Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Joseph POV

"Would you stop that?" Lucy asked irritated. She looked about ready to combust into flames, taking me along with her.

"Stop what?" I asked as innocently as I could.

She raised a brow at me, and instantly I dropped the pencil I had been using to make tiny dots on the white sheet of paper in front of me. It was the most insignificant thing to anyone else, but to Lucy, it broke her concentration.

"Thank you." She said, her voice full of genuine gratitude.

I sit up, peering over her shoulders, as I tried to make out what she was doing, that needed her utmost concentration.

She was trying to fix something that looked like a tiny, miniature speaker, but was actually a clock.

"What is that?" I asked, not really interested.

"Ah this, this was a clock before, but while you slept, you swung your long legs and it fell to it's doom, and it's not even for me personally, it's for the club." She said her attention still on the clock, suddenly I felt bad, I got up from the sofa, and went straight to her, plucking the clock from her gingerly.

After examining it, I concluded it can't be fixed.

"I'll buy a new one.." I say not looking in her general direction.

"You better." She huffed, before moving on to something else. I hang around her awkwardly, not knowing what to say or how to say it, although I wanted to go back home to rest, I could not tell her that after destroying her stuff.

"Can you please leave? You are actually a student you know" she says with a frown.

I breath in relief, she wasn't holding it against me. Not that I could see anyways.

"But today is the first day.." I whined.

"Yes, exactly, today is the first day so you have a lot to do." She says walking across the room, her pencil skirt making it kind of difficult for her. I chuckle.

"What exactly am I missing on my first day of school?" I ask rhetorically. But either she doesn't understand the reason for a rhetorical question or she didn't care, because she answered me.

"Everything Joseph, everything, from the tour round the school, to the classes, you know it's a new school to you, you don't know how their teaching methods are, you need to adapt." She said all in one breath.

Taking a deep breath, I start my own rant, because I was not a kid, she needed to know it.

"First of my name is Joe, not Joseph, and I don't give two shits about a freaking tour, I can walk around by myself, and yeah I can definitely start classes next week, I'm sure I'd still catch up." I say smiling brightly at her, it usually worked when I wanted something, but I literally saw the right corner below her eye twitch, twice. It legit meant danger, I eased myself slowly off the desk I was leaning on, slowly but steadily creating space between us, even when I was a far distance from her, I knew she could still throw her shoe at me, just as I thought that, a pair of black heeled sandals came flying at me, I ducked out of the door, and out of the shoe's range. I heard her curse loudly. I chuckle, she got frustrated easily, at me that is.

I sighed internally, I was back out, and had to actually go to classes now. Just as I took a step forward, I heard the closing bell ring. I literally jumped for joy. I could go home now, and enjoy the serenity.

"Hey there.. are you lost? You look..lost." a voice said as I walked into the main building, away from the new journalism club building.

I ignored her, I knew it was a her from her voice, which sounded really fake, and obnoxious. She followed me, I sighed silently. I didn't acknowledge her presence, but this did not irk her in any way, I think she was even pleased. I didn't look in her direction, I just tried to go home.

"You are definitely lost." She said chuckling.

Still didn't answer, I didn't stop walking either.

"Ouuu you are the new student.. is that why you are ignoring me?" She said faking an offended tone.

I stopped, and whirled around in annoyance, ready to rain hell on her. But I stopped halfway as my eyes landed on her, she was a blonde, her eyes were clear, like the sea, she was pretty, if you could look beyond the heavy make up she applied this morning. Best of all, she was hot.. not curvy hot, but her chest was really blessed, if it was real or not.. I actually didn't care. She snapped her fingers in my face, I let my eyes linger on the chest first, really low, I know, but it was out in the open, barely any cloth there. When my eyes got to her eyes, her lips formed a knowing smirk. I decided not to beat around the bush, she knew her stuff.

"Joseph Wilson, call me Joe."

"Debbie, call me... whenever you want." She whispered softly into my ears. I think I'm loving this school already.

"I know you are new and will have a hard time adjusting, but trust me, I will be of help to you, whatever you want..." She said looking me in the eye and biting her lip too seductively. The bulge in my pants told me that I'd love this school.

"I'll start by giving you a tour.." she said hooking half of her body, mainly her upper body on mine, I was not going to complain.

She said really lame jokes as we walked, making me fake laugh so she won't deny me all of that.

Suddenly we stopped, she smiled brightly at the students in front of us, I didn't pay attention to any of them.

I was not going to look till I felt someone glare at me, I raised my eyes up, I met a set sea blue eyes, really really beautiful sea blue eyes, they were big and round and glaring at me. I frowned, did she know me before? Why was she glaring? Her face looked familiar, but I didn't know where I met her...

I felt Debbie drag me away from there, I wanted to turn back, because I still felt the heated glare in my back.

"Who is she?" I asked still not turning back.

"Who? The living breathing candy,? She is my arch nemesis.. the student body president." She said her voice slightly annoyed.

Then I remembered..

"Get a grip good heavens!!"

I face palmed. She was mad about that? And wait, she is the student body president??
