Chapter 74: Chapter 74
“Calm down, feisty cat. I'll tell you everything. But just tell me how you feel. Are you all right, babe?” he asked and gulped down the glass of water. Avril sighed and held her forehead.
“I'm fine now. Woke up with a piercing headache but it's better after I took water,” she answered. Dakar walked to her and held her arm.
“You fainted yesterday,” he revealed and she furrowed her brows.
“Why?”
“Took you to my room and the doctors said you were not resting yourself enough. The drugs administered to you are having psychological effects. Your body temperature ran crazy and you turned red. Baby, you need to calm down.”
Avril snatched her hand off Dakar's.
“I'm guessing you went without me yesterday,” she stated with a frown. He exhaled and crossed his arms.
“Are you just returning?” she asked again and he nodded. She crossed her arms too and looked away from him. She couldn't believe that her plan had failed. She really wanted to send that message to Tijuana above even going to see Luca Aguero. Would she have that chance again? They deserved to know that she and the girls were fine. They had taken care of them for two years and would be worried if they didn't even know what happened to them. It would have been better if they knew about their death than worrying if they were alive or not.
“I burnt ten of his properties because he came late. He was so angry he sent men to other properties of mine but I already had my men there waiting and had evacuated all the civilians. Well, his men were taken and are presently still in my hideout,” Dakar explained.
“And Luca?” Avril inquired with a raised brow.
“He met with me this morning. Angry and threatening to kill me. I asked him gently why he was after you and he laughed.”
“Laughed?”
“Said I was just being twirled around a woman's finger. That you were just using me to hide from him. And it was none of my business so I should stay away. Because when you're done with me and leave me for dead, you would run away and find another just like you found me.”
Avril gasped and moved back.
“I'm not...I'm not using you Dakar. I swear I don't even want you to meddle in any of this. This is why I wanted to be there and give him the words that would suit that snake head of his.”
Dakar drew her back and turned her around to back him. He wrapped his arm about her chest and inhaled her hair.
“It's okay to use me. I'd be proudly wrapped around your finger forever,” he whispered into her ear and she laughed.
“Look who sounds like Camper,” she commented and he chuckled.
“You mean a lot to me, babe. I can't...I can't explain how I feel about you. You probably wouldn't believe me if I did.”
Avril snuggled more into his arms and relaxed. She held his arm that was over her chest with her own hands and exhaled.
“I don't think you would feel anything for me if you...if you knew what I had done,” she stammered. Dakar looked at her face and placed a kiss on her cheek.
“What about me? Do you think I'm clean?” he questioned and she chuckled.
“I don't think so. You're dark, Dakar.”
“Yes, I'm Dark—er.”
Avril laughed at that pun of his. She turned around and locked hands with his.
“Your mother sure named you well, Mr Dark—er,” she teased and tiptoed to reach his face. She stared him in the eye lovingly and he looked down at the softest skin of the body. Slowly and maybe too slowly, they locked lips and mixed mouthy juices. Their fingers unlocked and Avril wrapped her arms around his neck and gasped as Dakar lifted her up still kissing her. They stopped and he lifted her even higher than his height, making her giggle and hold his face lovingly in her palms.
“You didn't tell me what you did to Luca Aguero, Dakar,” Avril stated. Dakar raised a brow at her for ruining the moment, but nevertheless dropped her gently on the floor.
“Well, after he said you were using me. I walked up to him and grabbed his neck. He couldn't do anything because all his men he brought to the location were seized by my men. I looked him in the eye, and warned him to stay away from you or else I would pierce his neck through next time.”
Avril stared at him like he had a shark head.
“Don't tell me you...you actually pierced his neck but would pierce it through next time?!” Avril exclaimed and he shrugged casually.
“He needed a scar, baby. How else would he remember my warning?”
Avril found herself smiling and being super proud of Dakar.
“But how are we going to know what he wants from us?”
“Because he would be back. However, I got an inside man this time.”
“Who?”
“You'll see.”
Avril flicked off an invisible dust from his white dress shirt and ruffled his hair. The already loose bun came down and she scattered it over his head.
“Handsome evil Prince,” she whispered and turned around, catwalked to the coffee machine to get herself a cup and Dakar looked at her like she was the only woman in the world.
