Chapter 156: Chapter 156

"You should know that I am Maxwell's rightful fiancée!" Chiyoko reiterated this fact loudly. She was on the verge of exploding. She was Maxwell's fiancée, yet she had to watch him live with another woman.

Who could endure such a thing? Unfortunately, she had no way to deal with Maxwell. To make matters worse, Flora suddenly appeared, pregnant and highly favored!

"I know," Flora lowered her head, feeling guilty about this. She always hated women who stole other people's happiness, and unexpectedly, she became one herself. She even despised herself.

"Since you know, why don't you leave Maxwell?" Chiyoko asked indignantly.

Flora smiled bitterly, looking at her helplessly, "Miss Chiyoko, you know Maxwell won't let me leave easily. I just said you should take these questions to Maxwell! All the decisions, all the oppressive terms, it's all him!"

Chiyoko coldly assessed her and sneered, "I don't think you have any intention of leaving him, do you? You're using the bastard in your belly to tie him down. You're truly despicable!"

Flora's face stiffened, finally angered by her excessive words. Staring at her, she gritted her teeth, "Miss Chiyoko, please choose your words more carefully. Don't insult an unborn child so harshly!" She couldn't tolerate it any longer. Flora had forgotten the fact that Maxwell was her fiancé!

Chiyoko paid no attention to her anger, continuing to mock, "Isn't it? When it's born, it'll be amusing if it's not Maxwell's child. You know Maxwell's temper very well!"

"Don't worry, that unfortunate scenario will absolutely not happen," Flora confidently stated. This was true; besides Maxwell, no other man had touched her. Not even Henry, who shared the same roof with her!

Chiyoko, shocked by the firmness in her words, felt a pang. Looking at Flora's expression, it was clear that the child belonged to Maxwell. Otherwise, how could she be so confident? If the child was indeed Maxwell's, what would she do?

Gritting her teeth, Chiyoko forcefully lowered her voice, "Don't get too smug. I will not annul my engagement with Maxwell. I won't let you have your way, no matter what."

"Miss Chiyoko, you've misunderstood," Flora chuckled lightly. "I never wanted anything with Maxwell. You know I despise him the most in this lifetime. I'd love nothing more than to take the child and leave this cursed place!" Was this the truth? Why did she feel a bit choked up when she said it? Impossible, right?

"Well, that's for the best! Otherwise, I won't spare anyone who wrongs me, including Maxwell!" Chiyoko threatened harshly, although it was just an empty threat. She knew she couldn't bring herself to harm Maxwell in any way, not even a little!

Flora was indeed frightened by her words, and as she scrutinized the fierceness on Chiyoko's face, a chill ran down her spine. Chiyoko could speak with such authority, proving she had the courage for it! Yota Gang was undoubtedly her strongest support.

She believed that as long as she uttered a word, the people from Yota Gang would take care of everything for her. She had already received a clear threat, so should she be more careful?

Flora hesitated, bit her tongue, and forced herself to say, "Understood." She wanted to break free from this life as soon as possible, never having to see that beautiful yet venomous face again. However, she had no idea what awaited her. Her fate was in Maxwell's hands, so she didn't dare to answer too confidently because she might not be able to follow through.

"I hope you'll take care of yourself," Chiyoko suddenly curled her lips into a faint smile, calmly saying, "Miss Flora, I believe you can understand my feelings, right? If your fiancé did something like this, you would be very upset and angry, wouldn't you? And then you might do something impulsive. These things are forgivable, aren't they?"

After several seconds of silence, Flora nodded, uttering the word "yes." Yes, she could understand. She didn't want to be such a wicked person, but she had unintentionally become one.

Chiyoko gave her another cryptic smile, then walked out in her high heels, casually closing the door behind her. Flora stood frozen in place, looking at the closed door, then glancing at the breakfast on the table.

Did Miss Chiyoko come in just to issue these warnings? Well, people were guarding outside the door, and she didn't dare to do anything outrageous. For caution's sake, she didn't eat the breakfast on the table; she would only eat what Betty brought.
