Chapter 77: Chapter 77

Flora instinctively leaned back and stared at him, asking in a daze, "What do you want to do for me?" His smile looked so unreal! It made her feel uneasy.

"I will avenge you," Kevin glanced at the Sunshine Hotel building and said.

Flora looked at him in surprise, observing him. He wanted to avenge her? Was he this kind-hearted?

"How?" she asked curiously. What kind of trick was he playing again?

"Kill him!" Kevin said those words while keeping a smile on his face, as if killing someone was a trivial matter, one that didn't even warrant blinking an eye.

"Kill him?" Flora asked, dumbfounded, unable to grasp the concept behind those words for a moment. It wasn't until Kevin nodded that she finally reacted, but she didn't answer him.

Kevin opened his specially designed notebook and began effortlessly typing away with his ten fingers. Flora leaned against the car door, staring at him with a mixture of fear and disbelief. He was going to help her kill Maxwell? She should be happy about it, shouldn't she? Then why didn't she feel the slightest bit of joy in her heart?

She remembered Maxwell holding her every night, kissing her, forcibly possessing her. He was her first man, and perhaps her body had already developed a reliance on him, which was why she hesitated to answer this question.

"What's the matter? Can't bear to do it?" Kevin sneered at her, feeling a bit uneasy seeing her hesitation. What kind of mentality was this? Was it because he saw her showing affection towards Maxwell, so he felt dissatisfaction?

He was interested in everything Maxwell possessed, including women! It was precisely because of this that he had a special interest in Flora. Otherwise, how could an average-looking girl like her catch his attention?

He was right. Flora couldn't bear it. It was perverse that she couldn't bear for Maxwell to die! She was driving herself crazy with this mindset. She kept cursing herself in her mind: Flora! Have you forgotten how he treated you before?!

"Unfortunately, whether you can bear it or not, he might not survive today," Kevin whispered, startling Flora.

She stared at him, puzzled, and asked, "What do you mean?"

Kevin pointed to the small computer screen with his chin, "See? These people are planning to end his life today."

Flora leaned forward, and the computer screen displayed the network diagram of the hotel building, with several virtual figures constantly changing positions. She couldn't understand what it meant. She looked up at Kevin in horror and asked, "I don't understand what this means. Did you send someone to kill Maxwell? Why would you kill him?"

Kevin shrugged, indifferent, "I have no interest in killing him. It's his comrades who want to kill him. I'm just here to watch the show."

After Kevin finished speaking, he looked at her nervously and chuckled, "If you can't bear him dying, you can go and save him! You still have time, but once he enters room 3003 alone, it will be too late!"

Flora glared at him angrily, finding it hard to believe that he wasn't involved in this. Otherwise, how could he monitor Maxwell's movements?

With a bang, Flora pushed open the car door and walked out, slamming the door shut and retracing her steps back into the hotel.

Behind her, Kevin's lips curled slightly, an evil smile spreading across his handsome face, reaching his eyes!

Room 3003! Flora muttered to herself, entering the staff elevator once again and going straight to the thirtieth floor. The thirtieth floor was primarily used for business conferences, and many large companies would spend money to book rooms here for annual meetings, as well as some small offices.

And room 3003 happened to be one of those small offices. The corridor seemed quiet in between, and Flora walked to the utility room, intending to find a broom or something similar to block the keycard so that the person inside couldn't come out. If Maxwell saw this situation, he would surely suspect foul play!

As she walked through a corridor, she suddenly saw a familiar figure disappear around the corner ahead—it was Maxwell! Flora panicked and quickly followed, momentarily forgetting that she was a fugitive who was supposed to avoid him like the plague! She shouted at his back, "Maxwell!"

Maxwell, walking steadily toward room 3003, stumbled for a moment at the sound of her voice. A surprised expression flickered across his face, but when he turned around, he appeared normal again, staring at Flora as she once again appeared before him as if she were a ghost. What was this woman playing at? Was she playing hide and seek with him?

Flora saw his cold expression and suddenly realized something. Oh heavens! She once again willingly brought herself before him! Flora, you're just crazy! She cursed herself in her mind.

Unconsciously taking a step back, preparing to escape, she opened her mouth hesitantly and stuttered, "Maxwell, you mustn't go! They will kill you."

Maxwell raised the corners of his lips and gave her a slight smile, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh? Is that so? How did you know?"

Flora shook her head, taking a step back and turning around to escape in the opposite direction. But behind her, there was a man, with a gun! The black muzzle and the man's piercing gaze were equally terrifying.

Flora let out a scream, covering her head as she turned and fled! Like a headless fly, she crashed into Maxwell's arms. Startled, Maxwell grabbed her arm and instinctively moved backward, dodging the black muzzle.

The man's gun was not aimed at Flora; it was aimed at Maxwell. With a loud "bang," the bullet hit a glass picture frame, shattering it and causing it to crash to the ground. The sound of the gunshot caught the attention of the person hiding in room 3003. Instantly, several men dressed in black emerged, holding their finely crafted guns, and began to chase after the source of the noise.
