Chapter 71: Chapter 71

Kevin rolled off Chloe and sat beside her, glowering at the intruder. Behind him, Chloe, with her clothes in disarray, caught sight of Mark and a hint of surprise flickered in her eyes. She calmly sat up, swiftly adjusting her clothes that Kevin had torn.

Lowering her gaze, she chuckled lightly before lifting her head, leaning towards Kevin under the gaze of Mark, and embracing him, taking the initiative to press her lips against his. Deeply kissing him, she sweetly smiled and said, "Darling, we'll have a chance to continue later. You two can chat, I'll go back first!"

After speaking, she glanced revengefully at Mark, stood up from the bed, and continued fixing her hair and clothes as she walked towards the door.

"Mr. Kevin, here are the documents you wanted. I'll take my leave now," Mark placed the documents in front of Kevin, gritting his teeth, resisting the urge to pummel him, and turned to chase after Chloe!

"Chloe! Stop right there!" Mark chased after Chloe, shouting at her retreating figure.

Chloe elegantly turned around, with her hair and clothes neatly arranged, now appearing as seductive and provocative as ever. Appraising him, she curled her lips into a cold smile and said, "Mr. Mark, what can I do for you?"

"What were you just doing?" Mark grabbed her shoulders, his eyes wide with anger. She actually engaged in that kind of thing with another man? And it was Kevin Davis!

"Didn't you see everything yourself? Why bother asking?" Chloe sneered, trying to break free from his grip on her shoulders but failing to do so.

Mark's handsome face was already filled with agony, and he closed his eyes in pain, "How could you let another man touch you? Kevin is the CEO of the company, he has countless women, and he won't truly love you!"

What? CEO? Chloe paled in shock. Kevin became the CEO of the company three years ago? Oh my god! Why didn't anyone tell her? The man she had just seduced was the CEO?!

Mark saw her daze and thought that his words had gotten through to her, so he lowered his voice and continued, "Chloe... don't be deceived by his appearance and status. This is a man who can't truly love you, and you must stay away from him."

Chloe looked up at him and mocked, "He can't truly love me, and what about you? Are you the embodiment of love, Mark Johnson? Who do you think you are? Why do you have the right to control my personal life? Who I choose to be intimate with is my own business, can you understand that?"

After Chloe finished speaking, she pushed him aside and walked towards the elevator.

Mark became anxious and followed her, saying, "Chloe, I know I no longer have the right to control you, but I don't want to see you get hurt by other men, do you understand?"

"I appreciate your concern!" Chloe reached into her pocket, took out the car keys, and threw them at Mark. Indifferently, she said, "Here's your car! From now on, it's best if you don't meddle in my affairs! Thanks for your cooperation!"

Chloe didn't pause any longer and stepped into the elevator. As the elevator doors slowly closed, she saw Mark standing still in a state of deep anguish. He didn't want to see her get hurt? Couldn't he see that she had always been hurting?

It's just that she never showed her vulnerable side; she always put on an indifferent facade. It had always been her way of self-protection.

When Chloe returned home, she had already regained her usual good mood. As she entered the house, Flora and her mother had already placed the food on the table.

Seeing her come in, Flora asked worriedly, "Chloe, didn't you say it would only take ten minutes? Why did it take so long?"

Although they had agreed on ten minutes, Flora and Linda had waited downstairs for half an hour, so Flora decided to come back first.

"Encountered that annoying man," Chloe casually said, pulling out a chair at the dining table and starting to eat.

"Well... did you see Kevin? He didn't take advantage of you, did he?" Flora asked cautiously. She knew how terrifying Kevin, the wicked man, was. She has experienced it personally, it's hard to outwit him!

"How could that happen? Am I so easily defeated?" Chloe replied arrogantly, having completely forgotten the fright she had experienced in room 2309, and also forgetting who had come to save her from being violated!

Flora exclaimed with joy, "So, you succeeded? How was it? Did he have a dragon with a wide-open mouth on his back?" She anxiously stared at Chloe, who appeared nonchalant. It was driving her crazy. She desperately wanted to know!

"I didn't see a dragon, but I saw a snake," Chloe recalled the tattoo on Kevin's tanned skin. Yes! She firmly believed it was a snake! Not the dragon Flora had described!

"What do you mean?" Flora asked, puzzled, while staring at her.

"Meaning, I saw a very big and cool snake on his back. It wasn't scary at all, it looked quite fun. If I were a man, I would also get a tattoo as cool as that one," Chloe said with a smug smile, thinking about Kevin's tattoo. She liked it so much that she planned to ask Mark to get a similar one. Ugh! Why did she think of him again?!

"No, it should be a dragon, a dragon with a wide-open mouth!" Flora anxiously corrected her.

"It's a snake! A snake with a wide-open mouth!" Chloe insisted.

"No..." Flora became so desperate that she almost cried.

What was going on? It was true that there was a tattoo on Kevin's back, that much was undeniable. But Chloe, the only one who had witnessed it, was claiming it was a snake. Oh my God! Was the tattoo on his back the same one as Maxwell's?

Flora thought about the terrifying tattoo on the backs of Maxwell and Oliver, and she couldn't understand how it resembled a snake in any way. She had seen it too many times, and she was sure she couldn't be mistaken! It was a lifelike dragon!
