Chapter 73: Chapter 73

"Oh, um... she never mentioned it. She suddenly moved to Germany. Maybe she had been planning it for a while but just didn't tell us," Mrs. Smith chuckled. After speaking, she lowered her gaze slightly, avoiding Maxwell's piercing gaze.

She felt that it wasn't necessary to tell Maxwell about this question. It wouldn't have any meaning even if she did!

"Alright, you should go out early. We'll talk again tonight," Mrs. Smith urged, trying to steer the conversation away from this topic, as she didn't want Maxwell to continue asking.

Maxwell had his doubts, but seeing that Mrs. Smith seemed unwilling to discuss the topic further, he didn't press on. He lightly nodded and said, "Then I'll go out first." After speaking, he turned and walked towards the door. Chiyoko, who had been excited all along, hurriedly caught up. It was rare for Maxwell to agree to take her out, and she didn't want to miss this opportunity!

Sitting in the car, Maxwell controlled the vehicle expressionlessly. He agreed to take her out just to appease Mrs. Smith. He didn't want Mrs. Smith to think that he was constantly against her intentions!

Chiyoko could naturally sense that although Maxwell had agreed, he was very reluctant. However, as long as he was willing to take her out, whether he was happy or not, at least she was happy!

"Maxwell, where are we going?" Chiyoko looked at his beautiful profile, cautiously asking.

"Where do you want to go?" Maxwell focused on driving, not turning to look at her.

The car slowly drove on a private road, and Chiyoko looked at the familiar yet strangely unfamiliar scenery outside the window. Her heart was filled with warmth, and she looked at Maxwell, saying, "I want to go to the seafood harbor we used to visit."

"Sure, no problem." Maxwell chuckled and accelerated toward the direction of the harbor. He could feel Chiyoko staring at him with adoring eyes, a cold smile forming at the corner of his lips as he remained silent.

When the car stopped in the parking lot of the harbor, Chiyoko excitedly gazed at the bustling port, just as lively as it was a year ago. Unable to contain herself, she reached out and looped her arm through Maxwell's, her face filled with joy.

"Maxwell, let's get out of the car quickly. I want to go over there."

She pointed to the busiest area, and Maxwell followed her finger, glancing briefly at the nearby spot before his gaze fell upon her smiling face. He silently observed, undeniable, she was truly beautiful! He suddenly remembered how she looked when he first saw her three or four years ago, as innocent as a lotus just emerging from the water, capturing the attention of countless men!

Chiyoko felt a little embarrassed under his gaze and lowered her gaze slightly. Her flawless face appeared even more beautiful against the backdrop of the sea. Maxwell withdrew his gaze, annoyed that her beauty could still affect him.

Tightening his grip on the steering wheel, he said expressionlessly, "You, get out of the car."

Chiyoko was taken aback and stared at him, puzzled, "Maxwell, aren't you coming down?"

"I have something to do. No matter where you want to go, they will accompany you." Maxwell glanced at the window.

It was then that Chiyoko noticed that there were four young men in black clothes standing solemnly outside the car as if waiting for her to get out.

Chiyoko panicked and turned back, grabbing Maxwell's arm, and shaking her head, "No! Maxwell, I don't want to wander alone. I want to be with you..." She knew he wouldn't be so kind, suddenly wanting to take her out shopping! Maxwell! He still hasn't forgiven her!

Maxwell pulled her hand from his arm and calmly said, "If you don't want to go, you can ask them to take you back. Get out of the car, I'm in a hurry." Maxwell glanced at the time on the car and spoke with annoyance.

Chiyoko's eyes filled with a look of grievance as she looked at him, realizing that he had no intention of accompanying her at all. Reluctantly, she pushed open the car door and stepped out.

Just as she had barely stabilized herself, Maxwell's car quickly turned around and sped away! In just an instant, it disappeared from her sight. The heartless man! She finally realized it, but she wouldn't give up! She believed that one day she could warm his cold heart.

Early in the morning, Flora was informed to go to Kevin's room immediately. Knowing that he was the CEO of the company, Flora's fear and curiosity toward him intensified. Though afraid, she also wanted to get closer to him and find out who he was!

Before leaving the guest room area, Chloe grabbed her arm and warned, "Don't forget to speak well of me at the right time. If the CEO gets angry because of yesterday's incident, remember to take the blame upon yourself!"

"Don't worry, I won't forget," Flora casually replied, unable to believe that she would have this opportunity.

Hesitant, Flora approached Kevin's room and knocked on the door before entering. Kevin was sitting on the sofa, engrossed in reading the materials in his hands, without even glancing at the person who had just arrived.

Flora took a deep breath and stared at him as she asked, "Mr. Kevin, may I ask why you sent for me?" She silently prayed that he wouldn't ask her to do something strange and unusual!

Kevin still didn't look up at her. He pointed with his chin at the corner of the desk where a few documents were placed and said, "Take these and make a copy for me."

It turned out to be just making copies. Flora let out a sigh of relief. As she approached to take the documents, she discreetly stole glances at him, regretting why she didn't study the appearances of either Maxwell or Oliver carefully. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been so confused by them.
