Chapter 32: Chapter 32
Facing these sympathetic looks, Flora just smiled and lowered her head, playing with a small cat by her feet. Just as she had squatted down, Nancy's loud voice rang out from behind.
"Flora! You finally managed to get up from that luxurious bed?! I was about to come and fetch you if you didn't!"
Flora startled, quickly stood up from the ground without looking back at Nancy, and looked around for something to do. After a while, Nancy got tired of scolding and left, telling Flora that she'd better not pretend to be lazy.
The maids noticed that Flora's hand was still injured, so they only assigned her the lightest tasks. Flora ended up folding and tidying clothes, not able to do any physically demanding work.
In the evening, Flora entered Oliver's room and heard the sound of rushing water coming from the bathroom. She hurriedly went to the closet, intending to arrange the clothes before he came out. As she passed by the glass table, her gaze was suddenly drawn to the laptop screen and specifically the necklace pattern displayed on it.
She couldn't help herself but walk over, squatting in front of the computer and closely examining the necklace in the picture. Wasn't this the necklace that both Oliver and Maxwell were eager to get from her?
It had an old-fashioned design, with a large heart-shaped pendant, the necklace she had lost interest in after wearing it for two or three days. But now, it seemed like something that the two brothers fought to obtain. Flora was curious about the magical allure of this necklace. Just as she was about to read the description below, the bathroom door suddenly opened.
Flora was startled, quickly stood up, and awkwardly looked at Oliver. At that moment, Oliver was only wrapped in a white towel, his damp hair hanging on his forehead. His toned and sexy chest was incredibly attractive. When Oliver turned to the side, the blue dragon tattoo seemed to appear and disappear.
Flora shook her head, annoyed at herself for always thinking of Maxwell every time she saw Oliver. Because at this moment, he looked exactly like how Maxwell used to violate her. They were practically the same person!
"I... I brought the clothes," Flora stammered awkwardly, even though she knew he was Oliver, the gentle and refined Oliver. But at this moment, she still felt afraid of him, or more precisely, afraid of the blue dragon tattooed on his back.
Every time Maxwell got up from her body, she would see it, with its jaws wide open, as if it was telling her that everything went smoothly. She couldn't understand why the gentle and considerate Oliver would have such a terrifying dragon tattoo on his back. It didn't suit him at all!
In a daze, Flora instinctively felt the darkness closing in, and Oliver had already come to stand in front of her. Flora took a step backward, gazing up at his calm expression.
Oliver sensed her fear of him and stayed silent, reaching out his right hand to grab her left hand. As he grabbed her, the neatly folded clothes in Flora's hand scattered onto the floor.
"Is the wound okay?" Oliver gently stroked the bandage on her wound with his thumb, his eyes fixed on her. "If it's not healed yet, don't rush to work. Take a few more days to rest." His tone carried a subtle command mixed with concern.
Just like every time he showed concern for her, a hint of gratitude surged in Flora's heart. She withdrew her hand from his and nodded, saying, "Thank you for your concern, Second Young Master. I'm much better now."
"Is that so?" A hint of mockery appeared at the corner of Oliver's mouth, surprising Flora.
Did he already sense that she was lying? Or did he know that her wound, which was aggravated by Maxwell the day before, had reopened and had not healed at all?
Flora didn't speak again, squatting down to pick up the clothes from the floor.
Oliver watched her series of movements, realizing that her hands were not nimble, yet she insisted on doing it herself. A feeling of either sympathy or pity emerged from his heart.
Annoyed, he growled, "That's enough! Go back to bed and don't move around if you're fine!"
Flora suddenly froze, looking at this gentle and refined man who suddenly got angry. Why did he suddenly lose his temper? Even though his tone was harsh, she could sense that it was his way of showing concern, a different form of concern.
"Alright, goodnight, Second Young Master." After putting the clothes in the wardrobe, Flora bid Oliver goodnight and glanced at the computer screen before heading towards the door. When she reached the door, she mustered the courage to turn her head and asked hesitantly, "Second Young Master, may I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead," Oliver returned to his usual gentleness and looked at her indifferently, waiting for her to speak. While Flora hesitated, he turned and went to the water dispenser to pour water.
When he turned back to face Flora again, Flora gathered her courage and said, "Second Young Master, could you please put on some clothes first?"
"Why?" Oliver's face revealed a wicked smile as he playfully looked at her, thinking that she asked because she was feeling embarrassed.
Flora wasn't asking him to put on clothes because of that. She gazed at him and said, "I'm afraid of the tattoo on your back. I'm afraid to see it."
"It seems like you've seen it many times," Oliver taunted, watching her face turn instantly red. He laughed wickedly, and in that expression, he really resembled Maxwell.
While teasing her, Oliver still cooperatively picked out a robe from the wardrobe and draped it over himself. He returned to Flora's side with a smile and said, "Alright, you can ask your question now."
Flora sighed with relief, grateful for his cooperation. She glanced at the computer screen, which was already in a locked state, and said, "I want to know what kind of mystery that necklace holds and why you've been wanting to obtain it."
Not only him, but Maxwell also wanted it. If it were just an ordinary platinum necklace, it wouldn't have so many followers.
