Chapter 203: Chapter 203

In a pub, Philip walked straight towards the corner. After a day and night of searching, his men finally found Chiyoko's figure in this pub and promptly rushed over.

On the corner sofa, the beautiful woman leaning against the armrest was indeed Chiyoko, her eyes somewhat glazed, appearing a bit intoxicated. The man who had been continuously urging her to drink, sitting across from her, saw the menacing Philip and hastily abandoned his drink, making a run for it.

"Hey, Gustave, don't go..." Chiyoko called out to the departing man, then muttered under her breath as she watched him flee, "Useless!"

When she turned her gaze back, she happened to see Philip's grim expression. She smiled faintly, "You're here? I was just about to find you. Help me book a ticket back to Japan, the sooner, the better..."

"Why do you want to go back to Japan? Can't make it in the Smith Family anymore?" Philip sneered at her with a scornful tone.

Chiyoko hiccupped lightly, seemingly displeased with his words. She coldly retorted, "Who said that? I just want to change the game style. Just wait and see, Maxwell will personally come to Japan to pick me up."

"Relying on our child?" Philip raised an eyebrow, trying to suppress the anger rising within him.

Hearing his words, Chiyoko's heart skipped a beat. She then looked at him, wondering how he knew. Did Maxwell tell him? Biting her lip, she lowered her head, pretending to be drunk, and remained silent.

However, Philip didn't give her the chance to pretend. He grabbed her arm and pulled her up from the chair, glaring at her as he asked coldly, "Where's the child?"

Even though Kevin had already told him that Chiyoko had aborted the child, he still clung to a tiny hope that Kevin might be lying, and Chiyoko wouldn't be so malicious.

"Child? What child?" Chiyoko continued to feign innocence, enduring the pain coming from her arm as she looked at him and asked.

Philip was infuriated; he bellowed at her, "Are you still pretending with me? Did you abort our child?" His grip tightened, anger rising, and his face grew even darker.

However, Chiyoko never feared him. With her status, she had no reason to fear someone working for the Yota Gang.

Struggling with her arm and taunting, she said, "Did you think I would bear this illegitimate child? My dear, with your status, do you think you're qualified to have me bear your child?"

"Why did you get pregnant with my child then? Just to deceive Maxwell?" Philip recalled the intimacy during the kidnapping of Flora. Her tenderness and initiative—all premeditated!

"Now that you know, why bother asking? Yes, I used you. So, even if I get Maxwell, I'll never let the child come into this world!" In other words, even if she didn't get rid of the child, she would have aborted it herself.

Maxwell wasn't a fool; a blood test after the child's birth would reveal everything.

"Chiyoko Tokugawa." Philip's voice trembled with anger as he glared at her. "I never expected you to be so malicious. I truly don't understand where I fell short, for you to be this cruel."

"Do you think you've treated me well?" Chiyoko sneered. "We were just using each other. I asked you to help me deal with Flora, but you failed every time. I can't see any value in using you anymore!"

Even if he didn't love her, he couldn't tolerate this kind of insult. Philip took a deep breath and said coldly, "Chiyoko, don't forget we have an agreement with Maxwell. Aren't you afraid I'll tell Chairman Itou everything?"

This was the only way to deal with her, to retaliate against her. However, the consequences would be dire for him as well. So, he wouldn't resort to this unless necessary. It was more of a threat than an intention to carry it out.

To his surprise, Chiyoko seized on this psychological vulnerability. She showed no worry on her face, only a mocking smile. "Sure, go ahead and tell him. Let's see if Uncle believes you or believes me."

As she spoke, Chiyoko leaned forward, observing him closely, and blew air on his face. "Darling, do you think Uncle doesn't know about our affair? He just turns a blind eye because he knows I don't want to dissolve the engagement with Maxwell. I am his family, understand?"

Philip was stunned, staring at her in shock, his face turning ashen. "What are you saying?"

"I'm saying..." Chiyoko deliberately smiled vaguely, her voice soft, "You're finished. Daring to sleep with me, Chiyoko Tokugawa, your good days are over. Uncle won't spare you."

Philip's heart trembled, and he asked with a shaky voice, "You did it willingly. I didn't force you, did I? Why don't you explain it to Chairman Itou?"

He was desperate. He knew what kind of person Itou Tokugawa was, and he would not be lenient. If he discovered the affair between Philip and Chiyoko, Philip couldn't bear to think about the consequences.

"When did I ever volunteer for this?" Chiyoko raised an eyebrow, casting a disdainful look at him. "You have no idea how painful it is every time you press down on me, enter my body. I wish I could stab you twice and never have to see you again. Can you even imagine what that kind of pain feels like?"

Indeed, if she didn't need his help, she would never have had any physical intimacy with a man like him. There were plenty of men in the world better than him; her taste hadn't stooped so low.

