Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Chloe's hands pressed against his chest as she sneered, "Mr. Mark, why are you telling me all this? Regardless of whether you want it or not, it was your choice."

"I just want you to know that I can't be without you..." Mark growled lowly, lowering his head to kiss her lips. His warm hand caressed her chest, trembling as it moved.

Chloe held his hand in place, looking at him with a light laugh, "Do you want me? Give me a Mazda 6 coupe, red." After saying these words, even Chloe herself felt shameless. But this was what he owed her, and he could never fully repay his debts to her. What's a Mazda 6 in comparison?

Mark took her hand off his forearm and brought it to his lips, kissing it. "Even if it cost me my life, I wouldn't hesitate." Let alone a relatively inexpensive car. His kiss descended once again, landing between her eyebrows.

One hand lifted her shirt, gently stroking her body. As his hand reached her sensitive area, Chloe slightly turned her body and pressed down on his wandering hand. Staring at him, she spoke coldly, "Get lost! I don't want the car anymore!"

Mark was momentarily stunned, observing the sudden change in her expression. Softly, he asked, "Baby, what's the matter with you?"

"Suddenly, I feel like even if you give me ten cars, it's not worth dirtying my body with a playboy like you," Chloe taunted, pushing herself away from him and sitting up, adjusting her disheveled clothes in an elegant manner on the sofa.

Apart from coldness, there was no other expression on her face. Yes, she loved him, she defied him, she wanted to mess up his life as punishment for his philandering! But in the end, she couldn't let go of herself. Even if she appeared progressive on the surface, deep down, she was a traditional, self-respecting woman!

Mark felt her indifference and sighed softly, hanging his head beside Chloe. He spoke in a low voice, "Baby, that time I got drunk, Alma Brown took me home. And the next morning we woke up in the same bed, I didn't even know what happened. Two months later, she told me she was pregnant..."

"Get lost! I don't want to hear it!" Chloe shouted at him, blinking away the tears in her eyes.

She told herself to stay calm, to appear as though she didn't care, to let him know that without him, she, Chloe, could still live a wonderful life!

Mark reluctantly stood up, hesitating, unwilling to leave. Chloe got up and pulled open the wooden door of the office with a loud 'whoosh'. Two leaning figures stumbled in, screaming, and fell to the ground before quickly getting up.

"Do you like what you heard?" Chloe glared at the two gossip queens, gritting her teeth as she spoke.

"Don't be angry, life is just a play," Flora chuckled, secretly assessing the two people whose faces didn't look right.

Mark wanted to say something more, but seeing this chaotic scene, he could only leave resentfully.

Flora watched Mark's sad figure disappear at the door and turned back to Chloe, speaking seriously, "It's evident that Mr. Mark really loves you. He's so pitiful."

"Even if he loves me sincerely, he's still someone else's husband. Chloe, you'll find someone better," Linda said, patting Chloe's shoulder in consolation. She, like Chloe, despised unfaithful men for any reason!

Chloe was annoyed by their noise and scolded loudly, "Are you two no longer interested in your jobs? The new CEO will be coming tomorrow, shouldn't you go check the guest rooms properly?"

Flora and Linda looked at each other and dared not say another word. They each pulled their heads down and busied themselves.

At the end of the workday, all the employees received a notice from their superiors that the new CEO had changed his schedule and would not be staying at the hotel. The saddest person to hear this news was Linda.

Chloe glanced at her and patted her disappointed little face, teasing, "Darling, it's not that I didn't give you the opportunity to serve our mysterious CEO, but rather that he didn't give you the chance. Don't blame me."

Linda, who loved handsome men from the bottom of her heart, had already imagined the new CEO as a charming and handsome young man, eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of him. But she never expected... alas, fate had decreed that her dreams would not come true!

Flora comforted her with a chuckle, "It's alright, maybe he's an ugly, old, and weird person. There aren't that many Prince Charmings in this world. Don't be disappointed anymore. Chloe here didn't feel as sad even after a breakup."

"Yes, I firmly believe he's an ugly person! He must be!" Linda nodded, gritting her teeth.

Just then, there was a knock on the office door. Alma pushed the door open and walked in, a bit anxious, "Chloe, do you have enough staff here? Send a few people downstairs to greet the guests. We don't have enough staff downstairs."

"The new CEO is coming?" Linda whispered excitedly, her eyes sparkling.

But Chloe quickly grabbed her from behind. She looked at Alma and said, "We have enough staff, but do you think these two are professional enough?" She pointed to Flora and Linda. This caused both of them to have sad expressions on their faces, feeling extremely hurt by her words.

Alma glanced at Linda and Flora and said, "They are pretty enough. Just stand behind the hospitality professionals and don't say a word. Please, the hostesses are either off duty or on leave..."

"What important person is coming?" Flora blinked her curious eyes and asked.

Alma smiled and replied, "Not an important person, just someone who is handling matters on behalf of the new CEO. Probably someone like the CEO's assistant. As long as they are from the corporation, we should serve them well."

"Alright, I got it. We'll go down immediately," Chloe said. She still maintained a cold demeanor towards Alma.

Upon receiving her response, Alma sighed with relief and said, "Thank you. They will arrive in fifteen minutes, so please gather a few more people. I appreciate your help." With that, she turned and walked out.

Once she left, Chloe turned back to the two and said, "Let's go. We're going down now." She always disliked having important guests. Whenever they came, it would disrupt the tranquility of the entire establishment.
