Chapter 108: Chapter 108
Sitting in the taxi, Linda occasionally looked back and tugged Flora's sleeve, whispering, "Hey, Flora, I feel like someone is following us."
Flora turned her head after hearing her words and glanced at the cars behind them, laughing playfully, "No way, you're just overthinking, aren't you still half asleep?"
Ignoring her teasing, Linda said, "I saw that black car when we left the village earlier, and it's still there now."
The driver in front suddenly chuckled, "It's normal to have someone following when you're beautiful. Let me help you get rid of them." As he spoke, he stepped on the gas pedal, maneuvering the car out of the traffic and forcefully merging into another lane.
The car following behind didn't expect the sudden maneuver from the driver and drove past them.
Seeing this, Linda clapped her hands and exclaimed, "Well, Mr. Driver, you're amazing! You got rid of them in an instant."
"Of course, do you know how many years I've been driving a taxi?" The driver was delighted by the praise from the beautiful lady and became quite proud. He continued to boast in the front, making the two ladies laugh heartily.
When they arrived at Lulu Bar, Flora and Linda went directly to the third floor and room 303.
Mark opened the door for them and, upon seeing them, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He gratefully said, "You finally came."
"Where's Chloe?" Flora stood on her tiptoes and looked through Mark's shoulders, immediately spotting Chloe sleeping soundly on the sofa. Rushing past Mark, she walked towards Chloe, gently shaking her arm and calling out, "Chloe, wake up. Oh my god, how did you get so drunk?"
"I'm sorry, I couldn't stop her. I let her drink too much," Mark apologized.
"We were supposed to go back to City A together tomorrow. How can we go back like this?" Linda approached and, together with Flora, helped Chloe up from the couch, patting her face to make her more alert.
Mark looked at Chloe with concern, took a deep breath, and said, "When I was entertaining clients, I accidentally saw her drinking with her friends. She was already a little tipsy at that time." Yes, he had finally managed to convince her to come back to City A with him, but she ended up like this. Tomorrow, she definitely wouldn't be in any condition to go with him!
Chloe mumbled and slurred, "Flora...help me drive the car back...you must drive it back!"
"Alright, don't worry, I'll drive it back for you." Flora took out the car keys from her bag and turned to Mark, saying, "Mr. Mark, can you help carry her out..."
"I don't want him to carry! No!" Chloe shouted.
Mark took a step forward and forcefully carried her in his arms, whispering in her ear, "Stop making a fuss, go back and rest early, be good."
Chloe completely ignored him, struggling, shouting, and crying in pain. The three of them were exhausted from dealing with her, but they finally managed to get her to sleep. It was already past two in the morning. Mark finally had the chance to carry her out and head towards the door.
"Flora, remember to drive Chloe's car back." Linda reminded her as she ran after them, worried that Chloe would wake up halfway and go crazy again.
Flora nodded and, after searching the entire room to make sure nothing was left behind, hurriedly headed downstairs. After wandering around the underground parking lot for a while, she couldn't find the red car.
Thinking that the car might be in the ground parking lot, she decided to go there. But just as she turned around, she was met with a black gun pointed at her. Flora let out a low cry of fear as she looked at the man in sunglasses in front of her.
"Get in the car." The man in sunglasses used his chin to point at the black car beside him and coldly commanded in broken English. In the dim light, she couldn't see his expression clearly, but she could sense his cruelty.
Flora's mind went blank for a moment, stammering, "Wha...what?"
Oh God! What was happening? Was she being robbed? Were they after her body or money? But she didn't have much money on her!
"Hurry up!" The man urged impatiently and also moved his finger, indicating that he would kill her if she didn't get in the car.
Flora stood frozen in place, unable to move. Seeing this, the man had to resort to a more forceful approach. He grabbed her hands and pushed her into the black car next to them. Flora let out another low cry as she struggled to get up from the seat, but the car had already sped out of the underground parking lot.
The car swiftly slid into the lane, and Flora anxiously asked, staring at the passing scenery outside the window, "Where are you taking me? Tell me, quickly!"
It was inexplicable. Why were there always so many inexplicable things happening?!
"To another world!" The man said coldly, uttering words that terrified Flora even more.
Was he taking her to her death? Why?! Who was it that wanted to kill her? Maxwell? He was the one in this world who hated her the most!
Flora looked at the increasingly unfamiliar scenery outside the window, the road with fewer and fewer cars. Fear started creeping into her heart, and the terror on her face became more evident. Twenty minutes later, the road was completely pitch black, with no other car in sight.
Flora stared at the straight road ahead. Under the glaring lights, she couldn't see the end. She suddenly wondered how there could be such a place in City W, and how she did not know it. It seemed that she knew too little about City W!
Faintly, she saw a black dot appear in front of the road, and as the car approached, the black dot became bigger and clearer. Just at the last moment, Flora recognized what it was – a black car parked horizontally in the middle of the road, and... a figure, also black.
Before Flora could see the person's face clearly, two loud bangs sounded in her ear. The sound of glass shattering mixed with the man's screams, and the screeching of the car abruptly stopped, piercing Flora's ears.