Unfortunately, she had given away her body, and she also had a fall, which would likely prevent her from being able to conceive in the future. She hadn't obtained anything she desired. How could her heart possibly find balance? How could she not harbor resentment?

"Miss Chiyoko..." Philip urgently reached out to grab her small hand, pleading, "You can't do this. Chairman Itou will kill me. You know his temper!"

"I can't wait to see how he deals with you!" Chiyoko sneered, pulling her hand away from his. She stood up, walking unsteadily toward the exit of the PUB.

Left behind with a face full of worry and frustration, Philip stood still. He was already regretting getting involved with such a malicious woman. Besides regret, what else could he do? It seemed like there was nothing left to do!

Flora woke up to find Maxwell no longer beside her. She reached out and felt the cold emptiness next to her. A sudden panic swept through her as she hastily sat up, scanning the entire room for him.

After searching the entire master bedroom without finding Maxwell, she turned around and saw him, looking radiant, entering through the door. Touched, Flora rushed towards him and threw herself into his arms. She tightly embraced his neck, and anxious tears streamed down her face, falling onto his neck.

Maxwell, bemused by her actions, gently embraced her and kissed her. "What's wrong? What's got you so worked up? You're going to be a mom in a little over a month, and you're still so nervous."

His tender tone revealed indulgence, savoring the simple happiness of waking up to her, holding her, and allowing her to act capriciously in his arms. Perhaps, this was the essence of happiness.

"Ugh, why do you always get up and disappear so early? I thought you were gone again..." Flora complained, her nose sniffing as she playfully pounded on his back.

Maxwell cupped her face, wiping away a few tears with his fingertips, and chuckled, "Darling, I have to work. If I sleep in every day with you, who will earn money to support you and the baby?"

Seeing how dependent she had become on him, Maxwell felt a mix of joy and concern. Being too clingy could make her suffer, like now, feeling insecure and panicky.

"Well... I just don't want to wake up and not see you." It felt terrible not to see him. When he wasn't around, her heart felt empty, spinning in anxious circles.

"What should we do about that?" Maxwell gazed at her in distress. It was indeed a problem!

Flora pouted and thought for a moment before saying, "I want you to promise me that you won't leave me again, that you won't disappear in front of me." Her heart was so uneasy, and she needed his promise.

But would a promise really work? She wasn't sure, but she couldn't ask Maxwell not to go to work and stay home with her every day. The company was always so busy, and it couldn't function without him!

"My dear, it's always you who leaves me, disappears in front of me." Maxwell innocently smiled at her.

"That's because you forced me away!" Flora retorted.

"Okay, it's all my fault." Maxwell generously took all the blame upon himself, using his fingertips to sweep away the strands of hair on her cheek. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Once I finish handing over the current work, I'll dedicate myself to waiting for the baby to be born with you, how about that?" It felt good to wake up and see her, to hold her, just like now. Perhaps, this was the essence of happiness.

This tempting proposal delighted Flora at first, but after a moment's thought, she shook her head firmly, giving up. "No, forget it. Your work is so busy; let's prioritize work."

"I can delegate some work to Darren and do a bit from home when you don't need me." Maxwell shrugged nonchalantly, his decision taking root in his heart.

Flora sighed inwardly. She needed him every minute and every second, but she couldn't express that sentiment. She didn't want to disturb his work, knowing that the current Maxwell would cater to her every request!

"Big Young Master, Miss Flora, Mrs. Smith is calling you to come downstairs for breakfast." The maid's voice echoed at the door.

Flora was startled, staring in surprise at the maid standing there. Mrs. Smith was calling her to have breakfast downstairs? How could that be?

She was someone Mrs. Smith wouldn't even deign to look at, let alone invite to the same table for breakfast. Previously, Maxwell had the maid bring breakfast to their room to avoid any conflict between them.

"You should go and eat; otherwise, you'll be late for work." Flora nudged Maxwell, urging him. Quite naturally, she thought the maid must have misunderstood or misspoken.

"Haven't you heard? She called us to go down together." Maxwell smiled and spoke, "I didn't make a mistake, right? As long as we slowly resolve the misunderstandings, Auntie will still be the rational person she has always been."

"But..." Flora was about to argue, but Maxwell, holding her waist, walked toward the door, saying, "Let's go!"

Flora still couldn't believe it; in reality, she was more inclined to escape. Facing Mrs. Smith was the thing she had always feared the most, even more than facing Chiyoko.

However, judging by the current situation, she couldn't avoid it, but she still persistently pushed his arm, saying, "You go ahead. I haven't washed my face or brushed my teeth yet. I'll join you after I'm done."

Maxwell let go of her and sat back on the sofa, saying, "It's okay, I'll wait for you to go down together."

Flora rolled her eyes and had no choice but to enter the bathroom and quickly freshen up. After finishing, she walked with him to the first-floor dining room.

