against the table, causing her to let out a low cry of pain as she rubbed her aching head, cursing under her breath.

Maxwell sneered at her clumsy appearance and mockingly laughed, also moving out from under the table. He reached out to pull the door handle and found that the door was locked from the outside, causing him to pause before pulling harder, but the door remained motionless!

"What's going on?" Flora, who was already thinking about how to escape from his clutches, realized that something was wrong and started to panic. Those damn people locked the two of them in together?

"The door is locked," Maxwell said calmly, showing no signs of discontent or panic. He was someone who easily accepted reality! He turned back, his face filled with a mocking smile as he examined Flora, whose face had turned pale, and sarcastically remarked, "Look at how scared you are. What are you afraid of?"

Flora glared at him and reminded him, "Big Young Master, I came back just now to save you."

"And then?" Maxwell raised an eyebrow at her, lightly chuckling, "Miss Flora, do you think I'm such a brainless person that I can't even guess their intentions?"
