Chapter 43: Chapter 43

"I should have known better than to hear you out in the first place" I sighed as I made an attempt to leave the room before his voice put me to a halt.

"Just wait, it's a really long story but I'll tell you anyway" he replied while his index finger made its way to his lips and damn does he look so hot right now.

I immediately shoved the perverted thoughts away from my mind before I would get myself into a worse state of being horny and I couldn't afford to lose focus as I really needed to know why he would do something so bad and cruel to Jika.

"If you want me to wait any longer then you might as well start talking " I said with a stern face as I looked into his eyes.

He stood up from where he was seated and walked slowly towards me with his hands in his pockets. On getting to where I was standing, he heaved a deep breath and rubbed his temples before bringing his face to mine.

He tried to hold my hands but I was quick to have jerked them away from his grip.

"I didn't kill him because you ran to him. '' He stated while his eyes were looking straight into mine and I cocked an eyebrow for him to continue.

"I had other reasons for killing him, reasons that were way beyond my power" he said and I wondered what else could be beyond his power being that he's literally the most powerful person I have ever come across.

"What could be the reason beyond your power?" I sarcastically scoffed.

"My father, Adolph. You see, whenever certain packs continuously break the rules, my father forces me to deal with that certain pack depending on how severe their crime was."

"Your Alpha did the same and that was why I had to put him in his place but his crime wasn't as serious to put the whole pack into exile"

"The Red Moon pack had secretly helped a girl from a pack that was meant to be put to exile while the Alpha had claimed the girl to be his son's mate."

"According to the rules, I had to kill the Alpha of the pack but his son was still very young and so I spared him at that moment but my father must not know of this"

"I had thought the son might have fled away but he stupidly chose to remain in the pack and with no doubts, the news of me invading their pack would spread to my father and if he found out Jika was still alive then I would be done for, so I had no choice but to silent him. He also knew of this, he was quite aware of the reason why I would kill him." He said and for some moment I was finding it hard to believe before everything slowly started to form into place as they all made sense.

I really hope I won't be coming close to his father anytime soon as I would really love to be as far away as I could from Adolph.

"What will he do to you if he finds out?" I asked after some awkward silence between us.

"I'll be dead, just like the rest of my brothers. I can't afford to die now so I have to follow his every commandment until he finally retires and hands over the throne" Alaric stated and my eyes opened in awe at the sound of his statement.

How can a father actually kill his own children for not following his commandments.  After listening to him, I finally knew why he had no choice but to be this beast he has become.

"Do you have anything else bothering you?" He asked after he noticed I've been quiet for some time while my eyes were fixed on my floppy slippers.

I slowly brought my eyes to look at him and for the first time, my eyes were looking at him differently but I was quick to snap back to reality. I wouldn't make myself pity him because of just one sad story he said.

My mind suddenly drifted to the first day he made an appearance to the whole school and how he claimed to be the heir to an Alpha while he wasn't any where close to an Alpha but a fucking lycan prince.

"Why did you claim to be a mere werewolf that day at the pack house?" I asked and a grin formed on his lips.

"I just wanted to know who would try to stand up against me if I claimed to be a mere wolf. I didn't want to brag about being a lycan prince but the wise ones found out immediately though" he chuckled and one could tell that he was feeling himself as he remembered the events from that day.

"I don't have any more questions for now" I said and turned to walk out of the room and maybe away from him so I would have the time to process all of what he had told me but I still felt very sad for Jika and I was sure there should have been a way to solve the problem rather than killing someone else. All of these really need to stop and I hope he would make a difference once he becomes a king but I doubt he'd change from being this ferocious Devil.

"Lenora!" He called my name but now with a more serious tone, the cocky tone on his tongue wasn't there anymore.

I watched how he walked past me and locked the door behind me and the instant the door knob twisted my heart started to race really fast.

After locking the door, he approached me with a face filled with different emotions and it was hard for one to tell what was In his mind.

"Don't ever be scared of me because I will never hurt you and I promise to protect you from anything or anyone even my father" he stated while I stared at him in dismay.

"I'm mated to you and so are you, I know your wolf has accepted it and you have no choice but to accept too" He stated and I immediately scoffed at his confidence.

"Don't take me wrong, I mean, you obviously can't reject me as your wolf has already accepted me but I promise I'm not like any other lycan or werewolf out there. I've spent and lived my life without experiencing love and I want that from you "

"You're my safe haven and I don't mind being at my lowest with you by my side. You hate me right now and I know but you need to love me, Lenora " he stated with sincerity in his eyes.

"Love isn't something I can promise you, it's a feeling that I chose to not give to anyone who causes me harm including you" I spat but before I had finished my statement he cut me off.

"Three month Lenora!, I'll make you fall in love with me within three month and if after the third month you're still not in love with me then I'll let you be, I go far away from you and never show my face to you anymore. " he said as my eyes widened in surprise.

I hated this man and the fact that I was mated to him but if this actually works out well then I would get to be free from him. I know my wolf would definitely hate me for this but she has to consider my options and sanity too.

With satisfaction in my heart, I brought my eyes to his face as I looked straight into his emerald eyes.

"Three month is a deal" I replied with a satisfied smile as I could hear my wolf cursing me in every language possible but I chose to ignore her. The look on his face fell as I could tell that he had started to doubt his ability and decision.

"But there's one more perk" He announced but his smile came back to his face while I returned it with a stern face.

"You have to agree to everything I plan out for this, but not to worry, none of this would put you in trouble" he stated.

I have no idea what those stuffs could be and really wanted to decline it so bad but his offer was too good to turn down as the joy of being free from him after three month clouded my head.

"Okay" I replied with a smile and for some seconds it seemed like we were in a movie of two rivals bargaining over a thing but in this case I'm the thing.

"Can I leave now?" I cocked a brow at him with a satisfied grin on my face as I turned and swayed my hip while reaching for the door.

He really believes so much In himself to think that three month would be okay for me to fall in love with him.

"Joker!" I muttered under my breath

"Mine!" He responded immediately and the word sparked some type of fire in me as my head flared.

I really hated the fact that he called me that since we haven't gotten to the end of this anyway and I definitely would not end up with him.

"You're so sure of this aren't you?" I sneered at him.

"Yes I am!" He replied with his arms folded under his manly breasts.

"And how do you know I would want to fall in love with someone like you after three month"

"It's easy, you want me so badly, so does your body and wolf." He answered like that proud student that knows all In the class.

"We'll just have to see about that, Mr. Know all!" I replied and angrily stormed out of his room even though my hand had fumbled with the lock for some while before I was finally able to get out.

Immediately I barged out of the room, I came face to face with Jenny and flashed her a satisfied smile but she didn't bother to hide her hate towards me as I walked past her and I could swear I heard her growling at me like a mad wolf.

On entering my room, I crashed on the bed while staring at the ceiling and thinking of all that has just happened with Alaric and I in the past few minutes.

I remembered how he walked to lock the door behind me and I wondered why he had locked the door when nothing intense was clearly going to happen between us or was he going to touch me at that moment?

The thought of him wanting to touch me made my cheeks burn as they turned bright red in no time. I tried to stop myself from making my thoughts go wild but I had to let myself have this one moment to myself since I was alone at the moment.

There couldn't possibly be any harm in thinking and fantasizing about his perfect body just this once but I lied to myself as I suddenly felt some wetness in between my legs.