The dining room was unusually lively, with everyone present except Oliver, including Joshua, whom Flora least wanted to see.

Joshua's first glance at Flora still carried a disdainful expression, and he continued to eat without paying attention to her. Mrs. Smith, though somewhat unable to face Flora, gestured gently for her to sit.

Richard and Robin were the most enthusiastic, chattering incessantly the moment they saw Flora, making Maxwell feel a hint of jealousy in his heart. However, he couldn't show it too explicitly here, so he pretended nonchalantly to help Flora sit.

Flora sat next to Maxwell and noticed that her breakfast was different from others, clearly a specially prepared nutritious meal for pregnant women. She wondered if this gesture was from Mrs. Smith or Maxwell. A subtle warmth crossed her nervous heart.

The feeling of being cared for is always particularly delightful, especially for someone like her who has been neglected since childhood!

After finishing breakfast, the young masters of the Smith Family went to work, and Flora played with Robin for a while before returning to the bedroom.

Thinking that today was the day Kevin was going abroad, it was necessary to call and say goodbye. So, she picked up the phone on the bedside table and dialed his number.

After several rings, someone finally answered the phone. Kevin' cheerful voice came through, "Darling, I'm in a meeting. What do you need?"

Flora wouldn't bother him if it wasn't important, so he asked directly.

"Oh? You're in a meeting? We can chat later then," Flora apologized, about to hang up the phone when she heard Kevin' urgent voice on the other end, "Wait, Flora."

"What's wrong?" Flora was confused. Wasn't he in a meeting? Why wasn't he hanging up?

Kevin smiled and said, "It's rare to receive your call, so naturally, I don't want to hang up. Tell me, what do you need?"

"Well... I don't need anything. I just wanted to call and say goodbye since you're going to Germany today, and also thank you for your help before... By the way, why are you still in a meeting? What time is your flight?"

"Well, some last-minute issues came up at work, so I'm rescheduling my flight for next week," Kevin laughed uneasily. It seemed like his trip to Germany had been delayed and rescheduled many times already. But he couldn't help it. He just couldn't leave without ensuring the safety of the Smith Family and Flora's happiness.

Flora naturally sensed his discomfort and couldn't help but chuckle. "If you keep postponing, you might not be able to go to Germany until next year. Actually, W City is nice too. Why not just stay?"

After hearing her words, Kevin felt a bit pleased. Although her suggestion to stay was just as friends, he was still happy. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Thank you for your sincere invitation. In gratitude for your kind gesture, I have a gift for you."

"What gift? I don't want anything too cliché," Flora casually said. Perhaps the gift was just mentioned in passing, and she didn't expect Kevin to have a gift for her.

Besides, if he really did give her a gift and it was seen by Maxwell, the ever-jealous one, he would surely be driven to a jealous frenzy. It was better to sacrifice her desires for the sake of the family and their mutual feelings.

"I already sent it this morning. I thought you called to show your gratitude after seeing my gift," Kevin deliberately put on a disappointed tone.

If Flora paid more attention, she would have felt how painful it was for him to hold back his laughter. Unfortunately, she didn't sense anything out of the ordinary and curiously asked, "What gift? I haven't received anything yet. Maybe it will arrive this afternoon."

Kevin smirked mysteriously, "It's already there. Check your mailbox, and you'll see. I guarantee you've never seen anything like it."

"Oh, in the mailbox, huh? It must be those boring pictures and well-wishes, right?" This kind of gift is really cliché, and it's been passed around by countless people. Flora didn't even have the interest to open it.

"It's not boring at all, I guarantee you've never seen it before, and it's in high definition," Kevin enticed, with a determined look as if he wouldn't give up until he lured her in.

Flora couldn't resist her curiosity and couldn't help but want to take a look.  So she walked to the desk, opened the laptop that Maxwell specially equipped for her with lower radiation levels, logged into her mailbox, and indeed found a new email today, sent by Kevin.

She clicked on the email and discovered that there was only a link in it. Flora became even more suspicious and clicked on the link. After a few seconds, an erotic scene appeared before her eyes.

"Yah!" Flora exclaimed softly, yelling at her phone, "Kevin! What kind of lunatic are you to send me adult videos? You can enjoy that disgusting stuff yourself!" As she shouted, she slammed the laptop shut with a loud "snap," hiding those disgusting images on the computer screen. Her face turned slightly red.

Although she often had sex with Maxwell, she had never actually watched adult videos, let alone seen another man naked. When she saw that scene just now, naturally her face flushed and her heart raced.

Kevin on the other end of the phone chuckled and then said, "Flora, you're about to become a mother, and yet you still act so innocent? You're really fake. And... did you even see who the main characters in the video were?"

No, definitely not. If she had seen them, her reaction wouldn't be like this, Kevin thought to himself.
