Chapter 21: Chapter 21

"What are you muttering about?" Robin couldn't hear clearly and leaned his little head closer to her.

"Nothing!" Flora shook her head, suddenly worried about what would come next.

The Madame? Joshua Smith??

Goodness gracious! What kind of family is this, so complicated!

Flora turned her head to look outside the restaurant and saw that Nancy was busy with something else. She then began her tactic of extracting information from Robin and asked, "Joshua... Is he the Third Brother you always talk about?"

Robin hesitated for a moment and chuckled, "No, Third Brother's name is Richard Smith, Joshua is my cousin." As soon as Joshua was mentioned, Robin became excited and exclaimed, "Cousin Joshua is very nice to me! He often takes me to the amusement park to play, and takes me to eat delicious food, and takes me to..."

"All right, all right, I know he's good to you," Flora interrupted, not at all interested in hearing him enumerate Joshua's virtues. Joshua was indeed a caring man, she admitted, though a bit messy in his personal life.

Joshua was originally an only child, how could she think he was the Third Young Master of the Smith Family? Flora secretly cursed herself for being stupid, always confusing the identities of the young masters in this family.

She had originally wanted to ask more questions, but Flora's gaze suddenly caught a glimpse of Nancy's figure appearing and disappearing in the living room. She had to hold back and decided to hide in the backyard after tidying up the restaurant.

Hiding in the laundry room, Flora silently planned in her mind. If she could find an excuse not to go to the front yard anymore, she wouldn't. Although she didn't know what kind of person Mrs. Smith would be, she didn't want to see Joshua! Since she had no relationship with him anymore, she would avoid him as much as possible!

The most important thing was that the closure of the Smith Family Group was somewhat suspicious. Given Maxwell's hatred towards her, this matter certainly wasn't as simple as it seemed on the surface. However, she couldn't figure out what exactly went wrong and what her connection was to the closure of the Smith Family Group. Why would Maxwell claim that it was her fault?

She simply broke off the engagement during the closure of the Smith Family Group. Was it unforgivable? Did she have to endure Maxwell's cruel abuse and revenge like this? Even if someone wanted to hate her, it should be Joshua's matter!

Approaching eleven o'clock, Flora, who had been on edge, heard the sound of a car approaching from a distance. Her body trembled, and her gaze passed through the colorful flowers and plants in the garden, seeing a luxurious sedan slowly coming to a stop.

A row of maids and servants, following Nancy's instructions, stood respectfully on both sides to welcome the guests. Afraid of being caught by Nancy, Flora quickly turned and slipped into the glass flower shop.

In front of the main house, as soon as the car came to a stop, a male servant walked up and opened the door, bowing respectfully and saying, "Greetings, Madam, Young Master Joshua, and Second Young Master."

"Hmm, hello." Mrs. Smith smiled and nodded at him, extending her hand, and placing it on his shoulder as she exited the car. Then she turned back and instructed, "Be careful not to touch Joshua's wound."

"Yes." The servant was curious about how Joshua suddenly became injured but dared not show his curiosity. He took the wheelchair out of the trunk and helped Joshua out of the car and onto the wheelchair.

After everyone had gotten out of the car, the servants smiled and said in unison, "Welcome back, Madam, and Young Master Joshua."

Mrs. Smith was amused by this group of people and pointed her index finger at Nancy with a smile. She chuckled, "Nancy, it's another one of your tricks, isn't it? You're playful." Then she glanced at everyone and said with a smile, "You all have worked hard. Nancy, bring out the gifts from the trunk and distribute them to everyone."

"Yes, Madam." Nancy walked towards the trunk with a smile.

In this joyous moment, Nancy naturally didn't notice Flora intentionally trying to avoid attention. Flora was considered lucky!

In contrast to Mrs. Smith's joyful mood, Joshua Smith sat in the wheelchair with a frustrated expression on his face. His face, not too handsome but full of masculine qualities, was now exuding a fierce aura. To suddenly become disabled overnight, nobody could accept this reality, so it's no wonder he became strange!

The group headed towards the house, and Mrs. Smith asked Nancy, who was following closely behind, "Will the Big Young Master be coming back today?"

"He will. I just called the Big Young Master. He said he'll come back after finishing his work to have dinner with you and Young Master Joshua." Nancy relayed the message she had heard during her call to Maxwell.

Mrs. Smith thought for a moment and said sympathetically, "Give the Big Young Master a call. If he's busy, let him be. He doesn't necessarily have to come back today to have dinner with us. It's a five-hour drive from W City, too tiring."

"Madam, I understand," Nancy replied.

Joshua, who had not spoken a word, suddenly spoke up, "It's only a five-hour drive. Let Maxwell come back. We haven't had a drink together in a long time." As he mentioned this, Joshua's face finally showed a less hostile expression.

Mrs. Smith looked at him and scolded, "The doctor just told you yesterday when you were discharged that you can't drink. How did you forget? We've already made Maxwell and Oliver restless. Do you want to bother them even more?"

Oliver had flown back from England specifically to welcome them as they returned to the country.

Maxwell was even busier, taking care of everything for them and being overwhelmed with work. The two brothers were also busy cleaning up the mess of the Smith Family Group caused by Joshua.
