Damian's POV

Who would believe that father would even give us a listening ear when it came to this sort of issue

Father,I don't know why but I feel that xina has been the leak in the clan" I say to him trying as much as i could to convince him totally

Both Oliver and I had told him the story that had been passed from Lola to Kate to us and now to my father, but just as we've always known him to be he wouldn't agree with our conclusions

And moreover father, xina seems to have a hand with all the misfortunes that's been happening to Kate lately"

Oliver chipped in agreement with me

The both of you do know that I have every reason not to believe you, firstly because you might both be looking for a way to liquidate the marriage and secondly because you like that human girl and you're trying to side her"

My father replied directing his replies mostly to me

I was about saying something else when a voice interrupted me

It's not a lie your highness"

A lady walked in as she addressed my father

I know am not the only one who smelt wolf blood around her but for some reasons I decided to keep my cool

And who are you to barge into a private meeting between the king and his sons?" My father questioned his voice clearly getting overwhelmed with anger

Both Oliver and I exchanged glances,we only hope this lady has a good reason for being here else she'd be dead in the next few minutes

I ask for forgiveness your majesty,but my name is Lola and I'm the girl who told the story to Katerina"

She replied him as a matter of fact

For a few minutes,the full room was dead silent from the impact of the girls words but father

broke the silence first

And why should I believe you"

My father asked her corking his head to that annoying stance that Oliver and I had both hated while growing up

You don't have to believe your highness,but the fact that we know every weakness of the vampires and your stances all thanks to xina should be enough proof to you"

She replied father with that aura that could have been likened with that of Kate

Her saying that broke hell for dad

Get all the vampires to find that backstabber and bring her here,and if she's forceful,he who gets her heart out first gets a reward"

He snarled beneath his breath directing the order at both Oliver and I

And you wolf,why come here when you know you could be killed?"

Father asked Lola turning to face her

I took the risk because a young lady told me that doing something right even though it's scary is the bravest that one could do,in other words your highness,I didn't do it for you I did it for Katerina"

She replied father with a finality that seemed to say no more questions

Feeling defeated,father just walked out of the room with the order of us going to capture xina and bring her back dead or alive

I say to her turning to give her a grateful smile

It's fine, Kate inspired me,so where is the tigress anyway?"

She asked giving a smile to Oliver

She's in the chamber probably resting, we'll take you to her" Oliver replied moving backwards making way for her

I can't help but smile at the forbidden chemistry that might begin to happen between the both of them

They keep talking and talking till we get to the door, and then Lola stops

Are you sure she's in there??" She asked turning to look at me

I can't help but wonder what she means with that question

Of course she's in there, we left her there a couple of minutes ago"

Oliver answered her turning to open the door

She's not in there,I can't smell her"

Then trying to keep Lola in her doubts we open the door to tell Lola " told you she was in here" but instead we're in shock

Katerina is really not in here and there are signs of a struggle,the bed sheets are ripped at a corner and there's blood stains on the floor

Xina was in here"

Lola said to me keeping her nose up in the air trying to sniff out God knows what

If xina was in here,then she took Kate but to where?" Oliver asked directing his question to nobody in particular

I can barely think right now,my senses are just racing and hurling at themselves

I can track her,I know her scent,I'll just use it in tracking her,and my good lead starts from that window"

She replies Oliver moving to the window

We all climb down,but she stops for a second trying to catch Katerina scent and moves in the direction where the scent is stronger

We're right behind Lola hoping that nothing happens to Kate and my child else I'll be the one killing xina myself....

Kate's POV

My head feels as if a thousand devils are having a disco party right now

I try standing up but I can't,both my legs are tied and so is my hands

Well well well,if it isn't little miss " I'm so fearless" A voice mocked at me

I'd know that voice anywhere, although it's been a while but I know that voice like the back of my hand

I snarled underneath my breath

I'm so angry right now,that I wish she's just free me and we'd have a fair fight,I would rip her to pieces

I see you're awake, well it's a good thing for you,you should probably look at the world one last time before you die"

She said to me smiling at me evily

Within this time,I had stopped trying to free myself and I was totally oblivious of my surroundings

What do you mean by that? What did I ever do to you to deserve you killing me?"

