Chapter 131: Chapter 131

"What?" Mrs. Davis, hearing him say that, stared at him in disbelief. What was he talking about?

Seeing her bewildered, Kevin lightly laughed and said, "Mom, I'm kidding. Didn't you see it? I'm fine!"

"Oh..." Mrs. Davis finally breathed a sigh of relief, patting her chest and murmuring to herself, "As long as you're okay. You scared me to death!"

Kevin glanced at the messy room, apologizing, "Mom, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stand you up. Something happened on the way, so..."

"Oh, it's a relief you came back safely. Are you hungry? Come, have something to eat." Mrs. Davis pulled him to sit on the sofa.

After the scare, she realized how important Kevin was to her. She had long treated him as her own son, and the Davis family needed him. She couldn't afford to lose him! Suddenly realizing her foolishness, she had been idiotic enough to use her son as a pawn, attempting to use him to retaliate against the Smith Family! Revenge was necessary, but she couldn't drag Kevin down, or she might easily lose him. After all, he was the Smith Family's flesh and blood!

"Kevin, let's go back to Germany." Mrs. Davis, watching Kevin enjoy the snacks, suddenly blurted out. She had figured it out; she would handle the revenge on her own. She didn't want Kevin to have any more connections with the Smith Family!

Kevin was taken aback, not expecting Mrs. Davis to say this, and he didn't understand why she wanted to leave when they had been living well in W City.

"Mom, can we wait for a while? I can't leave right now. How about I send you back first and then I come back to W City?" Kevin asked with a smile. Deep down, he suddenly felt an attachment to something, making him unwilling to leave!

"No, I'll stay here with you." Mrs. Davis replied quickly, though feeling anxious. Every time before, Kevin would casually say it didn't matter wherever they stayed. This time, he wanted to stay a bit longer. Why?

A strong feeling suddenly surged within her, fearing that the Smith Family might take him back! Oh no! What had she been doing before? She foolishly used her son as a bargaining chip, trying to make use of him to get back at the Smith Family! She must have gone crazy!

"Well, wait for me to finish my work, and then I'll accompany you back." Kevin comforted with a smile, "Mom, it's late. You should go upstairs and rest."

"Okay, you should get some rest too." Mrs. Davis nodded, feeling complicated as she walked upstairs. When she looked back at Kevin, who was enjoying his snacks with gusto, she shook her head, sighed, and continued up the stairs.

Early the next morning, Maxwell returned to his bedroom with dissatisfaction. He had endured a night of frustration. He intended to mistreat her when he tied her up, and now she had turned the tables, occupying his bedroom shamelessly. She stubbornly refused to leave, claiming to be an injured person. The sight of her swollen fingers only added to his irritation!

After enduring a night of frustration, he decided that he must get her out of there, or else his authority would be undermined.

Entering the bedroom, he saw the woman sleeping soundly on the bed. The bandage on her hand, having been tossed around all night, was severely disheveled. Yet, she seemed oblivious to the need for a fresh one. Maxwell frowned, staring at her fingers, and became somewhat angry! What exactly was he angry about? Was he annoyed that she couldn't take care of her wound herself?

Absolutely not! Maxwell thought indignantly. Seeing her sleep so comfortably made him extremely displeased. As he bent down to wake her up, Flora suddenly grumbled, hugging a pillow and lazily rolling towards him.

Maxwell withdrew his hand, watching her body roll like a worm. Finally, with a loud "thud," Flora fell heavily on the spot where Maxwell had just stood.

"Ouch—!" The pain made Flora whimper, her little face wrinkling up. Overwhelmed by drowsiness, she couldn't even open her eyelids. Patting the pillow that had rolled down with her, she mumbled, "Baby, are you okay? If you're fine, let's continue sleeping..."

Her voice grew smaller and smaller, and she fell asleep again.

Maxwell's smile flashed across his face. He used his leg to give her small foot a nudge and, with a resentful tone, shouted, "Miss Flora! Do you intend to stay lying down forever?"

Hearing this terrifying voice, Flora instantly crawled up from the floor, looking around in confusion. When she saw Maxwell, she instinctively shrunk back, ignoring the pain in her startled hand. Fearfully looking at Maxwell, she couldn't help but scold, "Hey! Why did you kick me off the bed?"

Certainly, it was him. Otherwise, she wouldn't have rolled off such a large bed and hurt her hand. While blowing on her fingers and shivering, she maintained a stubborn appearance and complained, "Ugh... it's exhausting!"

Maxwell raised an eyebrow, glaring at her, without defending himself. Instead, he indignantly said, "You took over my bed. Shouldn't I kick you off?"

"You broke my fingers, and you won't even let me sleep in your bed for a few days. Are you even a man?" Flora used every means to argue, as long as she didn't have to go back to the third floor. At least on the second floor, she could feel some human presence, even if it was all cold.

"Whether I'm a man or not, don't you know?" Maxwell felt that he absolutely could not let this woman continue to bully him. He wrapped his arm around her waist and headed towards the door.

"Hey! What are you doing? I don't want to go... My hand hurts... I'm injured!" Flora urgently screamed, struggling forcefully. However, in front of his tall and sturdy figure, her resistance was futile.

"Even if you have your last breath, get out of this bedroom!" Maxwell announced without hesitation. Was she injured? What did her broken hand have to do with him? It's not like it was his hand that was broken!

"You bastard! Let me go! I don't want to go to the third floor!" Flora desperately grabbed the doorknob, holding it tightly. Grabbing the doorknob, her hand, due to excessive force, probably reopened the wound. Blood seeped through the white gauze, turning it a shocking crimson.

Yet, Flora remained oblivious, her mind consumed by the fear of going up to the third floor. Panicking, she shouted, "Maxwell! You freak! I told you I'm innocent with Kevin. Why won't you believe me?"

It was unfair! Why should she be imprisoned by him? Why should she remain chaste for him? He wasn't anyone to her, and besides, why wasn't he guarding his chastity? There were so many women around him!
