Chapter 31: Chapter 31

You know I'm normally a clear headed person, I always thought things through, weighing my options, the pros and cons of everything. I never acted on impulse. But lately, I've been impulsive. Acting on my present emotions, not thinking of the future, all because of a certain beautiful boy. I groaned as his face flashed in my mind's eye.

I definitely did not think things through when I ran out of class and out of the school. Simply because he said he didn't like me. It hurt though.. it really did, and I don't understand why, is it supposed to hurt like this or am I different?

Rain continued to pour down on me as I walked forward, having no idea about where I was or where I was headed. I wasn't even sure about what ran down my cheek, was it tears or rain? Maybe a mixture of both.

As I trudged forward, it hit me, because a car almost hit me, swerving away from me at the last minute. The driver cursed at me as he drove away, I winced. Standing on the same spot because I was too scared to go any further. I searched my clothes, they were soaked, down to my underwear. My phone was in my bag, and I left it in the classroom right before I raced out like a crazed human.

I looked around for a familiar sight, so I'd at least know where I was. But I couldn't see anything, the rain pelted down on my glasses hard. It was hard to see even if I squinted. I removed the glasses slowly, running a hand down my face, squinting, on the other side of the road, I managed to see an inn,'Go inn' bizzarre name but okay. I checked other places, they were very unfamiliar... I didn't know where I was. I started to panic a bit.

I crossed, trying to get to the inn, hoping I would find a way phone so I'd call my mom to come pick me up. The heat from the fire place hit me as soon as I opened the door. My body shivered in delight, that's when I realized how cold I was. My shoe soaked with rain water left wet foot prints, and my clothes dripped water. I felt bad but it could not be helped.

"Hi, welcome to 'Go inn', how may we help you today?" A bored guy said over the counter. He wasn't even looking in my direction, he looked like he wanted out.

"Hello.. ca..can I use your phone?" I stuttered. My teeth clattering from the cold.

"No service." He said not looking up.

My shoulders sag, but at least I was out of the rain.

"I could help warm you up." A creepy voice said from behind.

I turned sharply, he was definitely creepy, his eyes were droopy at the sides, he had a weird smile plastered on his face and he reeked of alcohol. I took steady steps away from him.

"Is there anywhere I could stay till the rain stops? Here perhaps?" I asked the receptionist, my eyes glued on creepy.

He didn't respond, so I took my eyes off of creepy for a few seconds to glance at the receptionist, he was pointing to a peeling poster on the far end of the wall.

It read, "no sitting in the reception." My eyes snapped back to him in annoyance, that was stupid and insensitive, this was a direct situation. Before I could say anything, he pointed at another poster, this was hand written.

"No arguing with the receptionist."

I looked at him in annoyance. He never looked up.

"Like I said, I could warm you up." Creepy guy said invading my personal space. I started to get worried, if I leave, I'd be out in the rain, and I didn't have any money for a room, worse I couldn't stay here. I glanced at the receptionist, he was not looking in my direction, I got frustrated and walked out the door, embracing the cold.

I started to run, run back to the direction I came from, I didn't know where I was heading, but I knew I wanted to get away from there. I couldn't stay there one more second, because of the cold, and the creepy guy was staring at me through his window.

I bumped into something, I fell backwards as a result of the force, my butt hit the wet asphalt, my glasses few off my face, leaving me blind temporarily and helpless. My butt hurt, my fingers searched the ground for my glasses.

"Here." A very familiar voice said, he put my glasses in my open palm.

"Jo..." I whispered, stopping halfway because the words somehow got stuck in my throat.

Placing the glasses on my head, I look up, his form slowly became clear. He stood tall, a small smile played on his lips, he looked... relieved.

"Deja Vu?" He asked as he stretched out his hand for mine. I gave him mine, and he pulled me up. Leaving my heart racing five million miles per second.

"Is crying a sport for you? You seem to play it all the time." He said looking wounded.

"I wasn't crying, it's the rain." I say defensively. But my hand cleaned my cheeks. He chuckled lightly.

He suddenly pulled me to himself, hugging me. At that moment I think the whole world could hear my heart beat. I felt so happy, like I could float away any time soon. I felt at peace, content.

I felt something rough scratch at my face. I blinked.

"An elderly's rain coat?" I asked in amusement.

He laughed.

"Let's go home, you are soaking wet." He said. He shrugged off his rain coat and passed it to me. I blushed and collected it.

We walked in silence, I enjoyed it. I was content.

"How did you find me?" I asked instead of the nagging questionbi wanted to ask.

"Sheer luck." Was his response right before we got the front of my house.

"You should go in, you'll catch a cold." He said smiling softly. I nodded.

I opened the door, smiling widely.

The question I really wanted to ask was..

Why did you come find me?