I yell at her with anger getting the better part of me

You see Kate,you came into this world as a prisoner but now you're starting to be like a queen, and it all goes wrong for you when you start falling for my guy and he falls for you in return"

She said to me going on and on

I don't know why she's all bittered that Damian likes me and not her

It's not my fault he doesn't like you xina, besides you had all the time to make him love you but he didn't"

I spat angrily at her but it only earned me a slap that had blood dripping from my mouth

You could have saved yourself all this trouble and saved yourself when the king asked you to leave but oh no, you had to be brave and start poking your nose in my affairs, I didn't have much venom to kill you Kate but I did to stop you from getting my spot and to stop that trash growing in your tummy"

She answered me still pacing around in anger

But it wasn't her anger that got to me,it was her statement,what did she mean by " trash growing in my tummy?"

But then it made sense,maybe this was what Damian wanted to tell me but was too distraught to say, I'm pregnant and xina knows that why she's so hell bent on killing me

Oh could my life get any worse?"

I whisper underneath my breath but apparently she heard me

Oh don't give up yet Kate, it's not time for that, when you look down you'll see that you're above a well filled with water"

She said to me still having that sickening smile on her face

I know if I'm to have any chance of surviving I'm gonna have to keep playing her on and on in hope that Damian will get here in time to save me,that is if he has realized that I'm missing

So?"

I question her acting as if I'm not freaking out whereas I'm totally peeing in my pants

I always hated your guts Kate, I know what you're trying to do,you're trying to stall but that won't work cos you see that well is filled with vervain, and if you've researched well you should know that vervain and vampires don't mix, so I'll cut the rope in my hands and it takes you down into that well, your legs and hands are tied you can't breathe, no one to save you, it rounds up to one thingYou die!!"

She concluded feeling very good with her plans

I can't help but feel despair,she really has thought about all this before executing her plans, and now I'm gonna die without having the perfect life and family I've always dreamed of

Look xina,can't we work this out, violence doesn't solve everything you know"

I say to her in a bid to create sympathy for myself

Kate just say your last words,you've three seconds"

She said to me ignoring my previous statement

Katerina"!!!!

Both xina and I turn to look in the direction of the voice to see that it's Damian and Oliver and hold up, Lola??

But they're at the far end of the mountain,they'll be too late to save me

I look up to see the furious glare on Xina's face

No one saves you now bitch" She spat angrily at me

Goodbye Katerina, happy riddance"

Saying just that she cut the rope, sending me deep into the well with my hands and legs tied with a bunch of vervains underneath, no one to help or save me

I struggle for a few moments but start to give in,I can't hold my breath any longer and my eyes starts to close as I feel myself drift into an unending darkness...

☠Damian's POV☠

We had been running for a few hours but Lola suddenly stopped by the mountain side, moving steadily

She suddenly stops and gasps,turns to us and points at something that we can't see, I edge closer and there she is

Kate is tied up by the vervain well with xina standing close to her

Katerina!!!"

I yell and it gets both the attention of xina and Kate

I know what xina is trying to do, we all know what she has in mind and we start racing towards them

But we're too late,Xina cuts the rope and Kate is down there dying and I can't go in else I'll die with her

She's taken care of damian,now we can be toge..."

Xina starts to say but stops short as my hands are deep within her chest and I pull out her heart

I hate you xina" I curse at her

She slumps to the floor her eyes still open looking at the world, she can't hurt anybody anymore, she can't plan evil again cos she's dead

I turn to see Lola with Kate's body in her arms, vervain doesn't affect wolves, but Kate is there

She's white as snow, I try mouth to mouth on her,but it's hopeless

She's dead"

I whisper to myself in pain

I feel my heart breaking into pieces,I'll never heal from this pain

Katerina is dead and it's all my fault....
